      Thank you dear Habibah! It grew a little haha 😊 But I still try to keep it minimal and easy to organise. Only necessary items. Makes it easier to think and work 😀

    So genius to make that jeweler's desk. Mine is an old computer desk. I def need to make adjustments. One step at a time.

    You are SOOO cute! You ARE a professional and it IS your professional space if you sell anything, and it's your excellent studio! I loved your studio tour. What are the 3 tools you don't have and wish you did? Your studio has a very warm, open, and creative support environment feeling. I wouldn't leave the room, it's lovely!

      Thank you so much! :) That's very sweet. Hmm, great question about the tools 😀 I think it would be a plating system with digital pen (I know it's not a necessary tool, but being able to use gold plating in my designs is sooo exciting!), engraving ball and fumes extractor. All tools are great to be honest and wonderful things can be done with many of them haha :))

    Hi Basia! I know this is a super old video but it was really helpful to me as someone making on a budget ❤ I actually by coincidence have the same ‘bench’ although mine could do with a hole cutting out of it 😂 I recently just got a pendant motor with a flex shaft but I’m clueless so I’ll see if you have a video on that next. Do you wear a mask when using it?

    Hi there, do you find your newer desk stable enough to work from? I have been keen to purchase one of these from Ikea for my studio but worried that the material is not solid enough for silversmithing work. Would be super keen to hear how your experience has been using it. Setup looks fantastic now. What a lovely space to be able to work from.

    • @TheArtOfMetalsmithing
      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  Год назад +1

      This white desk was enough for my needs back then, but it wasn't sturdy enough for heavier tools. For that, I used this wooden ikea trolley, which was solid and excellent for the rolling mill, cutting tools, stamping and hammering. I'm afraid that doing all of these jobs on the white Ikea desk-table may be a bit too much. However, for lighter jobs, like sawing and soldering it's great! :)

      @@TheArtOfMetalsmithing Thanks so much for your advice - I really appreciate it. I was hoping the trestle legs might have made it a bit sturdier but I thinking I was hoping for too much. Think I'm just gonna go hunt round the second hand shops to find something solid wood. Your studio is looking super fab. Thanks again! :)

      I got them at Cookson gold :) I think Cousins should have them too. Both are based in the UK, but I'm sure international supplier carry them too. I hope you'll be able to find them! ❤️

    And there is more... You're too young to catch that reference so onwards. I love that you've got/getting all those great tools from Pepe I can't think of anyone who deserves them more, your output already good is going to grow so well with this help and that is no less than you deserve.
    Take care still...

    Does your work space always look so neat and organised? I try to keep my this way, but end up with tools and materials all over the place eventually :D

    • @TheArtOfMetalsmithing
      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  4 года назад

      Yes, same here! 😁 I did tidy up for the video hahaha 😄 But to be honest I usually like to keep it this way most of the time. Sometimes I will have stuff lying around, sometimes everything will be very organised. It depends on the day and the type of the creative zone I will get into that day 😁 I think it really doesn't matter as long as you can feel the flow and work easily ❤️

    Hiya Lady Stardust and thank you for yet again a great video. Your professional set up is in your flat, so is mine and so are thousands more. This does not detract from the quality of your work, in fact it probably increases it as heat control, travelling to work, refreshments etc become a very minor issue... Being in for persells, or is that parcels(?) is yet another bonus.
    That very short view of a whale et all was far to brief Dear Lady, when is the full reveal? When are you doing the JRR Talkin Hobbit dragon Smugg (?) and the Hobbits, Elfs, Orcs etc??? I think your view of these elusive but very real creatures would be great. I read the Hobbit at school when I was 12 and have re-read it and The Lord of the Rings many times since. As a history of very hard times for your normal mortal what with Dark Riders on their flying beasts putting your hens off laying eggs... So much for second breakfast!
    Keep on going please as you are, the more videos the better for us as the inspiration from your words and attitude is very welcome.
    Take care,,,

    That is a European style bench, if,you attach a small wood block,to underside, and drill a hole to put your mandrel in,to stone set. I'd get that pickle pot,a place away from your nose,or a seperate hood,to vent. Good vidio tho,just my thoughts.

    • @TheArtOfMetalsmithing
      @TheArtOfMetalsmithing  4 года назад

      No, these are great thoughts, and I appreciate you sharing them :) The problem is, I don't have any other place for the pickle pot, that would be close enough to the window/balcony door and the socket. I use food grade pickling solution, so it's not very toxic. But will definitely change this set up as soo as I can.
