I love how intentionally timed that phase is with the music. The choir kicking in and getting more intense as the raid is hit with a barrages of attacks, all culminating to Torn From The Heavens as Omega slowly starts to melt down, before finally coming to a head.
The Final Binding Coil did this too. The opening DPS check timer ends as the song hits the guitar verse. But this feels like the entire song is coordinated.
Yeah, many ultimates do that as the lack of checkpoints between phases lets them reliably set when a specific part of the music will play (aside from DSR p2 ofc). Another example is DSR's DotH bringing in the battle half of HW's theme, or even the TOP p6 enrage sequence syncing to torn from the heavens as well
This isn't "Torn From The Heavens", but that song is used as well. And it makes perfect sense even without your incredibly literal interpretation. Omega is researching us, the WoL. Omega struggles to rationalise how we're so powerful, all the readings suggest we're fairly average. "Torn from the heavens" is in reference to akasha, a hindu concept that gets introduced in Endwalker as dynamis. A mystical, near undetectable force that allows us to stand against insurmountable odds by sheer force of will. Sure the blessing of light helps too, but Omega can measure that, unlike that which is "torn from the heavens". Omega is imitating us to figure it out, so of course the WoLs theme would be involved, especially considering why Omega is imitating us in the first place.
Although it's not "Torn from the heavens" and instead is "From the heavens", there's a dragon that said "they came from the heavens, as beautiful as falling stars". Probably an Omicron invasion looks like a starshower
Watching these healers casting Malefic/Broil calmly while their team sits at half hp, knowing they have time before they have to heal, very impressive. Grats on the clear! Looks like you don't need a sage spamming shields every gcd to clear =p

it's my favorite phase in the fight for this reason

this song being used for omega makes a lot more sense when you remember the omicrons tore a lot of stars from the heavens

Tora's friend here, congrats on the clear and I love the Blue screen --> P3 transition.
I love at 11:45 how the music changes from heroic to sad last fight last journey music
I've been listening to the OST through your channel ever since I started playing in August, you're a hero for posting these ❤
The beginning crescendo as Final Omega manifests and lands, slaming down on the battlefield is (chef's kiss)
