props to you for clearing the fight with everyone's effects on
Righjt!? Heavy flex.
on top of that but also playing ast :O
@@shiroalter8975 ast has some wicked amount of burst healing if used right, i believe ast was used for the solo healer clear as well.
Now do it with 4 summoners
Also pls no small size cheating, Titan/Baha would be sad
Man, the final half of the fight where everyone in the party gets to do their own LB3 back-to-back is probably one of the hypest moments I witnessed. Congrats on the clear!
My man really did TOP to make this video. Insane.
ikr fucking wild
Ewww puns 😂😂😂😂
i really love the strat of dying as a dark knight by clicking the tank lb3 buff so he can get the mp back from the healer lb3 and do more edge of shadows, and then doing it again cuz free damage, is so stupid but it totally makes sense
DRKs are used to being Living Dead
hey if it worked it ain't stupid
XDD
"I am the Omega, and I walk with the Alpha. Where one ends, another begins."
Designed to be "The Strong" Omega didn't realise that the 'heart' is in reality, the reason to fight.
In the final phase, Omega has accepted comforting Alpha and realized, that this great power is the desire to protect Alpha.
Merged Omega declared itself Alpha and the Omega. The theme, was "From the Heavens" Omega embracing the approximation of divinity. That power used from this didn't make a difference.
Alpha Omega is so far the strongest incarnation of the entity. It now has a reason to continue against the odds.
(Or you know, by merging with Alpha, Omega unlocked the powers and understanding of what makes us powerful... Dynamis)
@@wilcowhiteheart807 during second to last phase (the E-scape part) Omega already started to channel some Dynamis, not really understanding what it was doing.
With Alpha came the understanding of how and why.
Shoutouts to your DRK doing the suicide meme strat
Funny we went from Sword and Board in ARR to "THE PIERCING RAYS OF TEN MILLION SUNS!" in Endwalker. This is Phantasy Star Online 2 levels of madness!
Another king left out in the rain with nothing to do in NGS. I feel the pain brother, been blasting through xenoblade 3 myself waiting for v2
man, this fight is so fascinating to watch. ty for uploading!
I had to tell myself 'I won't do an Ultimate' when I heard the Orchestral of Moebius.
Now I'm doing it *again* with this.
This has been the Golden Serpent of Ronkas mount theme and Im glad to see it put to a boss finally
yknow i thought you were joking, but you right
@@KnightLight718 Its a pretty rare mount, and more people need to know about it.
[Omega powers up to Torn From The Heavens]
WOL: "So that's how that feels..."
But don't we power up too?
I really like the mechanic that allows DRK to die and died again, and still stand up again like a true Dark Knight.
There's something about this track that makes it impossible to hold tears back and I have no idea why, but I love it.
"Torn From The Heavens" is the one BGM that everyone who has played FFXIV knows, regardless of their story progression or what they focus their gametime on. Because everyone at one point or another has wandered through or into a FATE in the ARR zones. Torn From The Heavens is the BGM that plays when you participate in a good portion of them (not all of them, mind you, but a lot of them). The orchestral version just hits home because of that. It's one of the first actual combat BGMs a player will listen to.
The first time I cleared this in TOP it was amazing. The music really adds to the epicness.
Because it's our story. All of ours. All of ff14 can be encapsulated in this one epic. And bow we have someone who has the honor of sharing it.
This town's big enough for both of us
Part of it because it's the theme most associated with the wol aside from maker's ruin and song of hope. This here demonstrates that omega has earned the right to sit with us right up there, and it is incredibly glorious.
Dev : "How many required LB3 should we put in this fight?"
Yoshi-P : "Yes"
The resolution of each mechanic being timed to match the pace of the music absolutely has to be intentional. Beautiful stuff.
After the first phase of an ultimate where the music just loops between wipes, they know *exactly* when the mechanics will be and can sync the music up to them
The path I recorded through the great expanse...
The piercing rays of ten million suns...
The velocity of the wyrm, surging across the cosmos...
The flames which incinerated the Dragonstar...
The colossal impact which invites extinction...
The velocity of a wyrm*
Omega finally got what he wanted.
He finally got his chicken tenders.
Omega refers to the player character as Alpha and seeks to fulfill its ultimate goal by cooperating with us (The Alpha Group).
Thats why he says he "Walks with The Alpha (group)" its an entirely new way of thinking that requires emotion
Alpha, the bird, helps Omega understand this. Omega evaluates its memories and emotions with the player character during battle, similar to Ultima Thule and the Endsinger reviewing its own memories.
When defeated, Omega immediately begins anew with Alpha, symbolizing endings and new beginnings.
This is the genius of The Omega Protocol.
This whole phase is literally the zoom in on Danny DeVito going "I get it" only this time it's Omega.

While I prob won't do this kind of content til getting Ultimate experiences for a while, this was a hype moment to watch. And the LB3 spam phase by Enrage (while cheering for a streaming raid team, repesented by Mnk) had me screaming LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO
Congrats on your team's clear!
I love how the DRK just casually dies twice during Magic Numbers and nobody bats an eye
That's actually intentional. They click off the tank LB buff so they can die and rez with full MP. The 3 extra Edges you get more than makes up for the 1-2 lost GCDs
the DRK did it on purpose, its part of the strat (no joke), if you watch the DRK, he/she clicks off the LB3 Buff
as a DRK u could just spam your Edge of Shadow 3 times (consuming all your MP) and then proceed to die from the aoe
when u got rezzed u will have all your MP, ready for another round of burst
doing this will give you 4-6 more Edge cast (which totals at around 1840 - 2760 raw potency) which is a lot
in a fight where every single DPS counts this can make or break the run
Job with a slightly different damage cadence to others: NOT ALLOWED, REMOVE IT, EVERYTHING MUST BE SAME
Literally fucking killing yourself for a few points of damage: go right ahead sir, this is okay
I hate square enix.
@@gackybass Cadence has nothing to do with why people are using this strat, since dying doesn't stop your GCD from rolling. It's just a silly way to cheese a mechanic and get slightly more damage on dark knight. It's not as if they designed the fight or the job with that in mind. If any other job used MP as much as dark knight, it would make just as much sense for them to die and be revived in the same manner.
@@gackybass drk is the only job that can do that strat, because every other job that uses mp cant spam their entire mp bar away in 0.5 seconds for giant cock potency. If reaper or something could use mp to get like 3 big potency ogcds outside of a burst window itd prolly be doing this too
This final phase feels really good compared to every other ultimate's. It's long, the mitigation requirements are insane, the mechanics are just intense enough to keep you awake, and the DPS check requires everyone to be on point, and even then it still feels close.
TEA final phase still beats this out for me but this is a very close second.
@@carbonide1290I'm sorry. As somebody who's done TEA themselves, the final phase is a snoozefest compared to BJCC.
@@arieltimeshrine8137 Ehhh, PA is more visually amazing and thematically just cool as fuck. The BJ/CC fusion with Alex intro, the arena, the music and in theme mechanics all combined just make it the perfect phase for me. Now if we are just talking mechanics and even the once tight dps check, then yeah PA has aged worse than BJ/CC but tbf still a solid phase overall.
@@carbonide1290tbf I also very very strongly feel that Alex is overhyped and so there's bias there because I am the kind of person who subconsciously hates something if I feel it's been overhyped to me. It took until 665 relic for me to finally bite the bullet and do the Manderville quests and I started in Stormblood.
THANK YOU
Pretty awesome to hear the Distant Worlds version of Torn from the Heavens added into FF14. Definitely a fitting song for this fight
This isn't the Distant Worlds version. It's the version from the Eorzean Symphony.
Another video from our favorite FFXIV music documentor and racing game player
Anyone else feel like that Clive's main motif from FFXVI sounds like the main part of Torn From the Heavens?
Congrats!! I hope to do top someday
Jesus the Co-ordination required is insane
Each of the 8 people in this phase all have to practice different movement that is specific to only them. The other players have to do the same. It all happens too fast to try and correct other people so we just practice our movements solo as basically every mechanic in this fight requires all 8 people
As a person who only just started FFXIV, seeing crazy fights with all these effects and statuses terrifies me lmao
As it rightly should. I'm a vet of around 6 years at this point and these fights still scare me lmfao
@@escahfaidhe755 I second this, been around since 3.4, I'm still terrified of going into ultimates and I raided pretty constantly through SB.
Just when I thought Omega couldn’t get any more epic in scale FFXIV outdo themselves.
This track makes a grown man cry but this version makes manly tears only
Man did TOP for a video. As a AST. WITH A CONTROLLER
This music also plays as the mount music for Gold Pot of SCEEEE!
Omega: Alpha, bring me a team of teenagers with attitude.
Gratz on your clear :)
That bass sforzando, at 0:31, every time. SENT.
This some Asura's Wrath shit.
Grats on the clear!
First time hearing this, 1:47 gave me chills
Good song
This was a pain to go through, but this final phase is hands down the best out of all ultimates
I fear no man, but that...thing...
_...it scares me._
Grats on the clear
So, you teach a Super sentient machine how to attain Limit breaks ?
If omega had this form he probably could’ve saved his world
grats bro
Big ups to the ninja out DPSing the Reaper! :D
How do you know?
@@maskedfreak5664 enmity list i guess
its supposed to be like that lmao the ninja has dance partner he'd be doing absolutely dogshit if the RPR was out DPSing him
how can i get this orchestrion roll ? from which npc ? have cleared it and don#t know where to pic this
There's no orchestrion roll for this song, but it does also play as the mount music for the golden ronkan mount
There's no way you clear ults if you aren't aware that orchestrion rolls for final phase themes don't exist.
The eorzean national anthem
bit of an unrelated question but what keybinds do you use to target party members
Congratulations on the clear. I wonder if this or Dragon King Thordan is harder?
This seems to have the tighter dps check but DKT seems to have more mechanics during the fight, not to mention this boss kinda just stops attacking at around 45% for magic number>enrage
Each one is hard for different reasons. DKT has fewer mechanics, but he does them for longer. DKT is also more of a heal check, while alpha omega is more of a mit check. Overall though, I'd say alpha omega is a bit tougher due to the mechanics being more complex, and requiring more precise positioning/timing
Is this bass boosted? Sounds really good with headphones on
Other than increasing the volume a bit, I didn't make any edits to the audio
2:48 LUL
What’s the title you get for beating this?
‘The Alpha Legend’
Gg ☺️
He says, U'viloh but what does that mean?
It's just one of the default names the game can give you in the name generator
@@uvi- but why does he say that name specifically, there must be a reason
Omega just says the name of the player character. If you watch any other POV, he'll say a different name.
@@uvi- Holy shit, thanks bro lmao
Torn from the Heavens isent the same with out the background sound of 100 adventures
why does this look easier than uwu?
Lol.
It isn't. UWU's final phase isn't hard outside of Annihilation because one mechanic has a consistent graphical tell on the arena and the other can be practiced ingame on the elevator and is simply "do not panic". Also, the mit check on Ultima is hilariously loose compared to even some Savage fights.
Other than that awful track from the last trial in EW, this was the least climactic music in the whole game so far I think. So sad for what is essentially the pinnacle of in-game combat right now and probably the coolest battle in every other regard (unless difficulty turns you off)...yeah, first ARR boss battle theme with slight orchestral variation lmao.
