Polo Green has a dark royal green, piney depth that I can’t find in anything else. I think of it as the king of men’s fragrances. Something my grandpa might have worn to a wedding, or to the country club on the weekend. But there’s some familiar uplifting feeling from Paco Rabanne that I get, I think from the menthol like effect the Rosemary has with its bright opening and humble but respectable dry down. A working man’s aftershave smell, what grandad wore every day. It’s the one I enjoy wearing most.
Paco Rabane PH is more suitable for casual non formal occasions e.g everyday use, gym etc where as Polo Green is a great compliment for more formal dressed up smart casual occasions.
Paco Rabanne Pour Homme opened my eyes to fougere perfumery along Drakkar Noir, and it was my signature scent for several months (July to Sept or Oct 2020 or maybe later) however i then liked a quite similar scent that i liked more, which is Givenchy Gentleman '74, it is extremely versatile and i like the smell more. I actually lost lately the love for PR Pour Homme for the sweetness it has, if i had to choose between the two, i would definitely go for Polo, it is nicer, more masculine, heavier... Greetings Joy
PR PH has a sharp vinegary opening then has that playful honey kick. Reminds me of a mischievous gremlin - the one from Gremlins 2 the new batch the mogwai with the spinning eyes LOL. Sort of an ick factor. Polo green is a masterpiece - piney green elegant smoky allure. If fragrances had personalities and souls I would trust Polo much more.
I love Polo Green but wish I could find an affordable modern alternative that hadn't suffered from reformulation. Can't imagine wearing Polo or Paco Rabanne in warmer weather without hiring a platoon of bodyguards, who would probably suffocate while trying to protect me
Nice to see some fragrance love for these two, TY. I have had Paco Rabanne pour Homme Apres Rasage for years and I enjoy it for myself but the bottle just ran out. What contemporary aromatic Fougeres are there (if any) that are particularly good that don't get hate for smelling too dated? Thank you for your content.
Thank you for a great review! Paco pour homme is my all time favorite scent. For a long time I wanted to try Polo green. How is the 2022 version of Polo Green? I've heard some critical statements about the newer reformulation.
@@geraldguerra8078 Meanwhile I got myself a bottle and I've got to admit you're absolutely right. The smell is good but the longevity is abysmal. Hard to believe that this once was a beast.
@@hckroess I'm going to try wearing what they call " barbershop " colognes. They smell classic, fresh and clean. Ralph Lauren really pissed me off. Good luck.
Well, Ralph Lauren Polo Green is a piney, leather, tobacco, herbal and spicy chypre. Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is a soapy "barbershop" fougere. Polo Green is #1 in my collection of ~200 bottles. It has been my signature scent for 10+ years. Polo Green quite simply, in my opinion, is the quintessential "scent of a man". It is the masculine analogue to Coco Chanel's proclamation of her own No. 5 being "the scent of a woman". Polo Green is the smell of success. The smell of money. The smell of an old-world refined Gentleman's Club, where refined gentlemen gather amidst Chesterfield leather furniture, dark mahogany paneled walls full of musty old books, old world maps, pipe tobacco, scotch, to reminisce of lifetimes of foreign colonial adventures. It is "a closed circle of the chosen and this circle has its rules and traditions". Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, on the other hand, is dead last in my collection of "barbershop" fougeres. It smells of cheap laundry detergent. So to sum up: Ralph Lauren Polo Green is an order of magnitude better, in every way - including performance by a country mile, than Paco Rabanne Pour Homme.
Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is a very good woody green soapy fragrance. The og Polo Green is way too harsh, piney and mossy. PR is way more wearable and pleasant to me.
You're forgetting Jacques Bogart Signature, their first ever. It is worthy of a comparison. I'm kinda gutted that you have missed that masterpiece from the line. 😆

Don't expect any compliments when you wear Polo Green.
No one compliments the Boss when he smells good.
I literally got a compliment from a young lady yesterday wearing Polo Green lol
I have them both. I find Paco Rabanne Homme to be more versatile than Polo Green, but I really like them both. Thanks for your review, Joy!
I don't think PR even comes close to Polo. Polo might be the best of all-time.
Paco Rabane PH is more suitable for casual non formal occasions e.g everyday use, gym etc where as Polo Green is a great compliment for more formal dressed up smart casual occasions.
I love polo green. It just smells manly. None of these sweet, girly fragrances that some guys wear. I also love the bottle.

Polo Ralph Lauren (Green) if it were put into a niche fragrance bottle it would cost at least 300 bucks 👍👍👍
Great comparison Joy! Couldn't agree more.

both iconic. PRPH is my weapon of choice
Do you mean Armaf iconic ??????
Polo green, my go-to fragrance.....

Tom Ford Beau de Jour is my #1 "barbershop" Aromatic Fougere, and has a reputation for being "modern".
@@JT-rx1eo Thanks, I appreciate it. I'll have to finally get my nose on it!
Polo green is my fav as well as moustache and tux.. maybe I'm growing up

@@geraldguerra8078 I got that already. One of my favorites!
Polo Green is a cool and cold weather fragrance; we need something else for Spring and Summer.
Disagree about the seasonal nonsense. I live in the tropics and wear Polo all the time. It shines because it's a great smell

Great compassion video and I enjoyed it and I like Polo green and I'm going to try Paco Rabanne pour homme and have a blessed day
If it is vintage Polo I might choose it, but the current formulation I would choose the PR.
What does the current PR smell like. I just seen it in Meijer
Good review bro, your volume is challenging
U r a nice guy Joy! I always look forward to your reviews
Great comparison !
Great Comparison Video, Joy!! Super Old School Perfume.
Ralph Lauren Safari vs Hugo Boss Number 1 next?
Joy, check out Paco Rabanne Sport
Great video, always very entertaining to watch
Hey good people
Make video about clones which are better then the original
