I have the vintage that i think is older than the vintage bottle you have because the R on my splash bottle is raised. I noticed that on my vintage splash that animalic honey note is really turned up. My fathers signature scent is paco rabanne pour homme and has been my whole life. I sprayed the vintage formula on his hand from a decant without telling him what fragrence it is i was spraying and after smelling it he looked at me and said "whats this"? He had no clue it was paco rabanne pour homme until about the 2 to 3 minute mark lol and he wears the current formula everyday! So for me as a collector its a must have. But honestly like you i am just glad they are still making it as its such an iconic scent.

Little tip. I have the modern paco & brought a 10ml bottle of non ifra oak moss (£15), after putting a few drops into a decanted 30ml it turned the yellowish green of the vintage. Plus more importantly I got the beautiful mossy depth added to the scent.

Absolutely love this frag. I feel very masculine and down to earth with this one. Nothing metro or unisex about it like a high percentage of frags nowadays. Is it sophisticated? No. It’s a straight forward manly, soapy, oakmoss scent, I find it addictive and find myself reaching out at this one A LOT more than I remotely thought I would.

I think this fragrance has aged pretty well, relatively speaking. I got a newer bottle from Ross a couple years ago and it smelled awesome - very aftershave-y and masculine, not too harsh, and not missing too much depth. I don't have the original to compare it to but in some modern formulations of classic fragrances you can just tell they've been neutered (Loewe Esencia, for example)

Very interesting to see your view on their differences, I gather the current formulation is still fantastic as it’s still being sold in large numbers. Tony, try finding a sprayer version they hold up way better since minimal oxygen is introduced to the juice (depending on level) . I too was hovering over a splash vintage, but was always weary about splash because they're easy to refill and they go bad if they're not bnib. But alas, i finally found a brand new 1973 spray bottle! Super stoked i love this juice the opening and ESPECIALLY the dry down it mesmerizes me! Good luck with your search!

"If you were to line up all 6 versions and test them, you would find that there has been a steady, progressive departure from the original, into a totally different fragrance. If I had to rank the size of these changes in numerical terms, it would look something like this:
    1st Edition - 100%
    2nd Edition - 97%
    3rd Edition - 92%
    4th Edition - Unknown
    5th Edition - 50%

I bought this new bottle randomly at an airport. I recognised it and I test smelled about 6 fragrances, including Kuros but the smell of this was so masculine/green. Very much my type as a man in finance who appreciates a good suit etc. This may be my new signature (this or Floris Elite). Can you recommmend a bottle to try knowing the above?

The color of the juice is amazing. Like leather bomber jacket from the 80's. The vintage one. I am trying to find on Ebay vintage Paco Rabanne Pour Homme with sprayer. Is it heavier and deeper than current formulation or Polo Green with sintetic oakmoss.?

Yes that is correct it’s more earthy smelling however the current formula is awesome and if you can’t find a good deal on the vintage don’t over spend especially since you run the risk of getting a sour bottle, make sure to message the seller first and get it in writing

I enjoyed your review, and was wondering if I could get your opinion on something. I was on ebay looking at the Paco Rabanne "Aftershave". I saw the same two bottles (logos) as the ones you showed hear. The ones with the original logo, were selling for about $10 more than the newer bottle logo ones. Do you think the more expensive ones might be the original scent from back in the day? Or, could it be they're still the New Formulation that just happens to have the original packaging?
    Thanks 😊

If the one for a bit more money are the older bottles / vintage then that would make sense as to why they cost a bit more, for the extra 10 bucks I’d go for it but the current formula is really good on its own as well I believe. Thank you for watching and commenting sir

Paco Rabanne pour home was my favourite and first aftershave I ever used.
Now I do not know what they have done recently to the formula. I know the company has changed hands & maybe over the years they have continually tweaked the formula or omitted some ingredients due to European laws
It has more of a over the top soap smell a lot stronger than before which spoils it for me.
Could be my sense of smell has changed since COVID but Armani EUR pour homme my other all time favourite still smells the same

@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Yes, it is weird that I want the aftershave but not the EDT. I love the presentation and old-school vibe of this one; I really wanted to like it. To experience a touch of that, with a faster fade-away of the scent, I've been looking at the aftershave. I was surprised to see the aftershave at a department store a few weeks ago, as I have never seen it in a retail store before given how specific of a product it is. I did find the EDT to have pretty close to beast-mode performance, but the strongest one in my collection right now is One Million Lucky (of which you are probably no fan!). Keep up the great work.
