The fizziness at the top of Bogart Signature just makes it magical for me. Fizzy green with that lovely suede in the mid and base. Easily my favourite of the lot. 💚
Nice list although I'd never associate Quorum with Paco Rabanne vibe lol. Also cool to see Brutal in there, and that Patrick fragrance sounds really nice actually!
Thanks again for these reviews! I relate to all the colognes shared in this video. I will say Paco Rabanne pour homme, for what it is (including being uber masculine), i s done very well and I would classify it's makeup as: Rosemary soapy notes, mossy notes and most importantly a honey note. They got the honey note right and it compliments the scent extremely well. In fact, I would say it wouldn't be the same scent without it. Paco Rabanne pour homme to me at least is as iconic as Polo Green and other powerhouse colognes of the 70's and 80's (which I love) cannot be mistaken, in any way, for a feminine fragrance. The next scent here like that has to be Patrick for men. Another truly masculine scent very similar in spirit to Paco Rabanne but with Fern added and no honey note. Like Paco Rabanne it's an easy reach but different enough to own a bottle. I am happy you reviewed Brut Black but besides being an excellent (waaay above it's price point as far as uniqueness and quality) soapy (a dark red berry?) scent is not really like PRPH but totally worth buying. Open Black is related but in a different way. Sure, Dial soap and smokiness, but that's a generalization and in my opinion, it's much better than that on the skin. Well worth a bottle. I want to like Brutal Intense (and sometimes I do, oddly) but there is a group of cheesey notes in it that reminds me of Worth pour homme (which isn't bad in lighter doses) and also Aqua Velva (Ice Blue) which my father wore occasionally and I really don't like. Quorum is blended too smoothly to be in the same boat, not enough oak moss roaring into the soapiness. As far as Jacques Bogart. I really like a lot of their fragrances, they are the "underdogs" of the fragrance world. Their colognes are cheap and sometimes wonky but quite a lot they end up hitting it out of the park. One Man Show, Bogart , Furyo etc. Finally, HUGE fan of Italian Basil colognes! I would be hard pressed to find one I don't like. Loewe Pour Homme (although a Spanish House) is an excellent example. Carlo Corinto for men is another soapy basil forward fragrance (which I recommend). Great video! Thanks again!
Myself a bottle of Bogart Signature on your recommendation around 6 months ago...proper pickled lemon opening ha ha.....crazy prices currently......love your videos pal, you and MrSmelly are the channels I keep coming back to...
Agreed on the Bogart Signature. Closest to the OG of Paco Rabanne ... Surprisingly I don't dislike the current version of Quorum. True it doesn't have the balls like the vintage but I think it seems easier to wear today around most people.
I agree found myself wearing the current more this year, it smells good and lasts. Similar to kouros when people trash the current version I always say it smells good and is probably more wearable than the vintage which is nuclear lol
In 2000, my first girlfriend bought me a bottle of Paco Rabanne. She only lasted another year but i have been wearing that as a signature scent ever since.
Every Bogart Signature I've tried (Probably 6) where the "PARIS" in the front of the bottle is larger, vs the newer smaller writing "Paris" have been spoiled. The top notes on that fragrance turn easily I think. I don't even bother trying to grab the larger font bottles since it's just an older batch. The top notes in the older stock smell kinda like a turned, peppery orange from my experience.
Paco Rabanne Pour Homme (1973) is definitely the king. Polish Brutal (1977), reformulated many times, returned to its roots about 10 years ago in the Brutal Classic Intense version and it is delicious. However, in 1976 the British responded with their bomb: Mandate edt (by Eden Classics) and I must admit that they made a lot of noise. Even though I am a patriot and love Poland, I sincerely encourage you to try British Mandate edt. It is available in the USA. Unfortunately, not at the same price as in GB - 7 British pounds, but 21 dollars, which is still a good price for such a pearl. I RECOMMEND. Thank you for all your videos!
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey eBay with shipping from UK (max 14 days) 15 -16$. I bought it from Direct Cosmetics Ltd - they ship worldwide. I saw on eBay that they ship to the US for $4.95. Cheaper than to Germany, where I currently live. 😆
I picked up the Open Black for around $15 last year online and didn't know it was getting more expensive and harder to find. I was browsing recently and couldn't find the other Opens in stock. 😢 Guess we can't take anything for granted in this game these days. Really love Black and plan on using it more in the fall.
Have them all except Brut Black. Brutal Intense and Patrick come closest to my nose. I heard they are actually closer to vintage Worth Pour Homme, but I never smelled that.
I had vintage worth for a little while, I think it made it into a list video at some point but I sold it on Mercari and the guy I sold it to is selling it again I noticed lol
Thanks for this, as I found you searching for an equivalent as PRPH has been discontinued (or not exported to the UK) and certainly is no longer easily available in the UK; a 100ml btl of Eau du Toliet recently offered at £72. So will go off and hunt these out to see if any are available across this side of the pond!
I find Bogart One Man Show the OG, even closer to Paco Rabanne Pour Homme that Bogart Signature, Wich for me it's more close to Denim Original stuff, and Drakkar Noir. Thanks for your beautiful presentation.Salut, buddy!
Thanks so much for watching and commenting ! To me one man show goes in a different direction but they both have a ton of notes so it’s possible to get similarities
PRH is one of my all time favourites. Have a near full 100ml vintage bottle like yours (black cap with built-in sprayer) as well as 100ml splash cologne bottle.
Ive been waiting a long time for a video like this for PRPH. Bought it back in 2018, based on your recommendation, and now, Ive went through almost 3 100 milleliter bottles and a 6.8 ounce in that time. Its one of the best 💈 masculine classics ever. I heard bond#9 from Great Jones smells like Paco, but is sky high$$. I thought Bogart sig smelled alot like Paco, but Bogart to my nose had a dill pickle smell in the drydown that I didn't care for. Kelan do you get that pickle vibe from Bogart or is it just me? Thought about trying Bogart again though just because it does smell like a darker richer Paco. And I really like the title of the video, The Pacfather 💪 Thank Kelan.
It must have been 2019 since that’s when I started making reviews I believe but that doesn’t matter, I love Paco too ! I don’t get the dill pickle note from it though thankfully, I’d revisit it and see if you like it. I had to do that initially with Bogart because I though when I first got it that it reminded me of Aramis which I don’t love
I'm really interested in checking some of theses out but at the same time I wonder if I should even bother?....It's hard to beat the KING PRPH👑😍. Great video though👍
Givenchy gentleman 1978 is different but I prefer it. Bogart signature gives me to much of menthol piny feel. Smell is great I just find it suffocating.
Hey Man, great video well done...Very close to Vintage Paco Robanne PH, but better, Bond No.9 Great Jones...projects and lasts, but is quite expensive (worth it IMO)
Original 1981 Burberrys for men dist by bethco- also a near clone of PR PH- just without the honey base. Just got my 30 ml in the main and I was like UHH- Hello Paca rabanne.
I bought my Paco Rabanne PH and Azzaro PH in 1978 when I was fourteen at BEST discount store for almost 30 dollars total - so you can see my commitment. Both were splash bottles.
Hello, from Portugal, another perfume that I really like is Eau Paco Rabanne pour homme, unfortunately discontinued in 2002, do you know of any perfume that is similar?

I don't know man I don't get any greenness or soapiness with Brutal Intense, it's just musty and it gives me a headache. Maybe it's just my bottle and it's gone bad or so but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Good thing it was dirt cheap

If Open Black makes the list, APH seems like a reasonable addition since they're very similar.
