Nobody puts the Tuz 420 into low gear, it's always in auto because diff lock doesn't turn off anyway, and there's no point because its unstoppable anyway

However, it is very slow, and the speed is not as good as that of Caterpillar 745c. Caterpillar 745c can successfully pass through glaciers in climbing snow and mud, and can also use winches from any slope terrain.

It's a shame how the sub-Reddit of Snowrunner defends it at all costs and pretends it's the best Scout in the world just because it's the meme vehicle.
Lo4f does have the added benefit of having somewhat bugged colliders (ignores collisions with most branches), allowing it to just zip through dense forests where the devs didn't bother putting any obstacles aside for trees and some minor height fluctuations. This is easy to abuse in Taymur where the roads/trails kinda suck while there are large forests all over the place (some of which are sparse enough for even medium trucks to make use of with some difficulty)
the YAR is an excellent scout but the tatarin in hard off-road has absolutely no rivals, as demonstrated by the fact that even in the tests of the video when the path was very difficult he always came first with a large advantage.
tatarin has mainly two flaws:
1 ° no tires with chains
2 ° is not moddable and is not compatible with any type of trailer.
p.s .: another huge advantage that the tatarin has compared to all the scouts is the fact that it has a very powerful engine, this means that it can also be used for the recovery of heavy vehicles in extreme conditions.
I know right? I wish he did this testing with real in game scenarios. Like when will you drive over a bunch of pipes? There is literally no option to do that on the maps. Try doing a missions instead, maybe you could do 3 different missions, one onroad-ish, one offroad-ish, and one extreme muddy. That will tell more than some random custom scenarios.
It also has the worst snorkel but what can we do

It's hard comparing these due to things like severe lack of speed and ice tyres for the Tatarin. It should score much higher from a capability standpoint.
Ive tested all the scout in the game..no one beat the tatarin, you can use AUTO on almost all terrain ..the only downside is lack of chain tires..you will never get stuck on most of the terrain like Yar do, even in stock the Tatarin dominates

The Khan 39 still does fair in snow w/out chains but, I keep my Khan in Michigan and use my H2 and Kar 87 for Snow and Ice
You should add the utility in these comparisons as well, such as trailers that each vehicle can pull, repair and refuel points it can carry, etc. Otherwise great video!
The F750 is a beast after the best engine upgrade. The Lo4f is a blast to drive

The Lo4f has the strongest winch, weighs nothing and can be restarted almost completely on its side after tipping. If you know what you’re doing it’s the best scout in the game. Just don’t try driving it across any maps, it’s best use is as a fuel and repair points backpack on a larger vehicle (especially now that we can pack trucks) and it is a mobile winch point too.

sorry but I have to say that you're wrong
first we all seened it it get stuck in every type of mud no matter what depth it is it WILL strugle
secondly it every scout has the same winch strenght so no it doesn't have the best winch
Thirdly I can see that you fliped a lot if you know how much time its engine is starting up and honestly I dont think that you will go faster thru the mud if your engine starts really fast
fourthly Its engine not that powerful
and finally theres some mud pit doesn't have winch point so no the lo4f is most certainly NOT the best scout in snowrunner

Tuz 16 with scout autonomous winch is a pretty good one as a scout. It must be added to this list.
Yesterday I bought YAR 87, it didn't disappointed me and now after seeing this video I'm boar (more) happy then before. YAR 87 😎
The yar is versatile and can pull trailers, nice vid
On thing not shown in the tests is weak ice like you find in the Kola Peninsula and some spots in the Yukon.
Lighter vehicles like the tuz 166 and Lo4f can drive on weak ice without falling through while the mighty 420 will just sink in and get stuck.
Because they're so narrow the Tuz 166 and Don 71 can also drive through forests much easier than the larger and wider vehicles.
For me best scout is Tatarin he only lack of speed which is not that important and if you know there will be a lot of ice than YAR is ok, otherwise Tatarin is unstoppable.
Brilliant vid - I love the Khan for swamps and water and for scouting gnarly hills but I hate the way it drives, it's just all over the place. I now really need a decent scout as I move through Alaska and was going to go and find the Tatarin but after watching this I think I'll try and get the Yar87 first. I also really like how you do a proper score, makes it so much easier to pick which one to get next.

The Yar is always my go to scout, sometimes I’ll use the Int Loadstar or the Khan Marshall. The Yar is just ideal and perfect. It has a perfect high and low gear, great fuel consumption, roof rack with added fuel and repair, not overly tippy, it’s badass looking, and playing in first person looks great too. And it can rock climb with the best of them. The Yar is popular and used a lot but STILL underrated in my opinion

One thing that only Tatarin can do is to rescue heavy trucks. None of the other scouts can pull a heavy truck.
khan 39 marshall - many years ago it was a car of the Polish army - great off-road bravery and easy to repair

did you forgt to put the snorkel on the tatarin i noticed it took water damage when only half submerged but the snorkel is on the roof so it should have been ok

Started a new game on hard with some rules, one of them this: no Yar 87. It is OP, fuel economy too good. Was bored out of my mind using it in the previous save. And only the one free Tatarin you find allowed.

As a Scout, the Yar is better due to its over all reliability.
The Loadstar uses up its fuel rather fast in comparison and is not too keen on going through some of the deeper stuff and lacks Mud Tyres, but it has more torque and can pull stuff easier so it's best used as a small support vehicle with its service addon and a Scout fuel trailer

i am in the YAR team. it's my perfect scout, used it to get the p512 pf in wisconsin. it was a fun experience and the YAR was unstoppable, it flipped over while crossing a very tilted waterfall, but still didn't give up. used prototype radar exploration trailer to discover the p512 pf

Tatarin will always win, can’t flip it, can’t stop it, can do everything with ease. And do a handling test at speed because who’s driving through all of these terrains in low gears and the high gear? A steep enough terrain would stall every vehicle in the game in that gear😂

The Yar is my personal favourite even if it's not the absolute top tier beast that the Tatarin is. I almost never use the Tatarin, actually, mostly bc it feels a bit cheaty. The Yar is really good but not op, You do have to think about the trucks capabilities before you pick a route
they must hate the Don making it so shitty... and it's my favorite car...
I like both TUZ 420 and 166, YAR-87 is not an Option for me it flips way to easy and has the turn radius of an aircraft carrier

Please put it in at least low+ cause low is so fucking slow and most times I personally use low+ because it is faster with these descend RPM's it just ripps through the mud.

Ehh, in my experience, if high gear won't get you out of the mud or whatever terrain you're dealing with, then low+ won't help you either. Low gear is the way to go sometimes.

The controlled test arent accurate real in game play the tuz is the overall best vehicle the yar cant climb worth crap let alone pull like the tuz I just rescued my tayarga pulling that huge trailer from the factory to the drilling site in black river it got stuck on the hump I hooked the tuz to the tay and had it running to boost the tuz but I doubt it needed the help it pulled it out like nothing and the khan is underestimated it's how I got the tuz without it I wouldnt have the tuz till end game and I had no upgrades on it to get the tuz
