depends how you see winning; this is a test where all conditions have equal value; deep water can probably be avoided most of the time; I don't remember ever needing to cross a river because I had no other option - on the other hand; ice climbing ... it's rather tough on the ice maps without chains; now if you'd apply a percentage of actual gameplay to each surface and modify the scores by those percentages; you might see a different winner come out... and it would be slightly more realistic for every day usage of the truck.
i use my p12 more than any other truck in my fleet. it was also my recovery truck until the mastodon came out. the capacity to carry medium logs on frame while towing a medium logs trailer is so practical

I cant really look down the P16, it's free, has unique high traction tires, slow but delivers in mud. On the other hand I'm harsh on the others because for that much cash I want more performance. P12 isnt bad from the look of it, but as I saw, AWD only helped it with steep roads.
I fitted the 512 with a cargo bed, small crane and a freeway transmission as a fast delivery truck for easy terrain. At least better as as Western 49X at that. Otherwise P16 is great for everything except ice :-)
@@fin57 that’s a bit of a stretch, the P12 does have its advantages over those trucks with its high ground clearance and bigger tires, it’s barely noticeable that it’s slightly less powerful than the both of them as well
Cool video, but not as conclusive as I'd hoped. The P16 has crushed nearly everything I've thrown at it in Michigan. On paper, the P12 is clearly better, but this video shows that it's not as dominant as one might expect. Wish I could see this test again with offroad tires on the P12. It might have won, or at least won more events than it did. As much as I love my P16, I think I'm going to trade it in for the P12 and see how I like that with a set of OHD I tires.
you shouldnt wiggle the steering with a rwd, it will only cause the wheels to plow. Best performance is achieved just by keeping them straight for lower resistance
With the P16 it actually digs through mud etc WAY better if you don't crank the wheel back and forth like a madman. Just let it track straight and it'll bite eventually.
Honestly I don't get the point of Pacific trucks in Snowrunner. At least now they can tow wood but before that? P16 gets stuck everywhere because only RWD. P12 gets stuck in mud because idk. Where i just need to get stuff through heavy terrain I choose Kolob 74760 anytime.
Speed means nothing when the goal is delivering. P16 in my game has always been better then the rest when it comes to that. Getting weight on those back tires makes it an absolute beast
I disagree with your call on the deep water crossing. The P16 didnt make it out but it went just as deep as the other 2 but sustained 0 engine damage from the water. The "winner" did experiance engine damage as well.
This game is so inconsistent when comparing trucks 6x6 looses to 4x6 in a game where its all about mud/snow Sometimes off road tires beat mud tires in mud for reasons understood only by devs
I dont like the p12 because i used it as a logging truck but it's engine is to weak. The tires didnt spin but I pressed full gas. But I love the p16 because it is wide so it is hard for it to fall over. And it's offroad capabilities is great and it has everything I need.
@@cameronpearce4472 the results are displayed poorly. In the table the truck with the highest fuel consumption per minute is awarded the most points under the title fuel efficiency. Just seeing that without anything else makes it look like you're awarded more points for burning more fuel at a higher rate. That's my point. Also I don't think the fuel test represents accurate conditions when you're never sitting still in Snowrunner, you're always on the move and the consumption is variable. My tests have the trucks go from A to B with a % of fuel consumption taken then compared against competition. I know from experience that the P16 has excellent fuel efficiency.
'Best' truck: Can't climb ice, worst at crossing rivers, least fuel efficient, and only middle of the range at mud pulling. Are we even playing the same game? Seems like the p512 is best at racing only. Season 7 would love you.
I tried this new Pacific P512 yesterday and like the other 2 once you go into deep mud and water with a few rocks it dies. This whole argument about diff lock and no AWD because it doesn't need is bullshit,all people have to do is to test them in Wisconsin,British Columbia and i don't even talk about Kola or Amur. They can't do it because the back tires spin and the front tires loose power,P12 with AWD can actually try. You can't use trucks like Pacific P16 and P512 in hard maps because the lack of AWD limits them in most bad terrain. Pacific P16 is not good enough Pacific P12 is weak Pacific P512 is more of the same🤦♂️ Kenworth 963 has it's problems but even carrying logs destroys all these 3.

They are all incredibly atrocious in this game. These people that keep using them and claiming they rock (specially the p16 and p12) all refuse objective reality. Sure you may like the things and winch your way to doing stuff with them. It doesn't mean they're good.
The P16 is free and appears early on. It’s stable, excellent through mud, and has quite a bit of power. The P12 disappointed me by being unable to climb some hills. I wish the P16 had the medium log frame back.
@@deathx0r it's to each their own. Some play styles vary and lead to people liking something other the the rest even if it might be objectively worse. Personal experience of my own leads my go too trucks as the p16, 512pf, f 750, and the longhorn. However for more solid roads I go with the ws 4964 and the hx 520. Highway I use 512pf with high box and two cats. No real reason for a few choices but that's just what I like for doing it. I'm more comfortable with them in those tasks then with other trucks.
I have only had to winch my p16 about 1 out of every 20 trips I make with it. Might just be my driving with it idk but which is required more for the 512 if you take it through terrain it is less comfortable with. I route courses through better roads even if it might take longer to minimize chances of something going awry. P16 goes through everything I've sent it though without much question. Biggest problem for it is when there are high bumps that cause the trailer to center. Without the awd it's the only time 9utisde help is usually needed for it

p512 has same tires but smaller
The single rear mud tires aren't the best tires for the P12. It performs much better with dual rear off-road tires.

I've gotten alot of good use out of the P12. Mainly as a crane/recovery truck
From personal usage the p12 is the most capable of the 3 as the AWD really helps when you get into problems

upgrade the engine and transmission, you can carry two loads of medium logs anywhere no problem

Because the truck has the largest fuel tank. Even with the worse fuel economy, it will still last longer on a full tank.
