I have a question. Should I shift around vtec or go by the book like around 4-5k rpms? Looking at the shifting and it numbers seems kinda low. Learning as I go coming from a 7th gen 5 speed so ofc I never had any of this tech before. Book wants 1-2 at like 17mph. 2-3 @ 29mph, 3-4 - 37mph. 4-5 @ 43mph, 5-6 @ 49mph. Thanks.
Yeah, happens with stock exhaust and base tune on these cars. Header, exhaust and a tune really negates a lot of the rev hang though. But it makes the car super easy to drive and learn on! And it's not so bad if your just someone who wants a fun car that is stock, and not crazy about it being all perfect.
@@FrankyJ-n3m0 I had a 3 inch catback Yonoka exhaust, it definitely gave the car a boost and sounds good ! Wasn’t too loud but loud enough when you get on the pedal , plus it’s 3” piping which you always want with a k series ! then again I’m from San Diego CA , police is always looking for them hella loud exhausts , so Yonoka was perfect 👍🏻
@@FrankyJ-n3m0 I see , I would go with anything that is 3 inch piping to get the most out of it , I know Yonoka is one of, and also Full Race is another one , cus other companies are usually 2.5 pipping
It's basically just a shift light. Turns on when Vtec is engaged around 5k rpm then the orange lights follow the revs up until it shows red meaning it's time to shift
Last true VTEC civic
Yes sir
Not really since it only has VTEC on one side of the cams.
Not true: the K20C2 has intake and exhaust VTEC just like this one. This is the last Si with true VTEC, however
@@mattkroening7964Unless he swapped it the K24Z7 which comes factory in the usdm si is only VTEC on one side

Careful in the rain! Sounds great 👍
The vtec shift light is sick. I need one
That rev hang crazy

Does Hondata flash pro also fix the rev hang?@@robertgardner4508
@robertgardner4508 the stock flywheel is still so damn heavy so the rev hang doesn't really go away as much as you would like
The Honda civic one of Hondas best cars ever made absolutely stunning the style
Beautiful dashboard
his vtec kicked in at 5200 they usually kick in around 5900 so he did a Hondata tune , I might be wrong tho
The 8th gen Si will kick it later than the 9th gen. 5200 should be normal for a 2012-2015
I got a 9th gen si and vtec kick at 5000
5700ish I’d say on my 8th
8th gen kicks in at 5800 i believe
Sounds nice bro , I miss the interior of my 9th gen , but I went back to a 8th gen since I had a coupe , and now a sedan , k24z7 sounds nice though 👌🏻
I gotta 9th what's the best sounding exhaust in your opinion???

Shit honestly I'm in Texas and sound doesn't matter how loud you get but I just really wanna have the sound for when I get on it

Sounds nice did you have to do tune or just slapped it on?
I love this car !!!
Honda Needs to at least make the new Type R with VTEC.
Did you mod your engine ? In my civic si the vtec enable at 4000rpm
Any mods cuz the vtec sounds kinda loud 🔥
K&N short ram intake. Makes it way louder
@@lucaskellly I heard it heat soaks a lot
@@loweredstreetculture7033 I haven’t had any heat soak troubles so far.

What exhaust do you have? I can't really hear my VTEC because on my loud exhaust lol
Mine is stock
Dude, How Much Is This Vehicle? Turkey, Greetings, I Would Appreciate It If You Answer.
is it stock?
Can someone explains to me how the vtec gauge works? What the dots and colors mean?
Red is V-tec engaged and orange tells you when to shift

The sounds from that car was actually a gsr teggy lol

Good video, but probably not a good idea to do this in the rain especially on an 80 km/h road...
F1 engine sound
