It may have been six years but I still have the dystopian fucked up image in my head, of Logan Paul vlogging himself in the Aokigahara forest, mocking somebody who was quite literally hanging from a tree before him. And rather than do what any decent person would do, and show compassion and immediately switch off the camera, he recklessly and selfishly exploited it for views. He carried on filming. @@yuugael4010 for the longest time, I don't criticise his videos because I know he appeals to a younger audience. I know if he did actually make an interesting video, his views would plummet. Being overly positive or even overly negative due to what that staff member said is really dumb. You should always use your own perspective and make a judgement of what's really right or wrong to give critisim. Not just blindly follow what's trending now, be it hating or liking someone.
I disagree, I think Chris has a hate boner for "shorts" and anything that looks like "zoomer" content, he is 100% trying to diminish the good Mr beast has done by trying to demonstrate over and over that MrBeast isn't genuine, but it doesn't matter that he isn't, like Connor said, even if it's for personal gain, MrBeast is still helping these people that's what's important. If Mr beast was doing "documentaries" with his videos, he would not be as popular as he is, not everything has to be serious or educational it's fine to make videos for entertainment only.
It does diminish them though. The charity is transparently a cynical ploy for clicks and good press. Some of the “charity” is questionable in itself independently of the motives. Nothing he does is genuinely charitable, it’s all for the algorithm. He’s a genius at YT management but he’s utterly vapid and clearly a ruthless businessman.
Team seas turned out to be a cover, cause Mr Beast literally went on to endorse a plastic bottle product that create much more wastes than he allegedly collected
I’m sure the “passing the baton for #1 most subscribed youtuber” idea is a reference to Smosh doing the exact same thing to Pewds when they were surpassed by Felix. But last time I checked that was Ian and Anthony going out of their way to do that, not some kind of ceremonial duty that manager was trying to imply. It definitely comes off as arrogant that the “new #1” was wanting that from the “old #1”.

The biggest point againts Jimmy is the fact that he uses his "philantropy" project as a backup plan that he can use as his defence against any public acusations. "Well, he might be an awful guy, but hey look he does things for charity!" This is the kind of mentality his team aimed to groom in his fanbase, which also consists mainly of imressionable kids that can't take citicism on their idol. If Mr Beast kills someone, or turn out to be some kind of diddler, his army of brainwashed fans will stand for him like zombies, and that what his team was planning from the beginning, not to "do good things for the people". Also the question is how much money those philantropy projects costs and how much money does he makes profiting from the effects from them? I highly doubt that he ever loses money in general. Overall i can say, the legendary Jacksepticeye was right from the beginning all along, and unsirprisingly so, he's the YT OG he knows how corrupted people can get with money and fame, he definetely seen this shit happend many times over the years.
Hands down. I only truly considered myself a fan of Jimmy after his philantropy videos, but these last months i've felt quite stupid for being a fan and defending him. It feels like he really is entering a villain arc, especially now with him teaming up with Logan and KSI. He is so big that no amount of hate or backlash can hurt him, he will always continue generating wealth, just like Logan and KSI who both started off as great youtubers that now are so big that they can virtually do whatever they want.

A true philanthropist never brings his deeds to a conversation or his defence. And if you do that, then yes you are helping society, but dont act like you are doing out of the goodness of your heart. Its also crazy because anyone who wants to grow in youtube or twitch has it difficult if they dont get along with these big titans. Like imagine connor being friends with ludwig and ludwig being friends with mr beast. Imagine being there if topic of mr beast comes up.
I find it very interesting that a lot of content creators only share their negative opinions about MrBeast after public opinion on him has changed 180 degrees. It just shows how powerful MrBeast's clout is. It's very terrifying to think that if some on the level of MrBeast can get away with a lot of things, just imagine how terrible it could be with people who have even more power than him.
Exactly, people just don't know what can be happening behind the curtain. Not saying that Jimmy will 100% turn out to be "Epstein the Second", but... You just never know with those billionaires.
There also a thing of (a bit of conspiracy here) MrBeast being YT Golden Boy. If you get really on the bad side of his there is an actuall posibility of you getting harsher treatment from the platform. Its just not worth it. But now that the public opinion has changed that threat is sort of gone because everybody says it.
@@nightingale8178I think that’s kinda not true since you know RUclips has shown time and time again that they don’t care how big a creator is on their platform. Yup, but I kinda disagree with Chris' approach with the blindness or ways to "help" even with Mr beast money/resources making a documentary or this stuff that have been done don't really work anymore people wont care, and honestly Mr beast vids albeit feels disenginous actually help more than making a documentary and saying "I care about this..." in the end its better to just defend it if he's good and criticize him he done bad which is now, we dont have to condemn mr beast or "cancel" him.
@@yuugael4010 for the longest time, I don't criticise his videos because I know he appeals to a younger audience. I know if he did actually make an interesting video, his views would plummet. (though I feel his formula won't work forever either)
Mainly, I appreciate them for actually giving valid criticism and having a perspective.
Chris: can I say the C word
Connor: sure..
Said the F word AND the C word back 2 back lol 😂
man i always knew Chris was just above all that bs and this further proved that to me. you can tell he really does care for the art and educational purposes of spreading awareness of the Japanese culture to the world. you can just tell by how genuine his content feels and we need more youtubers like him. keep being you Chris that’s why we love you all so much out here in Japan and around the world!
I also recommend "Only in Japan Go" as another English Japan channel. Very educational and takes you to different places on his live stream. 🫡
Chris openly complains about how he needs to videos to get millions of views for him to make money. He literally admitted that he makes his video titles and thumbnails as clickbaity as possible to maximise the money that he makes. Chris is very much a businessman first.

Connor was holding back completely because he simps for mrBeast money.
I like how Chris is just saying what Jack was saying but in 10 minutes instead of 10 seconds
It's like an early 1900s philanthrophist. "Yeah I might be mining all the crude oil out of the ground and underpaying employees and making infinite money, but look, my charity foundation is building schools in africa, and thus you cannot say anything bad about me."
3:25 Connor is so hesitant here cuz he has also done a lot of philanthropy and he once expressed his disappointment about a guy asking his philanthropy’s details and other things via email

He tells it like it is, and shows no mercy 😂😅
A true philanthropist never brings his deeds to a conversation or his defence. And if you do that, then yes you are helping society, but dont act like you are doing out of the goodness of your heart. Its also crazy because anyone who wants to grow in youtube or twitch has it difficult if they dont get along with these big titans.
Like look at pewdiepie he was the biggest but yt didn’t care, T series has its fair share of disagreements with yt.. so even you are the biggest yt doesn’t care cuz no matter how they earn money. So inside harassment is not really a possibility
I think many people inately feel that way towards his videos. I personally hated his content ever since he was in my radar. But I at least appreciate his philanthropist behaviours and just hoped that he at least do care and try to tackle issues.
@@knaditya8228 because YT never liked Pewds. He had numerous butins with the platform while he was at the top. MrBeast was always the Golden Goose. Its not that mr beast is untouchable because he is the biggest but because he is the biggest in reach and also the biggest cashcow.

No he clearly doesn't lmao he was in agreement the entire time
This is why I respect Chris so much. He knows that creating a channel that honestly seeks to educate and empower the people he is covering and the country he lives in, is what you should be doing. If you simply go out to enrich yourself, then it shows in the product. For instance, I started watching Connor’s videos when I was taking my younger nephew to Japan with me. He has autism and he loved Connor‘s crane game videos. We were able to put together an itinerary based on a lot of what Connor did that made him happy and kept him calm. I couldn’t do that with Logan Paul or MrBeast.
