This TTArtisan 27mm/f2.8 lens is a wonderful addition to my gear. It's so compact that I can take it with me during my daily commute without any hassle. The light weight is a huge advantage. The pictures it takes are sharp and have great color reproduction. The little bit of vignetting and swirl gives my photos an artistic touch. The autofocus is smooth, and the design of the lens, especially the upgrade interface on the lens cap, is really nice. It's also great for getting some beautiful bokeh when shooting portraits or close-up details.
After some considerable delays in finding one, I finally mate get my hands on the Fujifilm XF27mm f2.8 WR and I love this lens. I have it on my X-T5 and use it for street photography which is a good focal choice for my type of photography. It also makes the camera much more compact than it would be if I was using the kit zoom lens. 🏴 I have no complaints… other than Fuji needs to improve the X-T5 & X100VI’s autofocus in general.
Yay! So glad you got a copy of this lens and that’s it’s working well for you. I’ve read that Fujifilm will have a firmware update for most of the 5th gen cameras in a month or so. Here’s hoping!
Bonjour, j'utilise très souvent cet objectif avec mon XT5 quand je fais une sortie photo "légère" et sans but prévu au départ. Agréable et léger. Merci pour les vidéos !
I'm a telephoto /zoom shooter using my XS20 & XT4. Bought the 27 f2.8 R WR after a lengthy search & really enjoy using it on either camera. May have to dig up my 23 f1.4 LM R WR prime now also. I normally leave the 27 at f8, not sure why, but it works. Focus noise, never gave it any thought. Don't shoot video. Was shooting some trees in a park at sunrise recently & turned the camera to portrait mode & focus started to hunt for some reason. Tapped the joy stick on the XS20 & it stopped & took the shots. Hasn't done it since . I know where there is a brand new 27 in Montreal if anyone needs one.(I'm in Ontario near Niagara Falls.)
Before the pandemic I was chatting up a Fuji rep at Pro Photo Supply down here in Portland over my very taped up X100F Street Rat and he told me the 27mm was designed specifically for the X-Pro series. The complimentary lens is the XF 18/2. Between the 2, it’s a very nimble setup for the time. I’ve hoped to get a WR version to replace the original but it will wait. I’ve found it to be a razor of a lens on an X-Pro3 and apart from its noisy, quirky AF, is a favorite.
Good video Michael (really nice images). For the once in a while when I’m doing street “stuff” (and not photographing iguanas with the XF70-300), I’ve given the XF16-80 a break and I’m going out with the lighter and smaller XF16-50 (really good lens). It’s not very likely that I’ll find myself stuck with a prime, but I do have the XF23 f/2 and the XF33 f/1.4 so this focal length (27mm) isn't something very useful for me, with the other two primes (23 and 33) I can always take a step forward (or backwards), having said that, I do appreciate that this lens was made to the specifications of the IHOP. Be well.
Love your videos! I also found the lens to be way too noisy for video in Continuous Focus, but when I've needed to grab some quick video, I've had success focusing manually. I was surprised at the sharpness of this lens. As in your photos, I've found that it works well with flowers creating a pleasing background.
Hi! Thanks so much for watching and your kind words. The 27mm is such an interesting lens - lots of character in the images, it’s (possibly) compromised in performance by both its relative age and limitations of its size. Fun lens to use in the “right” situation… Cheers!
Hello and thanks so much for watching! The TTartisan is a really great (and available!) alternative. I hope you have lots of fun creating photos with it. Cheers!
I ordered one from Adorama in late Sept. Website it was back ordered but usually ships in 2-3 weeks. To my surprise, it shipped in 2 weeks. In case anyone is looking for it.

Great lens. It’s my favorite lens. This is the lens that’s on my xt5 most of the time.

Made me laugh with the IHOP comment! Thanks, as always.

Great video. I am looking into getting this lens, but I may have to settle for the ttartisan because I can't find the fujifilm one.

That’s wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing this tip.
its a good compact lens for street photography, but the minimum focus is slacking and wish the lens was a 2.0
I agree, but guessing that adding those feature would make the lens larger, heavier and more expensive.
What camera did you put it on?
Hi! I used the X-H2S. Thanks for asking!
@@MSladekPhoto Thanks. I'm pondering Fuiji options and like the idea of a pancake on an XT body of some sort as a 'walkaround' package.
@@jandekker6008 I use the 27mm on my xt30. Very low profile.
