- Cameron Vaughan expected to see the teenager convicted of raping her sent to prison. However, she was horrified when Judge Robert Adrian quashed the guilty verdict and set him free. The 18-year-old suspect, Drew Clinton, was found guilty of rape by the judge. However, the judge later announced that he was reversing the verdict and found the accused rapist not guilty. After a public outcry, he was removed from the bench. Inside Edition’s Ann Mercogliano has more.

If you look at why the judge overturned his ruling, additional evidence came out after the trial, before sentencing, where the victim supposedly told people that she had a pillow pushed on her face when she woke up, but she was able to push Clinton away before anything sexual occurred. She supposedly told her father she was not raped.
The problem is the prosecution only went with the rape charge. They did not charge sexual assault or even simple assault. You can't convict a person of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt if the victim goes around after the trial and tells people the crime didn’t happen.
For prosecutors: Charge everything you possibly can and hope one of the lesser included offenses stick.
For victims: keep your mouths shut. Especially if you win. Anything you say can be used on appeal.

Actually a wise comment. And yes, totally agree on "charge everything you possibly can, even lesser offenses." I've seen videos showing literal murderers that got away with 0 jail time just because an incompetent (& probably inexperienced) prosecutor only charged 1st degree murder and not 2nd degree as well as manslaughter. Might as well throw it all on there so the Jury can fall back on a lesser charge if necessary

exactly. Inside edition frequently has this sort of dishonest reporting, where they try and paint a story the way they want. In this case, the facts seem to be that the judge found him not guilty, so he did nothing wrong there. It was his job to decide whether the evidence was enough to convince him of guilt, and it didn't. People act as if this woman is definitely telling the truth and that guy was definitely guilty. But we don't know that.
Plus false rape allegations have increased in number of late from bible times between portiphars wife against Joseph.

Curious where you're getting this information from? Because the ex judge's statement on his reversal was that she was "voluntarily intoxicated" and was "swimming in the pool in her underwear" earlier that day, so, his argument is that it was consensual, and not that there was no rape at all.
Also, the commission that removed him from the bench said they found the ex-judge lied several times under oath.
Did it actually happen though? That’s the problem, can’t tell anymore because so many accusers LIED
What I dont understand is why the judge did not find him not guilty in the first place, thus avoiding a reversal. For all we know maybe the guy is truly innocent and the judge realized it after
Obviously that is not the story Inside Edition is selling, it is "believe all women".
There is actually a good chance that the guy is innocent, or at least his guilt was not proved beyond reasonable doubt.
Most likely his parents bought the judge
He didn't want to charge him in the first place. From what I've been reading, he may have planned to reverse the decision from start, 1. so the case is expunged from Drew Cameron's records and 2. so the state can't charge him again for the same thing.
Unfortunately for the ex judge, the Illinois Courts Commission found enough evidence for "egregious misconduct" and "thwarting of the law" to remove him from the bench.
