- In a football world increasingly forgetful of the past this channel is dedicated to keeping the memory of the Laudrups' (and a few other players') beautiful skill on the pitch alive
The right foot to left foot dribble is Laudrup's signature move. Absolutely brilliant to watch. And his passing and vision were prob the best ever. Had he and Van Basten played in the Internet age, they'll both be more famous than they are now. I was fortunate to watch them play in their prime. Absolute legends.
I'm confused here people...either Michael Laudrup fans happen to make the best compilation videos on youtube, or Michael laudrup is the greatest player of all-time!....the more I watch, the more I'm leaning towards the latter. Holy shit!!! I always held him in high esteem, but I have to say...after several years of watching highlights on this site I'm convinced he was greatest of them all. He has to be craftiest player ever! Stregth, speed, vision, guile....he had it all.
LEGEND!
He was a very elegant and smart player, with great game vision and amazing passing skills. Many players in the following generations has been inspired by him.
Still my favorite Michael Laudrup video out there and my favorite football video as well. Players like him are only born once, I wish I was born somewhere in the 80's so I could see him play
The best player I've ever seen and I saw quite a few good players like Baggio, Ronaldo (Fat one, the one and only Ronaldo), Hagi, Zidane and a bit of Maradona. In years to come, with nostalgia I can say I saw him play and nobody can get that away from those lucky ones like us who saw him. Thank you Michael for all those moments of sheer brilliance!
One of the most underrated players in football.
So thats why iniesta said laudrup was his inspiration. I can see so much of laudrup in iniesta's game. The right to left foot dribble, the through balls, amazing.
all i can say is Laudrup is a legend!
The only player that can bring tears to my eyes amazing just amazing
5:13 best piece of football ever. What a run, what a vision. Three opponents are left startled. The rest are left amazed.
He made a simple trick amazing.
Just imagine Michael plays in the Galactics era with Zizou & in Barca in the time of Iniesta & Xavi... Two teams totally unmatchable !!! What I prefer in Michael's game are his "no-look Magic Johnson" passes & his aerian passes too. Just beautiful amazing & a form of Art !!! Sorry for my poor English... A french fan of the Laudrup's bross 😉 Many thanks for the up' 👍👍👍
the problem with these people is they don't appreciate this side of the game laudrup made difficult things look easy whereas players like neymar make easy things look hard
If you can go through a career without getting a red card, without ever bringing the beautiful game in miscredit i.e yelling at referees or filming and still bringing that kind of excitement you are gift to football
Of the players I saw play & this includes Maradona & i'm a Napoli fan mind you, there have been none equal to Laudrup, save for Maradona himslef & a very select few, not Messi, certainly not C.Ronaldo, I'm talking Zidane, Baggio, that level. Had Laudrup been Brazilian or Argentinian I think more people would be talking about him in a different light. You just need to see the calibre of players that have named him the best they've ever seen, that alone speaks for itself ! Magic, just pure magic !
knightridres you're so fucking right!👌
9 years later would you still like to say certainly not cr7? 2014,2016,2017,2018 Champions League wins all after your comment. Laudrup can’t even hold his left boot. Messi and ronaldo are in a level of their own
@@jjjyli686 my computer can read stats. Learn a bit about football itself ! Not just numbers.
That move where he controls the ball with both feet quickly is brilliant. He makes it look so effortless.
If laudrup would have been an argentine or a brazilian, one would appreciate him much more! In my eyes one of he most talented football players ever....his vision and passing skill is second to none
The most frustrating thing about watching a Laudrup video is seeing his teammates screw up the opportunities he gave them.
I watched maybe 80% of the Barcelona games when Laudrup played there and pretty much all the games from his first season at Real Madrid (wasn't able to watch Spanish football during his second season)
Laudrup was always impressive and he rarely let you down. At Camp Nou they had a huge banner that said "Enjoy Laudrup" which was up during every game.
To call him inconsistent is a poor excuse for lack of football knowledge.
If he was Brazilian, English, Italian etc, his hype would have no end.
This is art!!
The Dream Team was Michael Laudrup. Without him nothing would have been possible. Do you imagine Laudrup in today's Barca? My god!.
No one will be even close to his vision and his passes. Magic
Laudrup and Schmeichel are the best Danish footballplayers ever... Legends in my eyes as I am Danish myself.
Michael Laudrup and Brian Laudrup and I’m with You.. Allan Simonsen was pure joy to watch as well, but not quite the same though. Maradona is still the best ever though.. Even in the discipline M. Laudrup otherwise rule Vision and the passing.. Brian Laudrup was though more influential formthe danish national team. If Michael Laudrup would have been ranked right up there among the best og the best being a brazilian (and to me he is in top 5 of all time!) then Brian Laudrup would certainly also have enjoyed similar recognition if he had been a bit more picky clubwise. But ad elegantiers on the pitch NOBODY comes close to the Laudrups!
M. Laudrup, Jesper Olsen adnd Simonsen were the best
bedste danske fodboldspiller nogensinde.
Can't tell who is the best footballer ever, but Laudrup is up there. He surely is the most elegant player ever!
Michael Laudrup, Ronaldo Fenomeno, Zinedine Zidane, Roberto Baggio and Romário are the best players of the 90's
and Rivaldo
Roberto Carlos, Paolo Maldini?
Abnsdllnnlosnfd Yeah, Rivaldo and Figo deserve a mention too
Hagi, Stoijkovic,Stoijkov,Okocha, Weah,et surtout MAtHAUS?
Bergkamp?
best fotball player of all time
Guardiola: "The best player in the world, I can't believe he hasn't won the title as best player."
Beckenbauer: "Pelé was the best in the 60s, Cruyff in the 70s, Maradona in the 80s and Laudrup in the 90s."
Iniesta: "Who is the best player in history? Laudrup."
Hello Michael, sorry i don't like you, But i love you.You are the greatest football play ever. ICH LIEBE FUSSBALL.
One of the most intelligent and skillful players to ever play the beautiful game.
possibly my favourite player
My favourite player ever
I enjoyed with this player, I have never liked Barcelona when I was a teenager, my favourite team is Real Madrid, but Laudrup was a great player. His plays was fantastics, nice for viewing. I don´t know if Michael was the best player in 90´s, maybe. When Laudrup joined Real Madrid, I was the happiest man in the world
I am danish and I so so miss him.
He was such a joy to watch.
We will never see anything at this level again I guess.
If not the goat then at least in top 5.
i wish you all the best Michael - And thank you for all the great memories!
Imagine 2 brothers being that gifted
Jesus I knew Laudrup was good but considering most players & coaches said he'd give 80-90%, imagine what he would of been like at 100%. Damn I'll take 80-90% of his awesomeness.
5:20 back heel pass.. Wazzaaa!!!
Just wow, I mean bakers belive. The ability to read the game so far ahead, and make the pass with such surgical precision that it baffles even the striker, suddenly being through on goal.
He was special.
Amazing Laudrup!
Laudrup easily one of the best midfielders i've seen, class.
So this is iniestas and xavi inspiration!! Hes such an artist in soccer!!
Come on, Messi is brilliant. He does things that only few playes in history have done. And yes, his success has alot to do with Barca being so good the last five years or so. They set him up perfectly to score his many goals.
Laudrup was a very different player. Messi goes for goal, Laudrup went for the pass. Messi is efficient, Laudrup was an artist.
I enjoy Laudrup the most because he played the game like nobody else, did things out of this world. But Messi is great, no doubt.
5:15 ..pure class, technique & elegance.... my favourite soccer player of all time...
what a GOD
Everybody loves Laudrup! Incredibal skill and played for both Real And Barca!
And for every danish person he truly is a legend!
Once again, great video! Thank you for keep the Laudrup legend alive! \o/
I don't think anyone has ever made football look this easy.
iniesta and michael laudrup's playing style looks very similar, especially in the way they glide over tackles with ball glued to their feet.
The differents is, there hours and hours with Michael Laudrup. He played like this in every single game he played. What Xavi creates in a season Laudrup creates in one single game!
When it comes to passing, positioning and overview, no one will ever beat Laudrup. Truly the best midfielder even seen on the pitch!
You can so easily see how Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas, Guti... in truth all the great playmakers of modern football, was influenced by Laudrup. A true great
His ability to keep the ball so close to him all the time is just amazing! He's not trying to be fancy, he is just handling the ball with perfect control and passing it with tremendous precision.
Laudrup, the world best football player ever...
To bad he never won Ballon'Dor!
This is Messi before Messi was born. Michael du er den bedste nogensinde!
shit i just heard of this guy tonight during a drunken debate of the two best midfielders of all time, i said scholes and zidane but this guy... fuck i must have been living under a rock...
awesome - and not a single stepover :)
amazing
@laudrup218 0:00 ~ 11:00 Pure class, technique & elegance.
Kong Michael.
Wish Ronaldo and Laudrup play together. Ronaldo would have score 70 goal that season 1996.
Used the simplest of skills and always looked for a pass to his teammates made him one of the best footballer to ever grace the football pitch.
It's difficult to understand why so many modern players attempts fancy skills they can't pull of in a match and never considers passing the ball.
In regards of creativity and vision on the pitch. Noone matches Michael Laudrup. Almost as if he could see the pitch from above in slow motion. A couble of elegant dribbles, a devastating pass through the defence and GOAL. Sure, there are move technical accomplished players who've scored more goals. But as a playmaker, a creator on the field, noone matches his skills. El genio.
Legend!!
It's a shame Laudrup never won the title Ballon d'or. I think there is two reasons 1. Laudrup was too unselfish. 2. He is from Denmark whitch is a tiny, tiny country. We're only 5.5 million people yet we have had 2 of of the greatest players in the historie - Peter Schmeichel and Michael Laudrup.
Thanks for video keep going 🤠 greeting from Morocco
Very elegant player with natural talent. His brother Brian was also a really good player.
Michael Laudrup is the Muhammed Ali of soccer!!! The most elegant medfielder ever!!!
He is born to be a legend.
In five years playing for Barcelona, he never lost a single game in training. All players wanted to be in his team. Pep Guardiola once said that Cruyff's instructions were: to defenders, get the ball to Guardiola, and Guardiola's job was to give to "el bueno" (the good player, as Cruyff would say). Laudrup participated in 75% of the goals or any attacking moves.
Iniesta can side shuffle well... Michael Laudrup does it perfectly
it is impossible to compare players across generations. fact is people have foggy impressions of the past. great players become myths and such. but michael laudrup was an absolute legend of a playmaker. elegant and instinctive passing. let us keep it at that without needing silly comparisons.
Ele era espetacular,gênio fora de série!
My favourite player ever.
Fantastic video llaauuddrruupp - Thank you!
I don't know if it has been mentioned before but the song used for this video is
God Is An Astronaut - Loss
I wish he was wearing a number 10 in Barcelona, it would have fit him so good
I am 38 years old. I barely watch ML when I was younger, obviously he was a great midfield player.
Best YT comment ever.
CR7 and Messi would not stand up to Laudrup if he was playing today.
Yes he is Danish and Denmark is awesome!!!
He did! He's a big fan of Laudrup!
Imagine him playing with messi...
best player to have on your team when attacking
1. Messi
2. Laudrup
Best up-front midfielder in the history of football
I just find it funny that, 1 season he wins the spanish championship with Barcelona, he then changes to Real Madrid the next season, and wins it with them... That is just awesome. I like him because a) he must be the player with the best overview and understanding of the game and how the ball moves and how he can move it, ever. b) In all the matches I saw him play I haven't seen him throw a fit, or act to get a freekick/penalty, keep acting for theater and movies please.
waaay better than messi,...an artist, mr laudrup
great video
I think the reason why most players never scored from laudrup's assists was because they were absolutely stunned by his amazing vision
QUE GRANDE LAUDRUP, EL MEJOR JUGADOR DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS!!!!!!!!
Master and gentleman
Silva and Iniesta are big fans of Laudrup.. Good luck coaching Swansea Laudrup! Hope he does well :).
People shower Messi with glory..
Pelé, Maradona, Mueller, Beckenbaur, Laudrup.
Used a leather ball that weighed 3 times as much. 5 times as much in the rain. That was harder to kick, harder to get the speed on and gave goal keepers time to react. Undoubtfully, Messi is incredible. But he is not a strain better than these old guys.
iniesta said laundrup is one of his favourite footballers. i can't remember the other one. maybe he tried to adopt his game to be like laundrup. haha
Does anybody know what the music used in this video is?
Btw. Laudrup is and will always be a legend.
Crueff did bench him,not because he was playing bad, but because cruyff wants 100 procent, but when michael gives 80-90 procent he is still by far the best, thats the main reason he left barca, and the dreamteam ended with him
An often mentioned, but not entirely correct rumor. Laudrup himself confirmed in an interview with BBC that he had no issue with Cruyff nor did he have one with him. The reason why Laudrup lost playing time was because Barcelona's team at the time was filled with players from the Spanish national team, whom had preferencial status in terms of playing time. Real Madrid however, only had few players that played for national sides, so the prospect for playing time was just better there. Cruyff never doubted his ability or stamina.
@chubnostics - I'm sure he could have been voted player of the year at least once, and maybe twice. But certain things worked against that: His efforts not to draw attention to himself, the danish national team's failure to reach a number of championships, and last but not least his refusal to play for Denmark for a period, which meant that the 1992 european championship was won without Michael Laudrup in the team.
@Eskidead I couldn't agree more. The best and most elegant player I've ever seen. Maybe he was too unselfish.
One of the handful of players who helped shape the game.
I personally rate him as the worlds best midfielder ever. Iniesta, xavi, pirlo, ronaldihino etc dont come close.
i love that barça shirt from 1993-1994..such a nice lookin shirt
