The right foot to left foot dribble is Laudrup's signature move. Absolutely brilliant to watch. And his passing and vision were prob the best ever. Had he and Van Basten played in the Internet age, they'll both be more famous than they are now. I was fortunate to watch them play in their prime. Absolute legends.

I'm confused here people...either Michael Laudrup fans happen to make the best compilation videos on youtube, or Michael laudrup is the greatest player of all-time!....the more I watch, the more I'm leaning towards the latter. Holy shit!!! I always held him in high esteem, but I have to say...after several years of watching highlights on this site I'm convinced he was greatest of them all. He has to be craftiest player ever! Stregth, speed, vision, guile....he had it all.
    LEGEND!

The best player I've ever seen and I saw quite a few good players like Baggio, Ronaldo (Fat one, the one and only Ronaldo), Hagi, Zidane and a bit of Maradona. In years to come, with nostalgia I can say I saw him play and nobody can get that away from those lucky ones like us who saw him. Thank you Michael for all those moments of sheer brilliance!

Just imagine Michael plays in the Galactics era with Zizou & in Barca in the time of Iniesta & Xavi... Two teams totally unmatchable !!! What I prefer in Michael's game are his "no-look Magic Johnson" passes & his aerian passes too. Just beautiful amazing & a form of Art !!! Sorry for my poor English... A french fan of the Laudrup's bross 😉 Many thanks for the up' 👍👍👍

Of the players I saw play & this includes Maradona & i'm a Napoli fan mind you, there have been none equal to Laudrup, save for Maradona himslef & a very select few, not Messi, certainly not C.Ronaldo, I'm talking Zidane, Baggio, that level. Had Laudrup been Brazilian or Argentinian I think more people would be talking about him in a different light. You just need to see the calibre of players that have named him the best they've ever seen, that alone speaks for itself ! Magic, just pure magic !

The most frustrating thing about watching a Laudrup video is seeing his teammates screw up the opportunities he gave them.

  • @Hammerhook12
    @Hammerhook12 11 лет назад +12

I watched maybe 80% of the Barcelona games when Laudrup played there and pretty much all the games from his first season at Real Madrid (wasn't able to watch Spanish football during his second season)
Laudrup was always impressive and he rarely let you down. At Camp Nou they had a huge banner that said "Enjoy Laudrup" which was up during every game.
To call him inconsistent is a poor excuse for lack of football knowledge.
If he was Brazilian, English, Italian etc, his hype would have no end.

Michael Laudrup and Brian Laudrup and I’m with You.. Allan Simonsen was pure joy to watch as well, but not quite the same though. Maradona is still the best ever though.. Even in the discipline M. Laudrup otherwise rule Vision and the passing.. Brian Laudrup was though more influential formthe danish national team. If Michael Laudrup would have been ranked right up there among the best og the best being a brazilian (and to me he is in top 5 of all time!) then Brian Laudrup would certainly also have enjoyed similar recognition if he had been a bit more picky clubwise. But ad elegantiers on the pitch NOBODY comes close to the Laudrups!

Come on, Messi is brilliant. He does things that only few playes in history have done. And yes, his success has alot to do with Barca being so good the last five years or so. They set him up perfectly to score his many goals.
Laudrup was a very different player. Messi goes for goal, Laudrup went for the pass. Messi is efficient, Laudrup was an artist.
I enjoy Laudrup the most because he played the game like nobody else, did things out of this world. But Messi is great, no doubt.

In regards of creativity and vision on the pitch. Noone matches Michael Laudrup. Almost as if he could see the pitch from above in slow motion. A couble of elegant dribbles, a devastating pass through the defence and GOAL. Sure, there are move technical accomplished players who've scored more goals. But as a playmaker, a creator on the field, noone matches his skills. El genio.

In five years playing for Barcelona, he never lost a single game in training. All players wanted to be in his team. Pep Guardiola once said that Cruyff's instructions were: to defenders, get the ball to Guardiola, and Guardiola's job was to give to "el bueno" (the good player, as Cruyff would say). Laudrup participated in 75% of the goals or any attacking moves.

    Pelé, Maradona, Mueller, Beckenbaur, Laudrup.
Used a leather ball that weighed 3 times as much. 5 times as much in the rain. That was harder to kick, harder to get the speed on and gave goal keepers time to react. Undoubtfully, Messi is incredible. But he is not a strain better than these old guys.

An often mentioned, but not entirely correct rumor. Laudrup himself confirmed in an interview with BBC that he had no issue with Cruyff nor did he have one with him. The reason why Laudrup lost playing time was because Barcelona's team at the time was filled with players from the Spanish national team, whom had preferencial status in terms of playing time. Real Madrid however, only had few players that played for national sides, so the prospect for playing time was just better there. Cruyff never doubted his ability or stamina.

  • @1afverassommervenner

@chubnostics - I'm sure he could have been voted player of the year at least once, and maybe twice. But certain things worked against that: His efforts not to draw attention to himself, the danish national team's failure to reach a number of championships, and last but not least his refusal to play for Denmark for a period, which meant that the 1992 european championship was won without Michael Laudrup in the team.
