For the serious simmer and enthusiast! After experiencing the GNS 530 I was keen to try out the G1000 and it didn't dissappoint. Flying mouse free seemed so natural.
Thank you Mark for reviewing this product. As always, you have been able to explain all the details and highlight all the potential of the product with a language that even a child understands. You were so good that you convinced me to place the order. I ordered 2 panels plus the central audio panel with its metal supports, in short, the complete kit. The order total plus UPS shipping to Germany was $1,613.36 which is approximately €1,460 or £1,276 at the exchange rate. To this sum I will have to add the VAT which in Germany is equal to 19% and perhaps other customs taxes.. I am an ATPL student and flying hours cost a lot. I currently fly the DA-40NG which is instrumented with the G1000. Soon I will start the IFR flight lessons and I will have to know how to use the G1000 very well. In fact, if the instructor judges a flight mission in a negative way, I will have to repeat the flight lesson (we are talking about €500 per hour..) It is self-evident that having invested this sum in this hardware will certainly lead me to save a lot of money, since learning all the functions of the G1000 is not quick and easy. The possibility of being able to interact with the simulator with this hardware, instead of just using the mouse and keyboard, is priceless. And let's be honest, when we invest in hardware peripherals for our PCs to use with our simulators, these are the components that we very rarely replace. For example 11 years ago I bought my Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog and it's still here with me, still running like an original Swiss watch. Thanks again Mark, bye and see you next video!
A much cheaper and more versatile solution is Air Manager with a knobster. Been flying mouse less for years with this solution. It overcomes the cost issue and means you are not stuck with only the G1000 which is great if you like to fly other aircraft types such as one of the many steam gauge aircraft.

THANK YOU SO MUCH i had no idea there was something like Knobster... this is exactly what i need for flying vr
I know this video is old but I agree with you 1000%. I use Air Manager with two 15" touch screens and 2 Knobsters. I can configure the touch screens to replicate virtually any aircraft panel I want, from steam gauges to G1000, for much less $$ than a single one of these G1000 dedicated panels. Although I will say these panels do look REALLY NICE.
Just made my first pruchase of the G1000, referenced SimHanger as my motaviation. Thank you Mark, for the excellent information. I wish you a Great Ho, Ho, Ho.
I run a triple monitor set up so the G1000 would show up as a fourth I recon. I have Propwash sim panels for AP, 2 radio's, Transponder, PWS 530 GPS but these look magnificent!
Your video still helping people! About to set up the FlightSimBuilder G1000 suite with honeycomb A&B, logi pedals. Set into a #FlightVelocity panel. All running to 3x 55” LG 4K TVs. Appreciate the simplified walkthrough. It calmed my nerves - been dreading this last part before up fully operational. 🙌
Thanks very much again Mark for this excellent review. I fear I won't have enough place on my desk since I already have my CockpitMaster 737 CDU+MCP+EFIS panel. Flying the G36 with these G1000Nxi is certainly fantastic. Sincerely yours
Very nice panels indeed. A nice step up from my small touch screen device. A little pricey for me at the moment, but certainly something to sim for. Thanks for the video Mark.
Fantastic bit of kit. I have already purchased the G530 although still waiting for delivery, but a pair of these really look like the next purchase!! Great review Mark!
Find a desk keyboard elevator… one of those standing desks, that goes on a table to elevate the keyboard and monitor… it makes a great stand for these in front of the monitor. Another bonus, when you raise the stand, you can mount the yoke just under it to help hold it in place.
@@SimHangerFS mine is mounted above the desk. It is covered with a standup desktop computer lift. Place the yoke and throttle under the keyboard section and lower the lift to the top of the yoke. I use the Alpha yoke and throttle. I then place the dual G1000s where the keyboard would go, and the monitor set to just above the G1000s. It is the perfect convertible desktop simulator. Bonus- If you mount your rudder peddles on a Drive Pro Stand, you can have your fighter throttle and stick up and usable in seconds by just folding them up or down and out of the way when you want a change of control system. I do this for VR. Works great. They also make a keyboard desk attachment that swings out of the way. I put my keyboard on it, and mouse on the open mount platform for the drive stand. It provides a mouse pad right in front of the Alpha yoke. Everything can be moved out of the way in seconds to make the room into a standing VR entertainment room. With a circular mat so you know where you are standing in VR.
@@SimHangerFS The Thrust Master rudders are still the best on the market because dirt doesn’t fall into the sliding mechanisms of all the others. (I have tried them all) Drive Stand makes the best convertible flight control mounting system. You can remove controls and fold the posts down, then slide the rudders forward to use the Alpha yoke and throttles. I have a seven channel USB port for the G1000s and controllers. It is mounted next to the monitor lift for easy exchange of controllers. All of this is on a cheep IKEA basic white table that can hardly be seen with everything mounted to it. I don’t want a single type cockpit set up because I fly so many different planes and helicopters. This lets me change quickly if I get board with a type of aircraft, civil, military, helicopter… DCS, MSFS, X-Plane, etc…
Great review Mark, I am also using the G1000 dual set, but from SimGauges, I love to fly IFR procedural approaches with G1000 set. It is great for learning and practicing real-life scenarios in a sim before the real flight. btw. the MSFS g1000 is becoming great with each update.
Ah great, I was hoping you would come up with a video on this. Thanks a lot, this is now on top of my aniwic-list (acquisitions not involving wife’s irrelevant consent). Great video, thanks!
Was hoping they'd sell one without a screen for VR users. I can see enough through the nose gap to know what buttons I'm pressing and would love one of these.
I agree, I use VF g100 bought before switching to vr, you quickly get use to finding the switches. Wince at how much it cost but still use with screens turned off. A cheaper bevel only option would be popular, perhaps g3000 also?
I just recently purchased the GNS 530 and it hasn't taken me long to get used to locating the buttons and knobs in VR. I'm so glad I bought it as it makes things so much better, especially for Vatsim flights.

I guess since these screens are not touch as far as I know only AirManager gauges that dont need manual input like ASI would make sense to use as an alternative to the G1000. OBS, VOR, altimeter that you would use a knobster for obviously would need mouse input instead.
Hi Mark. Do you know if I have to duplicate the MFD in the device in order to run it? The question is because I need only the buttons when using the VR set and I would like not to load the computer CPU/ GPU with another display. Thanks for the video.
High mark had a question. Since I got my RTX 3070 card I moved all of my settings up to your high-rated on one of your pass videos. Occasionally I will get a jerky movement. It’s starting to make me angry when I see manufacturers almost sabotaging their potentially good products by tefusing to use usb type c. It’s 2023…not 2009…
Have a G2, had an Oculus CV1 and have to disagree, VR totally breaks immersion, its development is as stagnant as 3D TV. Until they redesign that ridiculous VR headset into something ''Google Glass'', its always going to be niche and nasty.
Nowadays, your videos seem to be only about expansive pieces of kit, and you find all of them fantastic. This channel has become pointless for me. Good bye.

Mmm…Not sure about that…..SimBuilder: PFD + MFD screens + audio = 2514. RSG: same combination = 2199 (formerly 2486)…….competition cheaper……
Do they only work with civial aircraft or will they work as mfds for the a320 as well
@@dotnetdevni they are designed to work with any aircraft that has a GNS unit. A320 - no.
Nice product, but quite expensive. Some day
the only thing i have grips with why cant fhe usb be used to power
@@dotnetdevni yes, an extra cable needed, due to power required to run what is effectively a small monitor.
can you play flight sim on xbox series x using honeycomb xpc yoke and throttle and use the xbox controller and a keyboard. Do you have to turn off the xbox controller to use the keyboard. can't get my keyboard to work
You can use them together. Check keyboard connection / compatibility
I hope i win, as always a usefull and informative video! Wish I had one of these!
Can it work with XBox?
No unfortunately not compatible
Am I able to use this on Xbox?
Unfortunately not
What is the size Of the Screen ??
Roughly 21cm x 16cm
Thanks
Viewed this on my regular music content
Gained a sub for watching everything in full, very knowledgeable and very cool!
Will watch more, checking out now if you reviewed any Chopper Peripherals.
Does it work with the Xbox?
Unfortunately not
Nice bit of kit ... but I find that any peripheral like this would actually break immersion for me as I'd need to look "outside" the sim. I'm probably in the minority but anyone is welcome to send me one so I can test just to be sure! :D
😂
This video from FlightSimBuilder shows how to use this G1000 unit with other GPS units in the sim. Pretty awesome. ruclips.net/video/JylA-YNwpHo/видео.html
Thanks to your link and Mark's excellent review I ordered the G1000 suite yesterday. By the time I costed the Simionic option with two new 10.2" iPads etc... the FlightSimBuilder setup actually was a few $Aud cheaper including shipping to Australia. Thank you Mark and @dhop55.
Dear Santa...
Its a shame they didnt make it interoperability with custom bezzels for a320 737s cause still not a decent out of box mfds solutions
Does this work for Xbox ??
@@PilotAZ unfortunately not at this time.
It’s starting to make me angry when I see manufacturers almost sabotaging their potentially good products by tefusing to use usb type c. It’s 2023…not 2009…
This I really agree with. Would be so much easier connectionwise and less ugly cables.
3.13-3.18 watch closely
Nice product, but it's a hard pass for most people playing games.
US$1,000.00. Seriously?
Save your money and start investing in VR, you'll never go back.
Have a G2, had an Oculus CV1 and have to disagree, VR totally breaks immersion, its development is as stagnant as 3D TV. Until they redesign that ridiculous VR headset into something ''Google Glass'', its always going to be niche and nasty.
@@davewills6121 Sorry you can't afford the ridiculous hardware required to run it well. Keep Saving.
@@Wilem35 VR in flight/space sims is retarded, you know 1st hand im sure. Chuck
Looks pretty cool but this is simply waaaay overpriced
Nowadays, your videos seem to be only about expansive pieces of kit, and you find all of them fantastic. This channel has become pointless for me. Good bye.
Flight simming is an expensive hobby 😑
That is a game changer I hope to have one of that someday nice video🫡
