Man, as someone that started off with the Replicas/Swingmans, I now only buy Authentic Jerseys and Shorts, huge difference, so much more comfortable and just feeling like you are wearing exactly what the players wear is a great feeling, I will pay the $150 more for the quality and beauty of authentic mlb and nba jerseys for sure.
I remember going to the Mitchell and Ness store in Philly and I almost bought a pair of authentic shorts. However, I saw that they didn't come with pockets and didn't buy them. Those shorts kinda remind me of the Adidas swingman shorts from back in the day. I bought a few pairs of those, but even though they weren't authentic, those also didn't come with pockets.
Interesting video. I would also be interested in knowing about the sizing difference between the two. Regarding the authentic, a good tailor should be able to add pockets to the shorts.
Swingman only for me. No pockets in the authentics is a deal breaker for me when wearing them out.

I like the swing man shorts better bc I love mesh and how it looks. There’s only a couple shorts I like in authentic
got the authentic christmas day miami heat shorts. love them so much but the no pockets hurts so much when i’m tryna wear em out in public
