Thanks for the very thorough comparison and review video. I am looking to buy my first M&N jersey and it looks like I'll get the authentic. I don't need to have many jerseys but quality and durability is very important to me.
Thank you so much for the video, I just received my first Mitchell and Ness Jersey it's the 98-99 NBA Finals Authentic Tim Duncan Jersey in black I'm so stoked about it, its definitely premium. I'm gonna add the same one but #50 The Admiral David Robinson pretty soon
You’re right, it’s difficult to go from an authentic to a swingman. After purchasing my first authentic, I sold all of my swingman jerseys and upgraded across the board. By the way, I am in the market for a Mitchell & Ness 1963 LA Dodgers, Sandy Koufax Road gray jersey. If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.
Yea man its really hard to go authentic to swingman. dude i'm contemplating doing something similar, not sure yet haha if i run across one i'll hit you up. what size?
they could have kept stitching for swingman and differentiated from Nike but instead they just copied Nike and "cheaped out" i guess they save more that way.
i was shopping for a Home Magic Johnson Authentic jersey 1984-85 and i believe they won the championship that year but the jersey doesnt have an nba finals patch while i see jerseys like David Robinson and Shaq having them
Question: I know M&N started heat pressing their swingman line around late 2019. I bought a few and the size is a little smaller compared to the stitched swingman jerseys that I have (I'm a size M as well) Do you know if the newer authentics are still the same size compared to the older authentics? Thanks man, and great content on this video!
Thanks man. In my opinion, I think it hasn't changed when it comes to newer authentics. Feel like its still the same or at least similar. (others may beg to differ though). I know the swingmans changed when they were stitched vs heatpress, theres a slight difference, but I guess its trying it out at the end of the day. Everybody has different preferences, sizes, and other factors when it comes to sizing.
Hmmm I’ve just bought and a swingman Chicago bulls from Mitchell and ness and I gotta say the heat press for the letters and numbers I think looks and feels very cheap. I’ll never buy a swing man jersey ever again
@@mrblonde7462 Wazzup my dude. Great comment on your part. I came here wondering exactly what you had mentioned. I am here because I bought a Penny Hardaway Magic jersey blue pinstriped Swingman and it has stitching on the inside and outside of the jersey stitching on the numbers and letters. I bought that in early 2019. Then just a couple months ago, I bought a Jerry West Lakers purple swingman and every number and letter is heat pressed, minus the Mitchell and ness logo at the bottom left of the jersey which you can see in the inside has a little line of stitching on the inside. Quality has gone down down down.

Another great video. The comparisons you make are very helpful. I got another question. I hope it's ok. So, I'm size medium in the M&N swingman. Should I get the same size for the authentics? I heard the authentics are longer than SWs. I if get size 36(s) authentic, would it be very tight considering the Medium swingman fits perfectly fine for me? Thank you very much... Keep making great videos.
@@JerseyConnect7 I know McGregor Wilson and Champion was the jersey makers back then in the 70's and 80's. Champion was the last jersey maker for NBA screen-printed jerseys in 91-92. The swingman jersey was a little flimsier (thinner) than the authentic. Even though every single one of them were screen-printed.
You getting one of the Mens Olympic team jerseys? Also, I think the quality of the Swingman can vary depending on the edition/jersey. Some of the special edition Michell and Ness Swingmans will have much better lettering or the lettering will be both pressed and stitched.
yea I'm grabbing a couple Team USA jerseys. True that, like you said special swingman jerseys will have different features. but most regular ones will be pretty standard makes
So I bought my first jersey recently and it’s a swingman, how long do they usually last? My normal size is xl but I got in 2xl, i just don’t how tight it’ll be
I've had some Nike swingman jerseys and been working well. A couple I wear periodically and wash. As long as you take care of them in the wash (don't dry, it'll help preserve the jersey longer) it'll be fine. On the sizing part its just gonna depend on your body type. Try it out and if it doesn't work, just return it. At least you'll get a better sense of what size to get. What brand swingman?
i got 2 Swingman an a LeBron Shirt from Nike. The Material of the Nike Shirt is thinner, got no perforation and got a straight cut. The Swingman are a little bit like a funnel. But i like the quality of the swingman much more, because its heavy an more autenthic i think. But the M and N are very hard to get here in Germany/Europe in size langer than xl
Few questions: When exactly did M&N stop stitching the NBA Swingman jersey? I know Nike doesn't stich theirs now, but i believe in the past Adidas used to stitch theirs? (or am i completely wrong on that as well and have just been fooled this whole time?) One other thing, what about M&N's Throwback NFL Replica jerseys; (price-point normally $149) Are those not actually stitched either? Thanks man. New sub. Great content.
M&N stopped stitching their swingman in 2019 or 2020. Adidas did used to stitch their swingmans as well but in the mid 2010's they went with the Rev 30 Swingman jerseys which was starting to use the heat-press model for swingmans. So with the NFL Throwback replica's I'm not 100% sure, usually on the ads they have it'll state if its screen print/heat pressed/ or stitched. It's constantly changing depending on the jersey.
