Hey, I know this video ends before the end of the song. I uploaded this recording before FOW posted on their own page. Please go check it out on their page, their all close friends of mine and would love the support. Also feel free to go check out Jody’s new record Waterways on most streaming platforms ❤️
Never heard this before - my late husband was born/raised in Hackensack and his family and Christoper Walken's family were good friends. Thanks for the memory.
2003. I was 16. Fountains of Wayne released "Welcome Interstate Managers." That along with "Ocean Avenue" (Yellowcard, 2003) and "More Than You Think You Are" (Matchbox Twenty, 2002) formed the soundtrack to my life. Those albums got me through some really rough times in my life. My da died when I was 11 and I don't know why but this song always made be think of him. If you ever get back to Hackensack, we'll be here for you. Rest in peace Adam.
One thing I recognized was the time they were playing this. If you check the clock behind Chris, it is 08:15. Hackensack's lyrics begins like this; I used to know you when we were young You were in all my dreams We sat together in Period One Fridays at 8:15 I don't know if this is a coincidence but it is really sweet.
Welcome Interstate Managers is one of those albums that I never tire of. It has a deep meaning for me. I was gutted when I found out that Adam died in the early days of the pandemic. I have been listening to WIM a lot lately for some reason. The brilliance of those songs cannot be overstated. Every song on there is nearly perfect.
It was always a pity that the only song people know is "Stacy's Mom" they're so great! Richie and Ruben, Mexican Wine, The Summer Place, A Road Song, etc. Are masterpieces. I wish I had gotten into them when I was younger so I could've seen them live and gotten autographs
I ran into the entire band in a coffee shop in Annapolis, MD back in maybe 2003-2004. I even still remember what they were wearing. And I remember how tall everyone was. They all signed my Welcome Interstate Managers CD 😊
In the credits at the end of the original broadcast, FOW is listed in the thanks to the talent, and Shaton Van Etten is listed in the thanks to the guest musicians. My guess would be she was filling in, it had only been 3 weeks since his death when this TV special was originally broadcast.

Aww, that was sweet and sad. Saw ‘FOW’ 9 times live, I adored them.
Thank you. Brought tears to the eyes of this former Montclair resident. Tragic.
RIP Adam. Beautiful song
what kind of person could dislike this ????
This song was played in movie “Just friends”. The movie and the song matched very well.
A great memorial song for Adam.
