He was angry when he wasn't allowed to take the free kick and he was angry because Schar was closing down his game. Going back to the Liverpool game, Howe took Tonali off at 1-0 when he was bossing the midfield. We lose 1-2. Against Villa Howe leaves Tonali on for the entire game, again he was bossing the midfield. We win 3-0. Mystery solved.
Excellent tactical planning from Eddie. It would have been so easy to go balls out attack from the back like we normally do at home. The inclusion of Trippier east a master stroke, it slowed down the realisation of our intentions, gaining yardage and then hitting them when there seemed no obvious threat. Eddie has many tactical changes in his pocket now. Sandro was always going to be our number six, Bruno has been released as Trequartista and causing absolute mayhem with Joelinton as the clean up enforcer on second ball opportunities. As for worrying about other teams trying to buy our best players? Come on for God sake, how many more windows have to pass by before you idiots actually get that we don't have to sell? Hi Chris. He only twisted his ankle after standing on Schar with his left leg first. That caused his right foot to come over, But then to extend the leg like he did gave them the reason to send him off. If Schar's head had of been back the foot would have hit that also. So dangerous.
Duran is lucky not to catch Fabian in the head with his studs. If you watch it back in slow motion, it's pure luck that Schar moves his head and neck out the way.
As we approach the second half of the season, I would put money on Lewis Hall being Young Player of the Year. As for Alan Shearer, he probably can't understand why Neil Lennon didn't get sent off for head-butting his foot back in the 90's.
We did have a go in that home loss to 10 man Liverpool. Almiron hit the post and there were a few other good chances. The intensity was pretty good but Liverpool were sitting back and it was difficult for us to kill the game. They will always be dangerous with 10 men. Tonali was controlling that game too. Howe took him and Gordon off thinking the game was safe.

I think Tonali AND Murphy have been the difference since the zero shot on target Palace game. Tonali's composure has settled the defensive midfield whereas Murph's pressing & direct play has set the pace for the attack & gave more room/freedom to Bruno, Gordon, Isak etc.
I agree, JM does not seem to get the credit he deserves for his contribution. I do think we can improve the RW position but when Murphy is playing as he has been since the Liverpool game, I would rather he is playing for us than against us.
