The Duran red card is 100% a red. He knew exactly what he was doing, was looking directly at Schar and never took his eyes off him. Put studs in and then dragged them up his back. If he'd been off balance, he would have fallen sideways and not directly down. Plus he's a hothead and had already lost it when he wasn't allowed to take the earlier freekick. If Joelinton had done it to a villa player you'd all be screaming red.

You use the phrase that villa are a 'brilliant team' a lot Dan. This is going to sound like arguing over semantics, but we arent brilliant. We can be a very good side in occasional flashes or spells, but brilliant sides dont defend like we do, or are so regularly passive.

Sick of hearing about the red card now im not entertaining the thought it was an accident lol how ever i understand the frustration and had it been isak i would have thought disappointing and unprofessional, Bruno got away with a lash out against Arsenal and there is no need for it, no use defending the guy he has to learn how to be a professional. Emery will defend his player in public but he will definitely have a word. Reminds me of David Beckenham for England tripping a play while on the floor. Wasn't dangerous and was clearly frustration but screws any chance of getting something. Like you guys said, all the reasons to turn up and compete including the distance your fans travel(and those stairs.) Your point Unprofessional is right. Im sorry but thats bs. At first watch yesterday i completely agreed with your take, that it was far to harsh. But watch it again, and you notice that Duran first twists his left foot by activly stepping onto Schaar and then basicly stabs up his backside after first connecting to his ass with his right foot. If he wanted to cause no harm he would have angled that kick anywhere else than he did. He lost his head there for a sec and tried to get away with it.
Happens to the best and hopefully he trains on not seeing red again. Was it harsh hell yeah, but damnit you should not be allowed to stay on after loosing your shit, even if its just for a second.

Believe me Dubravka never reacts like that if it’s innocuous yes he will check on his defenders if they are injured and normally a tap on the head and back to his goal but that reaction he thought he had seen more intent. I think it’s one of those where if it’s against you you’d be annoyed but if it happens to you then you’d be screaming for a red card. I honestly thought in the ground and watching it back I thought he knew what he was doing and there was enough time to plant his foot anywhere other than schars back.
