We only got battered when you had the man advantage even your own manager said it was quite an even game before the sending off. This is the first villa game that Emery has ever blamed the ref he is normally incredibly respectful to them. You have a very strange definition of stamp because it was an accidentally scrape as he tried to stabilise himself he was actually trying to stay up and not dive like many players would have.
@ and it was still fairly even you do know scoring once doesn't mean you're battering someone. If you want to disagree with me you'll also have to disagree with your own manager.
4:17 this is for his players not for fans or the Pundits. He wants them to be angry at the loss being pushed on them. Not that they lost to a better team. 4:17
If you have ever played football at a serious level you will know that step onto the player is totally avoidable. It was not done with malice, but it was intentional. He knew what he was doing. even if only to send a message. Fouls have very much been in contention the last two seasons and anything seen as dangerous has been punished. Whether this intance was right or wrong is disputable.
Well, look at that. I disagree. This decision should be opposed. It was not clear at all. He didn't stomp. This made it unintentional. Yessss appeal Unai. Steups.
Since this, ive heard the audio from match and the assistant ref says accidentally. Anybody can see his foot buckled from under him and he is desperately trying not to make contact with the opponent. He is physically trying to lift his foot so minimal contact occurs. Assistant ref called it right, ref and var called it wrong. Dermot agrees again and howard webb will back his ref's decision 99% of the time, whatever they do ! PGMOL is not fit for purpose !
Duran's left ankle twists as his foot plants on the ground and its only natural that he tries to balance himself with his right leg but he has no real control. Its an unfortunate incident but totally accidental and not violent conduct. Villa need to appeal this decision.
He got told by 2 linesmen it’s not a red but he gives the red referees are a massive shambles.he accidentally made contact so he moved his leg so it wasn’t worse then he’s getting accused of moving the leg to hurt the player getoutofeya
I don't know why they even bother getting referees on this, they will always support on field referees/VAR no matter how bad the decision is. For me it's clumsy and a yellow card, never a red.
How significant is intent? In the case of a red card worthy tackle, the tackle may appear to have no intent but if the end-result is injurious enough, it is still red. If this were a court case there would really be no way to determine the player's intent, so you can only judge by the outcome of his actions. We can't focus on intent here because it is a subjective decision at best. We can see the outcome - then we should decide if the force in the part where he treads on Schar's back is sufficient for a red.
Brilliant! 😂 👏The amount of crap referees have had to endure day in day out dealing with Prima Donna footballers, arrogant managers and sanctimonious football fans. Loads of you are happy to dish it out every week. Absolute belter! Banter this and banter that until it doesn’t suit your narrative. Respect is a two way street.

In the slow motion you can see that Schär first hits Duran's left thigh with his right foot as he falls. And? This was an unfortunate situation for both of them and neither wanted to hurt the other. But football is a contact sport. The only one who got hurt is Taylor. He ruined the game and deserved a red card🟥!
It’s been appealed & upgraded to a 3 match ban instead of just 1, at least Duran gets rest now so he can kick ass in the final 2 CL games that Sky don’t want Villa to win/qualify from. To simplify it, if Saka or Son were in the same situation as Duran, they wouldn’t of even got a yellow

Am a Newcastle fan it is harsh but it doesn't change the outcome of the game for me
Duran's left ankle twists as his foot plants on the ground and its only natural that he tries to balance himself with his right leg but he has no real control.
Anthony Taylor loves giving out cards, so with this being the holiday season, hes going to be extra generous. Hopefully Santa puts Anthony Taylor on his naughty list next Christmas for being the worst referee in Premier League history.
The momentum and follow-through from Schär's sliding tackle propelled Durán to the ground, culminating in an innocuous tangling of legs between the two with Duran's misplaced landing foot saddling into Schär even potentially injuring Durán himself in the process. Never a . *V🖥R* replays in slo-mo alwys seem to amplify contact by removing nuance and context of plays in real-time
In the slow motion you can see that Schär first hits Duran's left thigh with his right foot as he falls. And? This was an unfortunate situation for both of them and neither wanted to hurt the other. But football is a contact sport. The only one who got hurt is Taylor. He ruined the game and deserved a red card🟥!
I suppose Duran didn't kick a water bottle. His foot was just thirsty😂
Tell me you've never played football before without telling me you've never played football before... RED card my back foot! SMH 🤦🏽♂
What a shocking surprise dermot agreed with his mates it wasn't dangerous play when schar kicked him in the balls
Useless decision honestly.
It doesn’t matter. He did get a red, and Villa lost. End of.
This is never a RED CARD!! what a joke
I`d hate these bs officials to be on a jury even if your innocent you would be screwed
How does he know Duran could have avoided it? Has he ever played pro football to know? The refs are a disgrace
Officials cheating Liverpool again.Look at the offside line on the Gakpo goal.Salah was ahead of Nunez when he passed the ball .The Leicester defender doesn't even come into it.
A Newcastle United fan I'm 50-50 in real time never saw why from my seat in the leazers stand watch it later I'm not sure if it's a red. If it went against us id be upset
Boxing day this year it seemed everyone got a red card for Christmas
Someone tell me the point in this segment.
100% a red card ,cowards tackle trying to injure a player whilst on the ground, with the appeal and kicking the bottle it should be a 5 game ban
Has anyone running ever been in control when falling over
It's barely a yellow, a red is ridiculous. He's clearly off balance, there's no intent there. Just refs protecting their mates once again.
He deserved the red card for sure he lose the dual and his attitude and attention he react with aggressive to Schar
Don’t support either teams but it’s never a red. All he does is stick up for referees bad decisions. What is the point in this segment?
His left ankle turned, put him off balance,he should have gone too the monitor that's what it's for
It was a red card even your manager stated duran had time to pull out of the situation and he didnt he did it on purpose 😊
His English is getting worse was he in allo allo ???? 😅
It was a red. Man tried to hurt him. Simple as that.
Sky should have tried a bit harder to get that red overturned. Bad show. The Premier League have now gone and chucked out Villa’s appeal.
So when Jhon gets studs to his nads that's fine? And when he is brought down by the new castle player that is OK? He lost his balance AND was kicked in the nads
It's funny that those who agree with the ref never mention that part of the incident, to be honest I don't watch much football these days as it's for tarts.
I think its a soft red . This programme should be called defend the ref watch ⌚️
Taylor is a master stroke Ref , he sends players Coaches out with aRed, give unwanted reports to FA euro 😅😮
Ref never made decision - surrounded by Newcastle players influenced him
Intent doesn't matter. He was reckless and it was dangerous.
So how do you explain Schars foot leaving the ground & contacting Durans body while Schar was tumbling on the ground after the tackle ?
As a villa supporter I thought the red was a harsh call but Newcastle have hammered us again, head since Feb 2014 we've won 3 drew 6 and lost 8 against them, just as tough as man utd to beat for us, will miss Duran bigtime, hopefully AI can help with VAR in the future and do away with refs 😅 just have a guy on the pitch that blows the whistle to VAR calls 😅 brighton next UTV
