I love how they are rounding off the show. They are making George and Mary happy and I’m all for it, they are making missy and Mary have a better relationship and again I’m l for it.
And yet, that makes what's coming all the more devastating. We know George dies soon. So it's like just when he and Mary are getting their spark back and enjoying their marriage again, he passes away
What I don't understand is Mary's bitterness and bad attitude towards George in TBBT. Perhaps she was upset that he left her alone in the prime of their lives.
The only thing that is not explainable that Goerge & Mary never explained Sheldon that his father didn't cheat ..... I mean Goerge saw that his son saw them... Bt he didn't explain it & it had a permanent effect (Thankfully it didn't get much serious effect on his character & I'm happy YS decided not to turn George Snr bad.)

That "cheating scene" was both incredibly anti-clamatic yet, absolute genius of uncomplicating what could have been messy scenario, yet fully satisfy and resolve the long-time lingering question. Many will likely detest it, maybe almost to the tune of the HIMYM finale. By from me, bravo 👏👏👏
Young Sheldon REALLY needs a scene at the very end that’s like 10+ years in the future. Sheldon and Amy have a kid and are visiting Meemaw Mary. Sheldon breaks down and confesses about his dad. Saying the burden was really beginning to get to him, now that he has a kid and a wife. After figuring out the details and learning about the blonde German lady Helga, Mary laughs her ass off and tells Sheldon the truth. Restoring George’s image in Sheldon’s mind to admirable man we all know and love.
Sheldon has always been an unreliable narrator; he has a perfect memory for what he thinks he saw or experienced but he is so self-obsessed, emotionally stunted, and socially clueless that he misinterprets and misunderstands so many of his experiences.
Besides knowing that George didn’t actually cheat on Mary and it was just her role playing although it weird……I’m just glad he didn’t cheat and it was just Sheldon who even though has a brilliant mind couldn’t tell that his mom was cosplaying!🤣 But what I liked about this episode was Mary and Missy having a simple mother/daughter moment with just Mary helping Missy go through a break up.
I had a feeling that would be the case. Usually couples who are fighting, if they separate for a while and give each other some space, can find it easier to work things out when they get back together. This separation was exactly what George had Mary needed. A breather away from each other and time to reflect on everything.

I don’t really know how to feel about the ‘George big affair reveal’? Part of me is relieved that George did not technically cheat on his wife as George is portrayed better in Young Sheldon as he was in TBBT. Part of me think it’s hilarious that Sheldon got the role play completely wrong and he through his dad was having an affair. Part of me think it’s all anti-climatic. Part of me think the Brenda ‘affair’ build up was a waste of time. Part of feels sad for George that Sheldon though he cheated on his wife, when he was having fun with his wife and their is that stain on Sheldon’s memory of his father. And the final part of me thinks I’m too emotional invested in a tv show and I need to get a life. 😂
I don't think this actually proves that, though. Has it actually been confirmed elsewhere that George never actually did things he shouldn't with Brenda? If so, they _really_ overdid the hints (like Brenda's awkward guilty looks when Mary thanks her for being there after George's heart attack). Sometimes humans make terrible mistakes -- but then they learn to become better people, and never repeat them.
The thing is, TBBT and Young Sheldon pretty much take place in two different universes in my opinion. As described in TBBT, Sheldon had it rough growing up. He describes multiple times being beaten up by his brother and being very openly disliked by his father who roughed him up as well. In TBBT George Sr was a fat, mean idiot who openly ridiculed himself. None of that happens in YS, in which George is a good man. In TBBT, Mary also never hesitated being tough with Sheldon; she was open about thinking he was weird and telling him openly she wished he was different. In YS Mary has plenty of flaws but she never talks to Sheldon the way TBBT Mary does; on the contrary, she is indulgent and overprotective to a fault because he is her special little boy. In TBBT Meemaw is also the one who supported Sheldon through thick and thin when no one else did, and in YS she doesn't hesitate telling him off. The timeline also isn't the same, for example George cheating was supposed to be during Spring Break. All in all, Sheldon's childhood in TBBT was extremely sad; whenever he talks about it you know how lonely, unappreciated and bullied he was. In YS Sheldon IS loved and even pampered. That's because Sheldon's TBBT childhood story would not make for a good TV show. It's a sad story. But YS was always meant to be comedic, light-hearted and a family show, which is why a lot of events are retconned. This scene between Mary and George illustrates it pretty well: in TBBT it's traumatic, in YS it's funny. The two are irreconcilable enough that we as viewers have to choose between several options: - Adult Sheldonwas biased and prejudiced enough that he's unable to see what really happened. - Or he retcons the story he tells to his son Leonard, and makes it softer, perhaps at Amy's request. - It is an alternate universe. TBBT Sheldon had a childhood he said he did; YS is an alternate version in which things were less sad for everyone.
But it's also in Sheldon way of thinking, His reality is always right and anything else is wrong. It makes sense that a guy with his Syndrome can alter his reality based on what he is thinking.
I know this scene is supposed to be a relief and hilarious( and it is), but I can't help but see a layer of tragedy to this point in sheldons life. Sheldon will spend the next 20 or so years believing that his father betrayed his mother, coloring his view of his father in the negative and tainting the positive memories of him and his upbringing. If sheldon ever finds out the truth, he will realize that he spent the precious time between the incident and George's death resenting or even hating him. I wouldn't be surprised if the finale reveals that the whole show was sheldon finally looking back at his memories of his childhood from the correct perspective after finding out that the key event that tainted it-his fathers affair-was just a misunderstanding.
Anyone else almost die laughing after watching this and relating to the TBBT Sheldon catching his dad story? Like we were expecting an infidelity, and this is what really happened? Hahahaha!!! 😂
I actually found this to be quite brilliant, in the sense that George cheating was just a big misunderstanding on Sheldon's part. I also found it hilarious because I thought Mary was channeling her inner Inga from "Young Frankenstein"!
Part of me thinks because this is the last season, and the producers have already confirmed that the OTHER and bigger life-changing moment of Sheldon's life would be shown, they didn't want to jam two shocking moments. I'm still not sure what I think about this.
My guess they will end it with Sheldon voiceover telling us what happens to all of them in the future or maybe him going back to Germany after his dad dies

Wow, I was not expecting that. One of the best running gags in The Big bang theory that fans were very unsure they wanted to see, is a complete misunderstanding.
It's kinda like House of the Dragon. So many assumptions were made by misunderstandings. And considering it's Sheldon, it makes perfect sense that he'd simply assume what he saw, convince himself that George cheated, and never mention it to Mary.
Explains the 3 knocking ritual The cheating memory. The conversation with older Mary and Sheldon in front of Penny are two different memories that sound alike to each other but are different acts. Mary remembered the almost affair. Sheldon remembers the visual misunderstanding. Neither of them know about the other's event (as Mary and George were too "busy") They sound like they're talking about the same thing decades later.
I assume writers had to get together and tried to figure how to not make look George look bad but also make the statement "sheldon saw him cheating" plausible.
For me, this contradict Sheldon's behavior. Well, he like or accidently told other secret like Missy's (He's bad at keeping other's secret), but when he saw this incident, he never mention or tell this to his mother or meemaw.
This is a retcon, pure and simple. Sheldon said he cheated with a barista who bought him things to keep him happy. Plus, Georgie and Missy are doing things for the first time that Mary does every day. They are acting like they're like they're moving mountains. One day is nothing.

I like how they retconned it to make George not cheat. It makes sense because the Young Sheldon show makes him out to be a loyal man and a good husband and father. I'm kind of sad that Sheldon spent his entire life thinking his dad cheated on his mother, he never found out the truth. If TBBT was still airing, we could have adult Sheldon finally decide to tell his mother about the 'cheating' and his mother could clear things up for him and finally tell him the truth.
@@teencritik5512 It's definitely odd. At the end of the episode adult Sheldon narrates that he never spoke of it again, but you're right, it doesn't make sense. And not just because he thought his mother was a victim, also because Sheldon cannot keep a secret. He's said many times that things like that drive him crazy. Obviously the writers decided they didn't want George to be a cheater after all, but that retcon didn't really make sense, at least Sheldons reaction didn't make sense.
While they were able to write off the cheating from George. Sadly there is one thing they wont be able to write off. Unless George has been lying about his death and hiding from Sheldon for 20 years.

For me, this contradict Sheldon's behavior.
Well, he like or accidently told other secret like Missy's (He's bad at keeping other's secret), but when he saw this incident, he never mention or tell this to his mother or meemaw.
This is a retcon, pure and simple. Sheldon said he cheated with a barista who bought him things to keep him happy. Plus, Georgie and Missy are doing things for the first time that Mary does every day. They are acting like they're like they're moving mountains. One day is nothing.

I like how they retconned it to make George not cheat. It makes sense because the Young Sheldon show makes him out to be a loyal man and a good husband and father.
I'm kind of sad that Sheldon spent his entire life thinking his dad cheated on his mother, he never found out the truth.
If TBBT was still airing, we could have adult Sheldon finally decide to tell his mother about the 'cheating' and his mother could clear things up for him and finally tell him the truth.

@@teencritik5512 It's definitely odd. At the end of the episode adult Sheldon narrates that he never spoke of it again, but you're right, it doesn't make sense. And not just because he thought his mother was a victim, also because Sheldon cannot keep a secret. He's said many times that things like that drive him crazy.
Obviously the writers decided they didn't want George to be a cheater after all, but that retcon didn't really make sense, at least Sheldons reaction didn't make sense.
While they were able to write off the cheating from George. Sadly there is one thing they wont be able to write off. Unless George has been lying about his death and hiding from Sheldon for 20 years.
