Yield is not a stop sign. It's only mandatory to stop if the lane isn't clear or if someone else has the right of way

I passed my driver's test yesterday, it was not that bad, the only part that was somewhat hard was the parallel parking, but I only got deducted points off of that and still passed. I made a 86 which is better than below a 70. Also for me, the instructor did not make me point out the controls in the vehicle, like the defrosters, windshield wipers, etc. The examiner only made me do my breaks, left and right turn signal, and horn, which was not bad at all. One more special thing I did that the examiner told me to do is pull beside the curb and act like it's a down hill, I, of course, did it right by turning the wheels towards the curb and putting it in park, the only thing I forgot to do is engage the emergency breaks and got deducted off of that. The last simple mistake I did is not look over my shoulder when getting on the right lane, because I was looking at my mirror mainly because the car was not in my blind spot and the car was not passing me, so I made sure the car was not passing me and got over the right lane because that car I guess was letting me over. I'm grateful that I have passed my test the first try and do not have to do it again hopefully. I wish you luck for all of you that are getting prepared for the test and hope you pass the first try or if not the second try, just don't give up.

I agree that he didn’t need to stop at the yield sign. If he did, a stop sign would’ve been there. Sometimes the examiner needs to review the driving manual themselves.
However, he does need to demonstrably yield, which by not slowing, he doesn’t do here.
I passed my test last Friday my first try after lots of practice and watching these videos. As one of the clumsiest human beings to ever live I can honestly tell you it was just a 10 minute ride around the neighborhood and back. Dont be nervous PRACTICE and you'll be ready, trust me.
7:05 I think may be they were looking for him to slow down a little more than he was. Since we can't see the driver, did he actually look for traffic? Or did he just take a quick glance while doing it at 15mph? Also, unless the camera is doing this, it appeared he was further left of the stop sign and nearly in the center of the road making any possible turning traffic having to go further over to get around him. This was when he was leaving the DMV.

I just took my first test. I wish I had a dash cam bc I don’t think I should have failed. The guy even said I didn’t break any laws or do anything dangerous. My critical error was going too slow in a school zone. I was going about 20 and there was no reason for me to go any faster. The other criticisms the guy had were not slowing down for a rough patch of road (I was going 10 mph in a Jeep with tricked out suspension, the car barely jiggled) and I was too far in the middle of the road going down a tight residential street with kids and dogs running around (I figured better safe than sorry, another car couldn’t get past even if I was all the way over). And I didn’t get up to speed fast enough on a main road ( speed limit was 45, I got up to 30 before decelerating for a red light, again there was no reason to go faster). I think the guy didn’t like me.
My test is in 3 days: 2/7/22, I feel prepared due to your videos. Wish me luck!

This is sort of what happened to me on my 2nd attempt that I forgot to stop and then the my examiner said STOP so loud that it taunt me after that.

7:10 she must’ve looked at his rear-cam by mistake and mistaken it for the Applicant/Driver’s Direction.
It was a Traffic light gleaming red but it wasn’t for the Driver to obey; it was mirrored frame for him but it was meant for other drivers in the opposite direction to obey.

Don’t over think and get sick about it. I had to wait 2 months once I scheduled my test, and it was horrible for me. I was so stressed. But the test came and went faster then I even knew and I passed ;) good luck to you!

In Pennsylvania a right turn where the light is red, you have to make a complete stop and proceed only if safe. If it is a red light you have to treat it like a stop 🛑 sign. We can make a right turn on a red light unless it says ‘No turn on red’ next to the red light. If the light is red on a right turn you have to treat it like a STOP sign.
If its green on yield and there are pedestrians should I stop for them or I can go when they are not moving
@@nazmashaik390 Pedestrians always have the right of way in the crosswalk even if you have a green light. That’s the law in Pennsylvania, I don’t know in another state.

stay calm, look at the examiner as it’s someone you are close to! i was nervous at first but its really not as bad as alot of people put it out to be. if you know what you are doing my friend you got this! stay calm and breath.

6:33 I'm confuse here. There is a "left turn yield on green" sign but the truck on the other side of the road has a yield sign? so who should yield to who?
This maneuver has several steps:
1. You have a green light. It's not a protected left turn, so you need to yield to oncoming traffic.
2. You see that the truck isn't going straight. So, for you, it means that you have no oncoming traffic and can begin to turn left.
3. Now you are at an intersection, but the truck isn't, so the truck must allow you to leave the intersection (and there is a yield sign for that truck), but for safety reasons, it would be great to double-check that the truck driver sees you and intends to yield.
4. If that truck is slowing down, he plans to yield to you, and you can proceed through the intersection.

depends on your state, every state has different rules. in minnesota, parallel parking is required on your drivers test.

Not sure how the law works there but i assume that since the light was still red the driver should of still come to a stop then proceed but i am not 100% sure.
You always have to yield on a right turn, unless you have a green light.
If the pedesrians standing at signal can I go on green without stoppping for them

I heard most of the time it's 20 mins or maybe even less bc of covid. But its a quick 20 mins tbh once you start the test

Yield sign with a red light: You should start looking for traffic as you enter the yield lane, and only stop if 1) there's a pedestrian, or 2) oncoming traffic is close. Obviously proceed when clear.
Yield sign with green light: You have the right of way, so no stopping unless there's a pedestrian crossing on your path.
Yield sign with no traffic light: You treat it as an Yield with red light.
You’re making it out to be more complicated than it needs to be. The traffic light color is irrelevant, just yield. Also, if you’re in a dedicated lane that requires you to yield, then at no point would you have right of way.
Nah on a green light you still have to yield to left turning traffic from the oncoming direction (assuming green ball and not green straight arrow). Like the other guy said, don't overthink it and just yield.
@@chunkypotato LOL. If you have a green light it means you have the right of way, plus cross traffic has a red light. You can stop and watch for crazies running red lights, of course. You and the other guy obviously never encountered these intersections.
@@geosophik9369 My guy i literally failed my road test for failing to yield to left turning vehicles while i was turning right on a slip lane lol. Im more convinced that you are the one who's never encountered this kind of intersection, not the other guy.
Yield means yield. Whether you have the red light and others are coming or you have the green light and some jackass runs the red and is coming towards you, you have to stop either way.
It's less work to pretend the light doesn't exist and just look to see if anyone's coming lol because even if others disobey the light, YOU have to yield, not them, because YOU have the yield sign, not them.
@@chunkypotato LOL. I don't know in what city or country you live, but it's for sure they have a terrible traffic design. If you have a green it means you have the right of way going straight or turning right, and those other vehicles turning left in front of you should wait and only proceed when clear, meaning after you have turned right. Of course, you should watch for those low distracted drivers who don't respect the rules.

It depends where you from dude or which exam you going for. For example here in New York all exam locations either you use your family car that you learned from or a rental from which driving school you went too.

my test is may 27
I failed my first time- the examiner wanted me to kinda do like a u-turn on a roundabout. She said I didn’t put my signal… what signal do I put when the traffic is going counter clockwise and… well here’s what happened.
I slowed down and I stopped because there was a car on my right and left that came when I did. The car on the right of me had the right of way of course. Meanwhile looking for pedestrians or bicyclists- no one was moving and I didn’t know what signal to put.
What should I have done?

The main difference is: there is no median/divider at the first signal red light. The examiner would be wrong if there was a median. Many situations with and without median will behave differently. For example, if a school bus stops with a stop arm, all the cars from both directions must stop where there is no median. If there is a median, only the direction of the bus, the cars must stop. (in Canada).
He rushed on yield sign. You have to stop for second to check if there is any traffic. Examiner has not fault on this point. Your review supporting to rush on yield sign is that you are foolish reviewer.
No, that would make it a stop sign. Yield means proceed if clear.
