so in theory u could setup a mechanism that automatically switch wireless redstone below a fence net that triggers sticky piston to rise and retract fence poles depending on how much rf/if u have, for instance, your capacitor bank is now full, okay swtich poles up there so the first bank gets disabled and the second gets connected
there are still more things you haven't covered: -the rail-gun and charging station -the turntable -the bottling machine -the fluid router -the fluid outlet
This seems too good too be true, it should have a big disadvantage or a big risk for using it while it still has power inside of it. Maybe it can explode and melt stuff around it because of intense heat and would send out a big EMP signal, frying electrical components in a certain radius.
Simon Engelholm The disadvantage is the massive resource investment and engineering pita to build it just to get nothing at all until you get lucky and a natural thunderstorm occurs. On multiplayer it would be even harder to use, since a lot of people hate the rain in Minecraft and sleep or use mods to get rid of it.
Shannae Darkehart I was more like brain storming some ideas, it is called "Immersive Engineering" after all. And there's a reason we don't try to harness power from lightning, it's too overwhelming for our current industrial machines to get profit from it. We probably can do it, but yeah, too expensive, we can simply burn oil instead of building expensive wires and safety mechanisms. We are not even close to building batteries from these mods presents :P. Lightning in real life usually hits the tallest object from where it's going to strike, but Minecraft lightning simply hits a random object as we all know, IE-dev probably did some tweaking of it for it to hit it in the first place. The huge resource investment to make it I do like, but we all reach a point in a SP or MP where we can do absolutely anything. So I would like some challenges for late game, power for example is something we always has to take care of. So if we have a huge power need, and we are eventually going relay on the high tier stuff. So I would like more challenges for end game as it progressively gets easier with resources, so with reacquiring challenges such as keeping your base from melting into a volcano would be a nice touch. These are my own opinions and thought. It's the Dev's decision what he wants in his mod or not.
You're still trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist, using methods that turn a barely functional novelty into a trap nobody should ever build ever.

What about artifical lightning, not exactly blood magic style, but for example an item that causes lightning when interacting with things etc? Any lightning will do?
It doesn't work in 1.7.10 as they fixed that when Rorax started showing she could do that. Since then, it's storm based and not strike based. Besides, this version I am showing is 1.10.2 and a lot has changed since 1.7.10.
The Lightning Rod only functions in a natural lightning storm. If Psi can induce a lightning storm or change the weather, then it'll work. Otherwise not.
It doesn't work. The generator just summons energy at random intervals, making it look like it was struck by lightning. Anything that summons lightning doesn't charge the generator. That is kinda dumb, but you yourself have just named one of the exploits with the generator if that would work.
Eh, nothing the pack in the pack i'm playing needs RF (And it's infinite equivalents) other than the infusion stabilizer from thaumcraft (And thaumcraft provides it's own RF power for that.)

im not sure, but imsure you could find out if he makes a bit-by-bit about it
+Kai Beasley Ah! I knew I missed something. Thanks.
Which generates more lightning hits? The size of the net or the hight of the rod?
Thats a lot of steel... xD
combine this with gregtech and u will have a very long time before u can use a lightning rod
COOOOOL i wonder if i can use a wand that summons lightning with this .... conversion from mana to power is over 9000
3 seconds after above comment you answer question...
gee hats down you are thorough
I know this is an old video but, what if you get smited
Unfortunately, my base is in a savanna plateau... next to a desert. So I don't get rain at all, ever. :(
A river boime could help, and lightning can still strike the dry land where no rain falls!

It's only OP if you have another mod that can call a thunderstorm. Why would anyone use a generator that actively harms's their infrastructure?

Lightning rods are officially added in Minecraft 1.17
"shocking" isnt it??

+MrDeothor No. You need a storm.
That is dissapointing~~
Mooshroom island has a lot of storms right?
I’ve done everything right but when lightning strikes there still no power if anyone is seeing this and knows why help
Gonna build this high above to reduce steel cost.
BTW will this do something bad to my lightning rod?
will this work with the localised weather and storms mod?
So how many tries did it take to get that intro down?

Heheh, "current last bit" I see what you did there.

I just found out. There is actually a farting mod that works as fertilizer. I was being totally facetious but now I've seen the truth.

Oh well. Ill just stick to magic mods then :P
There is another mod that does the whole lightning thing, and it works with PSI. LightningCraft by sblectric.
