Referee Anthony Taylor was SPOT ON to not award Germany a penalty in relation to UEFA's handball guidelines... Cucurella's arm is down, vertical and not judged to be making his body unnaturally bigger. Either way the rules are so unclear 😤

@@pitched7401 was handled perfectly. No need to look at the screen and stop the game, as there was an offside and possibly even a German hb on the run up. No need to stop the game for the offside, as ultimately, spain had the ball

P.S.
That was Cucurella's second handball in the match.
@@tino0936there wasn't a handball prior to this. What about Kroos crazy tackles that was spared?
@@tino0936 It wasn't a penalty because the referee interpreted that the arm movement was to withdraw it from its initial open position, despite the fact that the point of contact was still with the arm occupying a larger space. The TV broadcast later showed a possible offside position by Füllkrug earlier. Although it's true that the TV signal didn't show the semi-automatic offside lines, and the assistant didn't raise the flag either.
What you consider a penalty is okay. But complaining about an action that the referee interprets in this way and ignoring the fact that they should have played with one less player since the first half is hypocritical on the part of people who focus so much on the penalty. I repeat, if you think it's a penalty, that's fine; in the end, it's your interpretation of the play. But the referee, for better or worse, has another interpretation. And the most important thing is that lines would have to be drawn because before the penalty, there seems to be an offside that at first glance is quite clear.
I also think apart from the handball that when fullkrug was pulled down and narrowly missed a shot in the box that that should have been a penalty, the spanish defender had a hand on his shirt and thereby pulled him down
That was true. Another thing missed
Also another interesting thing is they never showed the replay of the ”offside”

Fullkrig handballs the ball right before it goes to Musiala germany clearly handballed it first
Watch the complete play.
those saying it was not a penalty is complete nonsense and so was Taylor's decision to not give the penalty. Taylor in refusing the penalty clearly did so because he claimed by his words and body posture that Cucurella had his hands by his sides in a "natural position". But that ignores the context ie. what happened before his arm was by his sides where he blocked Musiala's shot which was going into the goal with the keeper beaten. Fact is, Cucurella had his arms out to his side, away from his body at about a 90 degree angle before the shot was taken. The shot is taken and then Cucurella moves his arm and hands downwards directly into the direction of the ball, then to try and fool the ref, Cucurella lets his arm go backwards and go limp. The fact is, it is hand to ball and a deliberate obstruction of the ball. It was 100% a penalty. Hand to ball whether up or down under the rules is a penalty if it is in the 18.
It was a (clear) penalty IMO, arm was 30-45 degrees angle of the defenders body, hard shot on goal, very surprising it was not given..
There was a previous offside, so no handball
@@valarcon9132they should have communicated that. If they don't give offside, it's a penalty.
Not a penalty, it is in the rules, hand going to the body, he couldnt avoid it, no penalty clearly
@@martrog3429 some retarded rule. Penalties have been given for shots that were in no way goal opportunities. Or when only a few hairs on the hand touched the ball, not changing its trajectory significantly. This would've gone in clearly. If the player offside is blocking the line of vision it's offside... But else the only sane rule would be penalty. No yellow or red. Just a penalty.
@@ibendiben Well, they didn't give either lol
1 - Hand looks clear to me, it should have been penalty call, then reviewed by VAR
2 - Fullkrug is in offside 5 sec before the hand
3 - Possible hand from Fullkrug in the same action
4 - Another offside of a german player in the trajectory of the ball, behind Cucurella
It would have been better to call the var and see the replay, so there would have been les complains.... although just to clarify: (My opinion)
it was reviewed by var. just because it doesn't show up on screen doesn't mean it's not reviewed by var, it monitors the entire match but since the referee has the option to agree with the var squad and not check the replay it didn't show, he was most likely talking to the var squad on his ear piece while it was all happening since the premier league var faq says that var intervenes in ALL major moments like pens, red cards, goals etc (yes i know it's not the PL but you get my point)
@@days23411why they didn’t show offside or previous fouls?

All you people complaining about how that should've been a handbal are IGNORANT to the CURRENT hand-ball rules of the game. When the player's arm is tucked closely to his body and is not moving it OUTWARDLY to block the ball, it is not a penalty. Cucurella in this instance is moving his arm INWARDLY towards his body to try and avoid making contact with the ball. At the exact moment the ball hits his arm, his arm is close to his body and is not intentionally moving in a manner to block the trajectory of the ball. Simple as that, not a penalty.
@@rafaelbolinu2205 There was a similar situation that was ruled a penalty in an earlier stage of the tournament.

All in all, the Spanish team was clearly the better team. Ball possession, passing, room division and pressing. It is a real pleasure to watch the Spanish team play. It is probably the best national team today and will go very far. However, I would not trade with the Spanish and here is why: Spain is the first country that turn into a huge dessert within the next 20 years due to global warming. @@angeltcmusic1 You're confirming my point that the official reason wasn't offside and pretend like you've proven me wrong lol.
penalty Siviglia Roma....
fullkrug comes from offside and controls the ball with the hand
he doesn't come from offisde... neither did he control the ball with his hand?. also a slight touch with hand in a close quarter situation is not being sanctioned
@@ThomasSamoth-ls8ed and Tony kroos is an ángel. Red card for him. Shit of last game injuring players.
@@andoniitu1488 you're incredibly bias and dishonest
Sorry for germany 😢😢😢😢
Shows that countries don't necessarily pay FIFA for fixing games...
He is very much to blame for the loss to Spain, late substitutions, you put Wirtz on 1-0 for Spain, you didn't take Matt Hummels in the championship, nor Marco Reus, these are players for big games, Can, Gundogan, and especially Havertz were huge mistakes that cost, only to the quarterfinals.JULIAN NAGELSMANN
i will hear the cry , if German referee would do this at english game....
Best euro organised by Germany but worst referee decision on field
the ref looked like a confused child lost at the mall
Füllkrug Handball mit seinem Arm, bevor er zu Musiala zurückkehrt
Doesnt matter, Fullkrug was offside and he also handballed it before it even hit cucurella
The handball was preceeded by an offside. Case dismissed.
Kroos should've been sent off in the 1st half.
Germans complaning about the ref is a joke.
Spain recovered from a goal by the local team in the 89th,that takes guts and personality. The better team won. Vamos España!
