- This is the superbly crafted titanium piston kit from Paul Short. It has transformed the rifle once again and now it has a nice quick shot cycle. Very well made and a lovely rifle to shoot.

Do you have a chronograph. Just so we can see what effect the parts do to the performance of the gun.
Greetings! Thank you for your updates on the HW97! Also I would like to know if you compared the m/s or fps before and after updating the air rifle? It would be a great help to see the difference on before and after also to show the groups before and after the work is done.
We all will appreciated. Keep up us update a thank your time! God bless you.
That looks like minimal recoil, I use a HW80k in .22 with a SFS tune and the difference is amazing. Thanks for your time and effort.
Hello
My name is Dr. Ricardo Sandoval from El Salvador, Central America.
I am looking for Paul Short to buy a Titanium kit for a HW97.
Can you provide me the Mr. Short contact?
Thank you in advance
Why no chrono readings or target accuracy examples ? Mentioning the cost of the stage 3 kit and the titanium piston would also have been useful.
Hi , i tuned in to learn about the Paul Shorts kits , so found that interesting .
However , is that a workbench ( black and decker or the like ) that you are using to shoot off ? I am looking for a shooting table and trying to find something suitable but not too expensive , thanks
Where is the speed measurement with the chronograph, where is the target with the results?
It is not a good and educational video, so anyone can make a video on YT and claim that their project has succeeded.
Hi Neil, Barry here from Heckington. Could I just ask if the stage 2 glided tune by Paul (non titanium) is a mile away from the stage 3 titanium glided tune?
I am putting my 97 into him mid month and I’m undecided which tune to get, the rifle is really accurate now out to 50m so I am considering which tune to get?
Barry
Lovely action but the rifle seems to move from left to right on recoil?
if the goal is light recoil and less power ,its the way ,if you want more power a heavy piston is better ,because its generates a higher and longer peak pressure and so more heat and thats heat creates more air volume caused by the compression ,thats also the reason that the transfer port must not to big a big hole flows better and then compression is lower but also you get less heat
Although he is bloody crap at responding to people
I've just ordered one off Paul and the service and Comms were 110 % . Shipped to Portugal. Not fitted yet as I want a few more days looking at the outstanding engineering. Work of art if you ask me 👍👍👍👍
Its super. Can you give Paul Shorts contact details please?
That looks like a lot less recoil to standard too. Very nice.
I've a stock HW97K in EU spec. (20 joule I think) and a Daystate Wolverine HP. I much prefer the HW for general stuff. This upgrade interests me if available for my rifle.
Non FAC uk is 16joule
How can I reach Paul Short?... This is what I need. I have a 97 that is standard and, well its powerful, like right up to the limit. But the recoil ruins it, the gun is mega hold sensitive and the sound from the action varies. Thunck good groups, twangs bad groups..
He is in all of the Weihrauch groups on facebook. That is probably the easiest way to contact him.
Sums up all with the sounds😀
I have watched a good few of your videos and I am a subscriber ....They are informative.
However I would like to know what sort of cost these kits are... I own an lgu and it is a brilliant rifle, then you showed the conversion done on your lgu... some rough costing information would be great , for us not in the tuning crowd .
Many thanks.
Hi - as I have said before , most tuners don't just publish their prices but are happy to discuss work directly with the customer. I have put a list of prices for the work that I have had done at the time of it being done on my facebook group - shootingatdawn
Hi, I got two of hw97 in .22 and .25 cal.
Would you mind to give me the advise about where to buy titanium kit to tune my rifles with.
All the best to you
Hi great video
Just wondering how I can go about getting one of these kits for mine ? Dose Paul have a website or Facebook page or how can I contact him please.
Thanks for your time and help
I always contact him via facebook.

Put some new videos up guy!! Been waitin.. like that 97 stuff!!
Is the transfer port standard size?
It seems to me if i were telling everyone how great my new piston was i would show a before and after installing the new piston video. I want to see feet per seconds. How much is it going to improve my rifle speed in feet per seconds
I think you’re missing the point here. The tune is not about increasing the power feet per second (FPS) as the gun is already close to the legal limit as standard.
The point of the tune is to improve consistency from shot to shot, improve lock time, reduce recoil, improve trigger with smoother brake point with no creep etc. making for a more accurate gun.
Any chance of a link where to get the Titanium piston and how about a chrony test ..
+spyro1967 - contact Paul Short direct - he can be found in many of the springer tuning groups on facebook and the HW springer groups too. His email is gamekeeper43@hotmail.com
Many thanks ..
Hi. please give us some numbers! Fps at the original HW 97, stage 3 and than Titanium! and costs. and where we can buy the kit. Thanks!!!
All my guns are tuned to around 11.2 ft/lbs - which is where I like them. The titanium gun will be fettled to this when I have shot a few pellets through it. Costs - most tuners don't advertise their prices but are happy to discuss your requirements if you contact them. they are are available quite easily through facebook. Most are on my facebook group shootingatdawn
are they available in FAC version too ?
Nice rifle nice work nice video thanks
titanium itself is not expensive,...but it is, because of its hardness, incredibly difficult to work with. You need special tools and a lot of machining time to get a finished product. That's what makes it expensive. I'm going to by myself a new air rifle and while researching I stumbled over your video. I just can't decide between the Walther LGU and the Weihrauch hw97. Both rifles are pretty much the same price here where I live. Have you had opportunity to try the LGU and can give me an educated opinion? You seem very objective. thank you.
What scope is that?
V Cool! Where can I get one of these kits? Do you have any contact info? I cannot find anywhere in the UK.
Thanks!
Very nice vid. Where can I purchase this beautiful costom thumbhole stock?
Greetings from NL
Thanks for the review, but I'm disappointed... why couldn't we see the target, or what you were shooting at ?
Do you know if there is a kit for the tx200 that paul does?
Just get in touch with him and ask. Contact him via facebook on one of the many Weihrauch groups.
Another great vid mate. Recoil wise how does it compare to your skirtless tx?
It will be difficult to compare the 2 guns realistically. The TX only produces around 10.5 ft /lbs at teh mo and I don't really want to crank the preload up on it as it shoots nice as it is. I will have this one set to over 11 ft / lbs - the recoil is minimal - it is the same with any gun, once you are shooting it and get used to it, you dont notice it. Its all about lack of sight picture moevement :)
I couldn't understand how much fps on how much caliber.
Thanks
Hi, Neil could I ask where you got your target with the four panels from, cheers Ray
Hi, I'm looking to get my LGU tuned for less recoil. Who would you say was the better bet, Paul or Nick? Thanks.
Neil, really enjoy your videos - not just air gunning but the wood working stuff as well. Do you do refits on air rifles? Just bought an AA TX200 which I would like your opinion on if possible. Do you have an email address? Cheers, Mark
Whats and wheres the stock from please
Custom Stocks mate
www.customstock.co.uk/cs700-thumbhole-stock-variation/
Does this improvement take the gun over 12ftlb?
No. It smooths out the shot cycle and makes it sweeter to shoot.
@@shootingatdawn thanks
Hi how do I contact Paul Short please
Good good vidios my friend ,saludos desde mexico.
Paul not Peter Short
Nice video pal just got my piston back from Paul and it's very nice
Wow, the rolls royce of pistons
How much is the titanium? Thanks
My Paul short tx200hc is amazing, excellent quality work , love how it shoots now. For what it costs it’s Well worth it. 100% recommend Paul and his work, only problem now I need my other guns done by him lol. Atb
What's his address please?
Have a look on face book mate.
How does this compare to the gibney 22mm gun
Sadly don't use Facebook but thank you for reply.
Nice rifle nice work nice video thanks
Does he make kits for other makes, such as rws or diana?
keep the vids coming pal 👍👍
No recoil!😳
Cracking video again neil,i wish i had never sold my stage 3 tuned hw 97 centenary now! Pauls workmanship is outstanding 👍🏻
Cracking video of some great engineering. Can anyone let me know how to contact Peter Short?
@@duncananderson466
I know this is 6 years on but, I’m having the same problem as you did six years ago. Mate it would be easier to get King Charles personal mobile number than to get any sort of contact with Paul Short? Did you manage in the end to get a number or email or anything? If you did any chance of letting me have it. Thank you
Love it !
How can I contact Paul short please thanks Marc
+marc oshea gamekeeper43@hotmail.com
shootingatdawn thanks very much really enjoy your videos 👍
Ok how do i get hold of paul for some custom work
Gamekeeper53@hotmail.com or he is on the Weihrauch groups on facebook.
@@shootingatdawn Thankyou
@@shootingatdawn have you tried the v mach kit . If so do you know what its like
A v mach kit is just guides and spring. Similar to tinbum kits and the like. I have a v Glide 97, but that's got a remachined piston including delrin guide rings etc.
@@shootingatdawn is it 43 or 53 ive seen you post both for Paul's contacts? Thanks and he doesn't reply to anything on fb been trying for some time now
Hi Neil, great vid, I run a Nickg 160g allu 25mm piston myself paired with a vmach kit and one with a wonky kit, certainly find these lighter pistons the way to go with the right spring.
So where can these be bought?
Contact Paul Short either through Facebook on any of the Weihrauch groups or at gamekeeper43@hotmail.com
@@shootingatdawn Hi, Seen a couple of your posts on forums and see you live at Newark, I live in Sleaford, do you get over this way at all?
@@andersonec1 I am a member of the range and country gun range at Rauceby. I get there when I can which as been to to much lately. Lol
@@shootingatdawn Was over there a couple of weekends ago with our vets breakfast club, not a member yet but we will be doing it again sometime, I will say when we are going again and hopefully I can meet you to ask some questions.
@@shootingatdawn There's a bunch of us going to Rauceby on 9th Nov 11am, if you're going over could you ask for "the breakfast club guys" as I would like to ask you a couple of questions about this.
Hi all is there a contact number for paul short as i can't find one .
