    I'm 61 years old and I ride a Boosted Mini X electric board. When I was 18, I bought the Moto-Board , a 2-cycle motorized skateboard sold to me used from 17th Street Surf Shop in Virginia Beach. I used to be on their skateboard team so I got a few percent discount but it was $300 in 1979 money which is was a whole lot. I had so much fun with that board! It was worth every penny to me. It sounded like a chainsaw and had a 26cc engine and chain drive to one rear wheel. It was noisy and would do 20 MPH with the muffler attached and 25 MPH without the muffler. Loose dogs would love to chase me down the street. Sometimes I'd have four or five of them at a time chasing. One day I ran out of gas doing that. Adrenalin sports. One day I noticed an empty glass pocket flask bottle of Jack Daniels on the side of the road. I took that and made it my extended range top off fuel supply. People would be interested in the board and come up to talk when I stopped to rest and I'd say "it runs on Jack Daniels" and pull the flask out of my pocket and top it off. A lot of them really believed that it ran on Jack Daniels. One day I was in a school yard parking lot with some friends and a rough looking older guy came up and started bullying us. He asks me "what's that in your back pocket". I pulled the flask out and held it up label side facing him. He yells "gimme that" and grabbed it out of my hand, opened the cap and guzzled a bunch of it. I tried so hard to stifel my laugh while that guy just suffered gagging on the two stroke fuel mixture.

    I did the skateboard thing back in the 70s years before the 2 strokes came out, at that time you didn't see anything bigger than 50 or 55 mm mm and you certainly weren't going on gravel, 15 miles is a good long ways on a skateboard

    I got quite a scare watching this video. I was multi-tasking in my kitchen, making supper with my toaster oven in between glances over at my PC screen. You were cruising along at what seemed like break-neck speed in that cemented area while the skate boarding music played in the background.
    I was looking back at my toaster, when all of a sudden, the music stopped and I heard a sound like someone falling off a cliff into a deep chasm. The sound was like someone screaming as their voice faded into the distance.
    I thought, Oh my god! We've lost NNKH. Looking back at my screen in horror, I realized I was watching a combat video game advertisement inserted into your product review. Whew, that was a close one.

Even up bridges! I have to agree with your review. I don't like a thing about the replacement. I've got a way better premium remote with lighted digital screen, better brakes, better wheels, digital power gauge, Powerbank charger for phones/laptop etc, And the deck even looks better. I've taken her through crazy terrain and puddles also and never had a wheel fall off or ANY issues whatsoever. Fastest i've ever gone was 23mph and I had to back off. At my age and weight if I fall something will break and it won't be the board!

    Been using the mini 2s for a year or so super regularly in an Urban environment and gotta say I completely disagree ab the tail or how high it comes up. It's actually a blessing to be able to kick it up and catch it like a skateboard rather than bend over to pick up the 20 lb thing. Also super useful to be able to kick turn sharp turns around a corner or other situations. Also never had it be a problem while riding, you can shift your foot an inch closer to the center of the board and effectively remove any kick tail issue you might have.
    To each their own!

    • @NNKH2
      @NNKH2  Год назад +1

      The tail is awesome to have no doubt. But it should be longer. I have a Enskate shortboard which has a longer tail and it is a game changer. Anyway, short tail is better than no tail

    Chris you should really try a Boosted board v2 plus. They have the vanguard Loaded bamboo deck and carve so damn nice. The power band and the feel is like a german car. Yes they're out of business but the used market is hot and you can find so many replacement parts if needed. I was big into the local eskate scene and have a lot of experience with different boards and most people stuck with Boosted because of the ride and feel of them....there's nothing that compares. These hub motor designs ride harsh.

For commute in the city, if and when you plan on getting on a train or subway every once in a while you just can`t beat that lil board imho.

    It’s a shame they’ve made their V series of boards and mini series of boards their absolute budget boards, that are actually downgraded in many ways from their older boards.

    Not sure what this video recommends, but DO NOT BUY MEEPO. I have been a customer for 5 years, there ESC randomly stops working, causing extremely dangerous situations when you suddenly cant break! They used to be good with customer service, but after telling them about this issue they completely left me out to dry. The company has gotten too big it would seem, the days of dealing with a passionate skateboarder are gone. Completely profit driven with no support, and faulty dangerous boards. I have always recommended Meepo, but I will never buy from them again! Removing their sticker from my helmet as we speak, the only thing with their name on it that actually works.

    Anything with a hand held remote control sucks . Onewheels and EUC are what’s up . The riding experience isn’t comparable. Don’t waste your time with all the shitty 4 wheels with hand held remotes , truly inferior.

    • @NNKH2
      @NNKH2  Год назад

      Couldn't disagree more. Those are useless if they ever break or the battery dies. You have a big heavy weight you got to carry home. The skateboard stays functional even with a dead battery

      @@NNKH2 carry home ? My EUCs have 70-90 mile range .I’ve never seen below 25 percent battery, ever . But most importantly, The riding experience is superior . It’s not even close . The hand held is lame as fuck , in comparison . Replacing gravity with electricity and accelerating and decelerating from body movement….. vs standing on a big remote control car . From agility , speed , torque, and jumping ….. EUC is the best in every category .

      To each their own. I prefer something that can be used with or without a battery. Electric bike, scooter, skateboard. One day you're going to be carrying that thing home when it has some sort of failure and you'll be thinking of me. Lol.

    • @NNKH2

      The skateboard doesn't rely on electronics to balance. That's a big selling point for me

      @@NNKH2 fair enough, I’m all electric . Ill never ride a bike electric or not , because of the handle bars . I’ll never ski or snowboard or surf again. I’ve done all of them since age 5 , when I started skiing. All do not compare and are so inconvenient and expensive [ because of travel} euc can go to mountains snow , the desert sand , and the city concrete. I have a charger that weighs maybe a pound in my bag and I live in the city with places to charge . A once in lifetime where there is a battery issue or whatever , I’ll take a cab that one time .
      So yeah , we are definitely after something different, I respect that you are going natural but I’m over it ☺️. The euc is like being half robot , It’s not like riding, it’s like moving through space as a single entity .
