- Someone Has Been In My Campervan in Secure Storage. We have our holiday home on wheels stored in Colarado for the last 9 months and have been excited get back to our RV. However when we get to the secure storage site, it is quickly evident that someone has been in and tampered with our van.
In this US Vanlife video, we figure out who has been in our van and why. We also hit the road ready for another great American road trip.

Hello and welcome to our channel! We are Alex & Emma, a British couple who have been exploring the world together for over 10 years - from backpacking to vanlife:
2012/13: We both embarked on our own solo backpacking trips through Southeast Asia, where we would eventually meet at a hostel in the mountains of Thailand and begin traveling together. After a year and a half of backpacking around Southeast Asia & Australia, we returned home and to the corporate world!
2015: Travel Beans was born and we filmed our first videos on a road trip around Europe with friends! This was our biggest trip yet.. and you can go back and watch the entire adventure because we filmed ALL of it! This trip took us through Russia, Mongolia & China, on the longest railway journey in the world. Followed by highlights such as staying on a local island in the Maldives for a month, going on safari in Sri Lanka, couchsurfing & hitchhiking in Korea, seeing the snow monkeys in Japan, island hopping in the Philippines, trekking 60km through the centre of Myanmar, exploring the Indian Himalayas, and checking out some of the incredible US National Parks.
2016: Despite an unbelievably memorable year and a half of travels, which we were incredibly grateful to have had the privilege to experience.. we found ourselves in New York City, battling depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on.
2017: After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle. We left the UK with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a continuous travel lifestyle happen! We both got online English teaching jobs to be able to fund our travels and to keep creating videos. We can't quite believe that our younger selves decided to take this plunge but we are so grateful they did as we are still on this journey today!
What now?
Over the years, we've discovered that we LOVE road trips and even decided to renovate our very own little VWT4 van into a campervan to be able to enjoy vanlife and spend more time on the road. We are now the proud owners of 2 awesome little campers - one based in the UK and one that we keep in the USA. You'll often find us using one of these vans to explore Europe and North America. FOR THOSE WONDERING HOW WE PULLED THIS OFF: When Alex and Emma did video where they stored it, they drove by the sign, It was fuzzy but with about 10minutes of googling I found out the location. I called the owner and told him what I wanted to do. They work on units there as well so he had no problem getting the Phoenix Decal that we designed installed for me. Then I just sat and waited for like 8 months,,,lol.

I think it's pretty cool that the people that sold you the van went out of their way to do that! Some of the best people and some of the best memories are found on the road.
I don't think it's cool at all. It's weird and creepy. They went out of their way to track down where the van is stored, somehow managed to convince the owner to give them access to it (!!!) and then made a modification to somebody else's property without their permission.
@@JakTbhthe Beans do have a bit of a relationship with the seller/previous owners. I thought it was a nice gesture. And you never know, somebody may have contacted the beans and we just don't know that part.

I have a photo of my grandfather and Buffalo Bill after my grandfather won a contest. Very sad what happened to the Buffalo ( Bison) but fortunately they have been allowed to rebound. I have come rather close to them when snowmobiling in Yellowstone. Treat them with the respect they deserve.

Buffalo Bill actually was putting on a show in my local town of Leigh in the UK some of the indigenous Americans stayed in the area .

Ha! My daughter graduated from the Colorado School of Mines so I know Golden quite well. It’s a very cool little town with plenty to do. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Reverend’s Ridge is not far from there and is a fantastic place to camp.

If you are going to be in Colorado, you need to go see Bishop Castle in Rye, Colorado. I think you would love it.
There are many places in Colorado that are a must see but my favorite area is Estes Park at the entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park. I bet it feels a little creepy knowing someone else was in your van.
Colorado is a wonderful state...my son and grandchildren live here, I visited last June...will be back next year...love your video and love to the three of you...Have a great time in Colorado

I don't think the storage owner would do that or let that happen. Bad for business. Yes, they have access to the van. They're most likely the ones who left the letter inside but the decal was from the camper van dealer.
I like that the two of you spend all of your time together and with your child. It’s certainly not the norm these days especially when many couples have separate bank accounts and take separate vacations. Outside child care or private nannies are the thing. My spouse and I spend all of our time together. Instead of focusing on time apart we focus on time together. Best wishes!

If you store it again buy moth balls and put lots all around the storage unit. It helps to keep down unwanted guess.

I looked and didn't see this suggestion so here goes. I was recently told that mice and bugs hate dryer sheets. When you put Phoenix into storage again, you could buy a box of Bounce and scatter the sheets about the van.
What an awesome gift! Super sneaky too, well done! Glad you guys had a good first night. I recommend the Geek Are Fan btw for backup. It's a portable rechargeable high velocity fan and it's awesome. Hours and hours of runtime on one charge and the low setting moves a ton of air. I just bought a second for my camper van and it's well worth the cost. Cheers!
If you store your van again you should use bounce laundry sheets and spread them in all areas of your van and storage areas as mice will not like the smell . Vintage cars regularly use This method to keep mice from their vehicles when in storage . I’ve used it and never had a problem
I spent my childhood in Golden. You should go on a tour of the Coors brewery. It's very noisy, so you might need ear protection for the little one. Go to Red Rocks Amphitheater during the day, even if all you do is walk around it. If only you had arrived a couple weeks earlier, you could have gone to the Jefferson County Rodeo (July 19-22). Maybe next year! Also, go to Central City for some old-fashioned fun.
Hooray for a successful first night! We just left Colorado in our motorhome. Hope you will make it to Rocky Mountain National park, it is amazing! Highly recommend bear lake, lily lake, and alluvial fan, easy walks with a little one!

Hi Beans. It looks like there is a rear AC unit on the roof. These operate only on 120 volts AC power. I do not think your van has an on board generator so you would have to stay in a camp ground that has sites with AC power in able to use the rear AC if it does indeed function. Hopefully there is an operating manual for the AC unit so that you can get up to speed on it. On another topic you need to learn how to use the frig in the van. It will be either a 2 way or a 3 way frig. A 2 way frig works on AC power or propane from the on board tank. A 3 way frig will add DC voltage operation. Some travellers use the DC function as they drive down the road.Usually the alternator will provide enough power to handle the elictrical load. HOWEVER when you stop for the night you NEED to switch over to gas operation or plug into campground AC power otherwise the frig will kill the house battery in short order. The "house"batteries are not adequate to run the frig overnight. Your frig is likely new enough that it will have electronic starting when /if you select the propane option. I know a bit to learn . Have a great visit to the US

Noah is getting so big way too fast. He is adorable and I love his little smiley face. I was only in Colorado once in my life and I was only 20 years old. I was in Boulder near the college campus there. A couple of my friends were going to classes for the summer. I just never wanted to leave. It is so beautiful.
