    • @TheBaronOfBromley
      @TheBaronOfBromley 3 года назад +7

      @A smile on my face but a Demon inside That's cos the frame rate can't keep up with the double-strokes, which is a common issue with drum videos. Further confusion is caused by the fact that when the tempo goes right up the technique becomes more of a "toe-toe" than "heel-toe", but it's still double-strokes.

    • @teacherfromthejungles6671

      @@TheBaronOfBromley Also some peoples heel toe technique involves less heel than others. I for example have to do it barefoot and you can obviously see my heel touch. I guess foot placement and footwear make a huge difference and spring tension.

      True! I've never heard this much accuracy coming from someone's feet, ankles and legs before. Plus, he makes it look effortless. Does he even break a sweat? I don't see it in this video. This is pure drumming accuracy from all four limbs.

    Dear drum videographers: please finally realize the standard of 60FPS videos for high speed drummers so we can witness in much better clarity the physical feats we are listening to. Some parts are just objectively too fast for a 24fps video to properly capture. Thank you.

    • @aconsciousperspective5628

      Is this why his feet and legs don't look like they're moving as fast as the sound of the his double bass?

    • @Khunvyel
      @Khunvyel 4 года назад +1

      @@aconsciousperspective5628 Pretty much. You can still glean that it has to do with his heel-toe technique, but the rest gets lost with how much actuation force the beater hits. There are a few rare shots in there where you might figure out that you actually see a LL RR pattern with heeltoe, heeltoe (at least, I'm seeing it, doesn't mean that this is correct since again... there is an issue with syncing as the audio is not lined up correctly in all shots. Different camera angles have different audio displacement compared to the footage).

      @@tarakerac Of course you can! :) There are a great many tests that will prove to you how there is a visual improvement in how you perceive the images on a monitor. There are even things you can do yourself that show you how your eyes can easily discern and deal with 60fps and beyond :)

    • @Koziolrh
      @Koziolrh 4 года назад +3

      @@tarakerac yes, we don't see in frames per second. 24-30 is essentially bare minimum to kinda trick our brain that the motion is smooth and it looks good for most of the video stuff but lots of information normally visible to us is lost. You will easily see a difference between 30, 60, 120 and even 240 fps on a display with correct refresh rate.

    "The judge smiled. Men are born for games. Nothing else. Every child knows that play is nobler than work. He knows too that the worth or merit of a game is not inherent in the game itself but rather in the value of that which is put at hazard. Games of chance require a wager to have meaning at all. Games of sport involve the skill and strength of the opponents and the humiliation of defeat and the pride of victory are in themselves sufficient stake because the inhere in the worth of the principals and define them. But trail of chance or trial of worth all games aspire to the condition of war for here that which is wagered swallows up game, player, all.
    Suppose two men at cards with nothing to wager save their lives. Who has not heard such a tale? A turn of the card. The whole universe for such a player has labored clanking to this moment which will tell if he is to die at that man's hand or that man at his. What more certain validation of a man's worth could there be? This enhancement of the game to its ultimate state admits no argument concerning the notion of fate. The selection of one man over another is a preference absolute and irrevocable and it is a dull man indeed who could reckon so profound a decision without agency or significance either one. In such games as have for their stake the annihilation of the defeated the decisions are quite clear. This man holding this particular arrangement of cards in his hand is thereby removed from existence. This is the nature of war, whose stake is at once the game and the authority and the justification. Seen so, war is the truest form of divination. It is the testing of one's will and the will of another within that large will which because it binds them is therefore forced to select. War is the ultimate game because war is at last a forcing of the unity of existence. War is god."
