It would be equally interesting with both drummers and guitarist. Aside from it being simply interesting to see what goes on when they perform stuff like this, it could maybe help with research into prevention and management of focal dystonia.
Hey Andy, can you comment on the technique or studio magic I'm seeing with the pedal work. It looks like his 16th and 32nd note bass drum strokes require the same input. Something is criminally missing on this backing track, the vocalist. That's the worst thing about this video because one's of Longstreth's strength is how he writes his drum parts to highlight the vocals. He strategically accents certain words or parts during the song that makes the vocalist pops out in the mix and makes him sound even better. You'll get a totally different experience if you focus on the relation between the vocalists and the drums.

@@AndrewRooneyDrums on the other side of things it's dynamic to. With such a big bell you can hit with the tip of the stick as easy as the side, and not have to be to accurate.
Only obvious negative for me is it's an extra 5lbs in the cymbal bag hehe.
Love to see you react to Kevin Paradis from Benighted
Sounds good
I regret not getting the classic custom dark the only problems I've have with them is some of the crashes are a little to thick for me.
Classics custom dark is great cymbals for every kind of music!!! They has clarity, crispness, loud is amazing sounding chinas here maybe is 20" for sure..ah he says 18" ? ok is nice anyway !! I love them and is at the middle budget not too expensive than others without so many wide characteristics!!
Great to hear Stamatis!
I saw him warming up on the cap of a water bottle once it was insanity
Beast! 💪
Indeed Fergal!
Fuck yeah man, keep up the good work!!
Thanks brother!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Anytime!! These fellers got gnarly chops on em!
One thing I've always been interested in seeing is some kind of brain/neuromuscular monitoring of an extreme metal musician while playing stuff like this.
Is he double stroking to hit the trigger? The beater heads don't appear to be moving any faster (camera FPS?)? @5:30 and 7:30 you can clearly see see what I'm talking about. Love the vids. Thanks for all your work.
He uses double strokes on his feet. Sort of the master of it in metal. Sometimes the framerate can't keep up.
Yes it can be hard at that speed to see clarity. Bit of a blur.
I'd have to go through it again!
He uses double strokes on his feet. I cannot help with this video in specific, but I know for a fact he can actually play it. He performs live constantly
Did you notice the "1 handed Roll"? Seen heard him play in the earlier days? I've played along side him (on Bass) from the start. He's ALWAYS been very strict on his technique, and his internal metronome is mind blowing. Love the man like a Brother to this day. I'll give a link to a show we did when the band went on it's first tour. He just DOES NOT STOP.
CHEERS!

Toca absurdamente com uma tranquilidade...
Hi! I am new to the channel and I really like your reaction videos. As a lifelong Genesis, and concerning drums Phil Collins fan, I would like to see a reaction to Phil Collins video. There are tons of material, two-drum solos, two drums plus a percussionist, drumming with the barstool, etc. Thank you and keep it up!
Sounds good Salvador!
I love them, most of my current setup consists of the Meinl Dark Customs. I just want that mega bell ride that's custom for him.
They released it as a product in their lineup this year that you can purchase
Great to hear Mark!
Hey man you should check out vildhjarta - den heliga anden drum playthrough. Insane grooves. The title of the video even says "but with real drums". Maybe it's midi in the record but he plays it flawlessly live
Thanks for the tip Daniel!
Those rides have a really neat and weird sound at the same time. Sabian does something similar to those Meinl ones, Aquiles Priester uses them. Check him out! I'm sure you already know him, he is Angra's ex-drummer and a beast behind the drum kit.
He’s been requested a lot Nahuel! But not on patreon list just yet
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Nice! I hope you have a Patreon request soon! Thanks for the reply :) I hope you are doing very well.
The machine killing it again, origin, top fuel Drumming, it sure is a nice blue sparkle blue and Olive badge Ludwig sitting on that table next to that coffee that was the color of my first probeat set but the badges were more of the pointy first generation than the rounded second generation but I've seen some nice earlier ones that you had on the table when your collection
Alright you got a sub I love your stuff
Hey thanks!!
Your a stellar dude. And I like how you break stuff down. Even un-metal related. I use up on jazz drums, Gene Krupa and the great, Buddy Rich. I respect ypur content
Hail Space!
Yup!
@Andrew Rooney Drums Got ya self a Ludwig Acrolite Metallic snare mate, very nice indeeeeeed!
Ludwig Acryllic! It's great
I own these symbols!!! I am very happy with them. For the price it doesn't get better imo. The Chinas are my favorite
Awesome Drakaus! 🥁💯🙌
Have you checked out Max Sansalone aka 'dimsunk' yet? not metal, very chill and funky. totally amazing. He get my vote for an upcoming video!
Good opening brehv
Some of these dudes are so zen. Extreme metal must take you to a higher plane.
