Back in the day, this was actually originally released as an Arcade game, and in those times they were really, reaaaaally good at kicking your ass unfairly so you were obligated to pump more quarters in to continue playing

You do know that Dragon's Lair and all the others were hand drawn. Every frame. Also, Bluth has quite interesting repertoire of animations he worked on. He did work for Disney for a time and resigned due to Disney being Disney (already back then). It is interesting that those films he worked on were specifically those that are deemed "Disney Renaissance". I could say that he is the reason Disney is still in existence is in great part thanks to him (in good an in ill). There are quite a bunch of gems he worked on like The Secret of NIMH, Titan A.E., The Land Before Time to name few. Anyway! Thanks for reminding me that this animation - even as of writing it is over 42 years old it still looks good.
Look anyone saying in chat that Jerma has 'boomer reflexes' there are two things you need to know about Dragons Lair, 1. The people who still love it are 90% boomers. 2. Those boomers, when they were kids, pumped enough of their mum's spare change into those machines for them to notice! so to put it more clearly, no, it didn't help them to have youthful reflexes lol.
BTW if anyone is fond of boomer tech, go and check out the Commodore 64 version of Dragons Lair. It had only 8 levels but idk it was still fun? Still stupidly hard tho lmao. it had a fucking awesome soundtrack that I still listen to from time to time, like, that balls rolling up and down the walls level has a cool chase theme. (helps that the composer was one of the most genius of the computer era!) anyway I'll shush now 🤓
thats not boomer tech though it occured post-boom. boomers were woodstock and nam participants. pong, whack-a-mole, etc are examples of legit boomer-tech.
if you saw the team of animators working on it (bluth just key framed it), you would also call it anime. its because the animators are all japanese or korean. dennis the menace, in the 80s, was a definite american-made anime.
I can't believe this isn't edited. This first game is nuts
im 45 min in it feels like my brain is gonna start leaking out of my ears
The second is even more nuts.

@SpiralReverie right like I tried playing street fighter 2 on my cousins arcade machine and it was INSANELY hard and unfair lol
2:46:49 had me in tears, never in my life a single sound made me laugh so much
Sounded like he was turning into a terrible beast
i eventually got to the point where i was so overwhelmed that i was just pissing myself laughing every single time he died
Dude you pissed????? Oh no!!!!
It's really impressive Jerma managed to play Dragons Lair with his eyes closed the entire time
Apparently he also had his hands tied behind his back. Yet somehow this is the same guy that died to pinwheel 🤔
