There are loads with Ed and Phil (look up muchmusic 2001 for example). Only one I’ve seen of Jonny and Ed is a Japanese one in 1994 but then Jonny doesn’t do alot of interviews
Ed is brilliant in this interview...finally not taking themselves very seriously unlike some of the fans i know....anyway radioheads evolution is pretty clear and i love to see what would the new album sounds like.
I wouldn't say loves, he's just the most comfortable. Ed usually takes the role in interviews because the others can be too awkward but he can handle it.
Bwa ha ha ha! I've always thought of Ed as the least like radiohead person (not guitar player) in the band, cause of how some members jokingly have made fun of him and his obsession with cool shoes or how he is into mall shopping or how he likes Led Zep, and yet he explains radiohead so easily and carelessly. Whereas the other members care too much and can't do it. Were into bull@#&^! ha ha ha! That's not true Ed, but that's a perfect explanation.
I think this interview must've been done the day before the cancelled show in Melbourne, or something... Thom's voice sounds pretty bad here, he had a nasty throat infection apparently.
@jony7779 There's two things I've heard that explain: 1. He doesn't like making eye contact. 2. He doesn't like interviews. I don't know if that's true or not, but there you go.
Probably the main reason Radiohead is my favorite band is because of how innovative their music is. They've tackled, in some way, virtually every genre imaginable at this point, often doing several different things on one album alone. Grunge, ballad, jazz, electronica, experimental - you name it, they can do it.
Remember before "whip" and "nae nae" when things were fucking real and great? Let's bring back : "YEET!"... those were the days. Radiohead Forever. Ed, I'll be Yeeting for you this night. x
"Creep elevated the band from virtual obscurity to stardom." Wasn't Creep their first single ever...? Can a band be considered virtually obscure if they haven't released anything? Aren't they just... nothing?
gorgeous brilliant men my opinion. Hail To The Theif and OK Computer are Radiohead's best albums...course every album of theirs is genius..just those two are my favs.
@Edawg15 On the grand scheme of things I would say they did. Not that they aren't still popular, because they are, but virtually all of their well known songs are from 2000 or before.
@cynthiailly It was in that Rolling Stone article that came out after they released In Rainbows. Funny stuff... and no, I don't normally read Rolling stone. No, it's true. I kind of always looked at Ed as one of those very respectful deush geeks that you can't help just loving for being so. I mean, remember the live at Astoria DVD? He's wearing that terrible shirt open to expose his chest hair.... ha ha ha! No, I guess in recent years he's been into the same books as Thom, so he's changed.
well maybe not the most innovative band ever to exist but certainly the most innovative band of the last 20 years. what bands would you call innovative?
@jamdodgeismyname1 I didn't so no, I can safely say the British did not try to conquer the world. A group of people from Britain maybe, but that's not Britain, a whole country doesn't unanimously act together in a non-linear time frame. Fuck, countrys are borders around a rock, what is the deal.
Bands exist long before they get commercial success. Not everything is the same as "Britain's Got Talent"... They were called On a Friday before they were called Radiohead and they made music. Just didn't record it. Hence... Obscurity!
Radiohead haven't really evolved that much, their albums are all great and they all just try to convey the sound that Radiohead were going for. They are all equally great in their own right. Having said that, OK Computer is their best album, no question.
i agree that kol is their worst album so far (still pretty good though). but i mean come on theyve all got families now its not like they have all the time in the world to do radiohead anymore. one annoying habit iv noticed with them for the last few albums is that they make songs that are potentially fantastic and as good as anything theyve ever made that they then arse up in the studio. im thinking videotape, super collider, all i need and most of tkol.
this is a personal opinion but what the fuck was king of limbs i miss ok computer and my favorite album being the bends i wish they went back to it i mean there is some good newer stuff but what the hell
Alexander Coleman that's really what is great about radiohead. they don't go back. i think they don't want to be loved by their fans by doing what the fans want them to. they always challenge themselves and put out music that they actually want to put out
Finally someone with the same opinion XD like I don't disrespect them for going down new routes but TKOL man what the fuck can I say. Lotus Flower is great and if we're going with that whole era then The Daily Mail is bloody amazing but that's cos it sounds like an OKC song. Bends for life.
I've never seen a Radiohead interview with just Jonny and Ed
Or Jonny and Phil together
Strange
Actually i never seen Phil on any interview LOL
There are loads with Ed and Phil (look up muchmusic 2001 for example). Only one I’ve seen of Jonny and Ed is a Japanese one in 1994 but then Jonny doesn’t do alot of interviews

You know You know
Diaz Ann "it's bullshit really"
You should see John Lennon on Dick Cavett lol
Ed’s bit pretty much defines Radiohead in it’s entirety.
Ed is brilliant in this interview...finally not taking themselves very seriously unlike some of the fans i know....anyway radioheads evolution is pretty clear and i love to see what would the new album sounds like.
Ed loves the camera
I wouldn't say loves, he's just the most comfortable. Ed usually takes the role in interviews because the others can be too awkward but he can handle it.
The camera loves Ed
@@SoftTangerineDreams lol
just to be clear my thumbs up is for what they said, not for how you recorded the interview or how you presented it
Every album of radiohead is a master piece, legends!

I love hearing Ed talk

I think this interview must've been done the day before the cancelled show in Melbourne, or something... Thom's voice sounds pretty bad here, he had a nasty throat infection apparently.
he's too cool for Radiohead
I really liked all of what Ed said...and his shirt is pretty awesome.
@jony7779 There's two things I've heard that explain:
1. He doesn't like making eye contact.
2. He doesn't like interviews.
I don't know if that's true or not, but there you go.
Ed, you're my new hero.
Damn is that a Model o never mind it’s just ED o brien
thom seems very serious or kinda hungover in this interview

"Creep elevated the band from virtual obscurity to stardom." Wasn't Creep their first single ever...? Can a band be considered virtually obscure if they haven't released anything? Aren't they just... nothing?
FlubbytheSailor they played before their album
They played a little as On A Friday but changed it to Radiohead when they got signed after being told to change it
You know, I'm sure Ed never used to say you know quite so much

All three seem so depressed it’s sad because I’ve seen them so much more jovial 🙁
lol they are not depress
gorgeous brilliant men

@Edawg15 On the grand scheme of things I would say they did. Not that they aren't still popular, because they are, but virtually all of their well known songs are from 2000 or before.

Never seen that fuckin Go To Sleep video before!
Bands exist long before they get commercial success. Not everything is the same as "Britain's Got Talent"... They were called On a Friday before they were called Radiohead and they made music. Just didn't record it. Hence... Obscurity!
The narrator makes it sound like radiohead faded into obscurity once 2000 hit. Not true. At all.
Your spelling is!
Ed O Brien is the voice. I just assume he said how it actually is, and the others can't get out of the day to day picture.
@pickledswizzle How rich are you, selling a house to Jonny :O
Thom is REALLY bad at interviews..
alec below he’s just not comfortable

I hate Kid A, it's like electronica mixed with experimental jazz lol. But the rest of they're albums are awesome! :D
i sort of agree with you. id say they stopped evolving really after kid amnesiac.
