Hi Frank, greetings from the city of Adelaide in South Australia. I just want to thank you for your brilliant work on your wonderful scripts. They are a revelation that has made Astrophotography so much easier. Well done!!
Fantastic work on these scripts. I was particularly pleased to see the user defined area option in the find background script as I recently had it select an area of dark nebulosity instead of the background so this is a great update to the script.
I have just discovered your channel. You have worked really hard here and provided us with some fantastic tools, thank you so much. I am planning on releasing a video soon mentioning your scripts, if that's ok with you? Keep up the great work and clear skies
Excellent scripts…thank you for all that you’ve done! I don’t recall seeing a tutorial on the “search parameters” in the background selection tool. Did I miss that somewhere?
Im new to pixinsight and your video's and script's have made it very easy to learn and understand what's going on. I just spent 5hrs learning and playing with Hoo data of the cygnus loop and it has turned out to be the best image i have ever produced i can't wait to put it on my wall. My next project is pulling out the Oiii data from M24 that was discovered by Bray Falls Not going to be an easy task.
Thanks for all the time invested into evolve those tools. A minor improvement I miss is on Stars Stretch one. I'll love to have preselected the current image. I can't count how many times I have opened de script, press the button and close it... without producing any change 😂😂😂
When I was getting the idea for a website, I was going to name it setiastro. Where did you get seti from? For me it was a favorite pharaoh. I couldn't/wouldn't use your name, but I was curious how why you like it? Very useful scripts too. I've been using them.
For me I have been using seti for almost my whole life, referencing back to when i had the original seti@home project in the 90s. So less egyptian and more searching for extraterrestrials
Frank, these scripts are incredible! Particularly the ADBE! I just downloaded the latest version of PI, and it seems to have created issues with your statistical stretch tool, because it causes PI to crash any time I try to run it (even preview mode). Any ideas what could be causing this?
No I dont... what does it say in the console before it crashes? It is literally just pixel math followed by curves. Does it happen on any image as well? If you can grab a screenshot before it crashes you can always email me that too frank@setiastro.com
I used the Star Stretch script for the first time yesterday and really like it. Is there any chance of adding a preview window to the script because otherwise you are kind of guessing what the settings will produce? I worked around this by creating clones and trying different settings.
@@setiv2 I hadn't seen that because I'd kept PixInsight open on my Mac for several days, so I hadn't re-opened it and received Pixinsight's script update notification. I've just checked, and the updated version is there. Thank you for doing this.
The easiest way is go to my site www.setiastro.com/pjsr-scripts and copy the url for the repisitory, then in PI go to Resources->Updates->Manage Repositories, click add and paste tge url you copied from my site there. Then OK OK tyen go back to Resources->Updates->Check fir Updates it will find them and after you downliad them you need to restart PI
I am interested in using your scripts but don't have Pixinsite yet. Is there a way to use the scripts on their own? The work you did to build these scripts is wonderful. Thank you in advance.
I did do a video on finding objects in your images without pixinsight if you wanna take a watch ruclips.net/video/a9j2sY3w--Q/видео.htmlsi=jwaO0hXbBfOj1wwi
If you havent upgraded to PixInsight build 1605 (which came out in March) I highly recommend you do that as all scripts are going to require signatures going forward. You do this from the PixInsight download site. This will fix the error if you are trying to use the repository. If you still run into a parsing error or signature error you can download the zip file directly from my website and then just extract the .js files (delete the .xsgn file). You can then go to Scripts -> Feature Scripts -> Add Script and select the folder you extracted the .js file too. Let me know if this helps Frank
That is the first I have heard of that issue. You can go to Scripts -> Feature Scripts , scroll down and see if you see SetiAstro listed there. What operating system are you on?
@@setiv2 I don't see it. I have the individual scripts that show. I guess that is from previous installs. I am on MacOS Monterrey 12.7.5. Thanks again for the very helpful scripts!
I am less familiar with macs. You can click add scripts from feature scripts and navigate to .../pixinsight/src/ folder and click select folder. It will re look through all of the scripts and add anything missed. I also had feedback from a person they had to add it from the library in yhe menu, not sure what they meant from that.
Hi' thanks for all your great script. I'am using the Repository but the script still is in utillity. I don't have the new setiastro directory, how can that be ?
i really appreciate the scripts you’ve been making, thank you so much!

Hi Frank, thanks for these scripts - they work so well I'm just amazed and so fast too. Happy to be a supporter!
Thank you so much for these brilliant scripts 😊 Grateful 👍
Love and greetings from Turkey. Thank you very much for the scripts. Your scripts helped me level up my astrophotography skills.

I'll add my thanks for all your work on these. I use one or more on pretty much every image I process (or reprocess).
I use all your scripts, and they make life so much easier. Thank you times 10 to the sixth.

Really appreciate all your hard work!
Great to see the Find Background update, thought it might hit the dark nebula by default, new version fixes that, another great script, thanks! 🙏🏼
You are doing an amazing job very impressive, I still need to get my head around the continuum subtraction but overall love using your scripts

I don't have the new setiastro directory, how can that be ?
Can you verify you have build 1605? I had one person they needed to do an updates reset under Resources
@@setiv2
Yes I have the 1605 build
You may have to reset your updates. In PI goto Resources -> Updates -> Reset Updates.
@@setiv2 Ok, after Reset updates, i had about 32 updates. But it end up, the directory still missing.?
I now did go to script > feature script and use the regenerate. NOW your setiastro directory came up !
But only 3 script are inside the folder.
Thanks!
Thank you so much! This is greatly appreciated!
Great work - thanks a lot!
