Lost my dad youngish. Didn’t get enough time with him. Watching Matt and his dad talk make me happy. Rodger is a good person. Matt is a good person. You can feel the mutual love and respect. I wish I could express how truly special and good this is.
Your dad has so much calm confidence in him, and he chooses his words precisely without stumbling. You can clearly see why he was such a successful executive, or maybe you can see what being an executive turned him into… but either way he’s kinda encapsulating in an odd way. Love when he’s on the show! And you can see where Matt gets it from!
Mr.Farah, don’t feel bad about not being there a lot, what you built and what you showed Matt has made it possible for him to do all this and be successful. As a father who works a bit much to build something better than I had for my kids I understand. Raising the bar for your family for future generations is what it’s truly about for fathers.
For whatever reason, listening to these Podcasts with your dad gives me a renewed motivation and inspiration to succeed in my own career. Keep him coming back!
Matt is excellent to listen too, and Roger is of course amazing with what he knows. I think if Matt ventured out away from cars he would be a good podcaster in most settings. He really has got a lot better over the years and this is the best podcast to listen to at work. Keep it up Matt and Zach.
This is brilliant Dad level advice for saving for the future. Both my folks have long since past on, so this is invaluable to hear to keep my head in the game for savings / investments. Thank you both.
Great episode! Your dad certainly brings a lot of knowledge from his successful business background. Would love to hear more about how the garage was looked at for financing and operational viability.
When they are talking about mutual funds, I'm going to assume they are referring to the general class of diversified assets like index funds. Mutual funds generally have a higher cost when compared to index funds.
52:25 It’s hard to find quality clothes in the US. Worse, it can be hard for people to know what is high quality. A real wool jacket will last decades but none of the non-luxury brands make them.
We do our very best to keep a Tuesday / Thursday schedule. But sometimes when I am traveling on several work trips back to back it is simply not possible to realistically hit those days. Even if we don't hit those days exactly, there will still be 2 episodes per week.
No offense but I think Rodger might be a bit behind the times on the mutual fund advice. At work I get to pick from a list of almost 50 different mutual funds for my 401k an the very best of them might hit 7% for one out of the last 10 years. The majority are 1.5-3% over the last 3 years, and some went negative for 2021 and 2022. Also hilarious (in Rodger's favor) that he doesn't know who John Maxwell is. I'd characterize Maxwell as a hack "self-help author" who writes books for small business owners. Rodgers advice on management an leadership is light years ahead of anything that Maxwell has ever written.
I still haven’t forgotten Mr. Farrah’s last podcast and his advice, “you leave the company you are at when you have stopped learning.”

Was just going to type something similar. Lovely to listen to these guys.
@@HawkMillFarm Agreed. It’s truly a father and son moment of appreciation between the two.
What a gentleman. Enjoyed listening to him.

2 generations of New Balance tapping toes is very American and something to be cherished🙌

Aren’t they wearing identical Newbies??
990v6s on Rodger and i think 993s on Matt?
Excuse me as I’m not an expert on the precise models of the new balance footwear
Thank you, for recording this.

You guys have to figure out a way to do a once a month show
Seriously Matt, have your dad on more often. He's one of the top guest.
The heavy hitter himself is back for round 3!

Pre watch thumbs up and shared! Excited for this one!
These two are great! I think we need one of these about every 6 months or so.
Good to see Roger back!
Loved this conversation. It's very evident why Matt is such a humble and empathetic individual. Cheers to you both! 🍻

Bomb-ass episodes with Farah Sr.
This was another great Roger podcast. When he does retire someday, maybe he should write a book!
Looking good, Farah.
Ty

Great show guys

Seeing your dads bond knowledge was hilarious. "what about the pop up lead screen in the back"
Matching New Balances, just missing a Vette
Prewatch thumbs up for pops
Very excited for this one. Comment and liked in advance, for the algorithms.
Great podcast Matt!

Mr. Farah gave have such a nuanced and informed take on WFH. interesting mind and interview. i’d love to hear his unfiltered thoughts on Melon lol
6:20 The audacity of the locals, driving the speed limit for miles!
being a technician, I can say that without our skills nobody operates at a high level.
this one wasn't as good as the last but still happy to hear him
Why is everyone misspelling the name Roger?
Catskills is tropical rain forest per definition

"I made more than $35/day", "No you did not". 🤣
Favorite guest of all time, except for maybe Doug.
Great podcast however It’s not The Ukraine it’s Ukraine for example you wouldn’t say The Canada.
So are Friday uploads the norm now? I'm a creature of habit and not having the show for my Thursday work breaks has thrown me off.
Get over it

Yes, CT drivers are insane. I've never seen so many red lights blown, or lefts on red anywhere else...
It’s the entire North East. The further you get to Maine the worse it gets.

Damn, someone got away w/ confidential info from WCCS and opened up a competing business.
Scrolled through the comments to see if anyone knows who it is. That’s shady as hell
I love how rich people dont retire, why would they its just fun for them bossing people around
678th time Matt tells us his famous story of how he pissed blood selling shoes once a week for a couple hours. Jeez, don't overwork yourself son.
To be fair, Roger brought the topic up. And their disagreement about how much the Sunday shifts earned Matt, was kinda amusing.
The ad audio quality is usually really sad.
