- Matt Farah and I have been friends since 7th grade in middle school back in New York. A few years ago we shot a video on the build process on his car storage facility, but now Westside Collectors Car Storage is OPEN! This is the behind the scenes video (1 take ) tour of his finished masterpiece car garage build. In the garage, he stores Ferrari's, Mercedes, Porsches, Corvettes, and Lamborghini , Audi, Tesla, Subaru Outback and so on... This is a full detail tour that is for the super geek. You can see Mike Musto, Kevin Brown and Derek Bemiss in the background when we were setting up for Musto's Porsche 996 full detail episode from last week.

FYI: We were supposed to release the 1963 Lincoln Continental video today, but I wasn't totally happy with the edit...so I need more time to work on it to do it justice. It will go out next Sunday. Thx for your patience. -L
Take ur time Larry. We love the videos. Happy Holidays
Hey man take your time no rush, at the end it will be an awesome video!
What's Matt Farah's podcast situation?
You're holding out just to mess with me : )
Hey just so you know you said “wok” instead of “work”
As a former commercial electrician, the shout-out for the beautiful conduit work was awesome.
is the coiled cable in induction concern?
@@cliveramsbotty6077 something you saw on the video?
It’s so interesting to see American electric installations. In Europe we very seldom use conduits at all. In fact running single insulated wires in metal conduits hasn’t been legal since the seventies.
@@pettergardo3874 different system, that metal conduit is actually the ground wire for the panel. I think in Europe it's just hot and neutral.
@@philipparana9225 the conduit CAN be used as a ground. But it is a bad practice and rarely done. Any loose fitting on the conduit run will render the path to ground weak or ineffective.
I love how Matt doesn't just own the business and let's someone else manage it. He knows his own building in such detail. Love the passion and dedication.
Any successful small business owner is like this. If your company only has a handful (or a single) location, you should absolutely know every single inch of how it operates. That's just a given.
Your comment is essentially like saying, "I love how the parents are so involved in their children's lives and seem like they really love them". Well yeah, that's pretty much the vast majority of small business owners and parents.
Matt probably has 100 other side hustles going on at the same time so he would run out of time 😂
@@roots4x I think the point is that he doesn't have to know every single detail of the business, he could just as well simply have learned the big picture stuff, paid the bills and hired a on-site manager to deal with the details.
I mean it's a car storage facility, I doubt the customers care if the CEO knows everything about everything or if the manager knows it, or if anyone knows it tbf. I know I wouldn't give a crap about how much hp the lift motors had or how they created the light fixtures in the basement if I stored my car there.
@@roots4x 417 to 2... 😉
@@Speednote10 Nah, that's not how it works. If you have a vision and want something to be successful, you have to get your hands dirty.
To completely sell out a business and start building a 2nd location is no small feat.. hats off to Matt and Zack!
Matt found a demand that wasn't catered to and nailed it. Good for him.
@@shadow7037932 he built it after checking google maps and making sure he's in an area full of wealthy customers and nowhere to leave their cars, and having 1M subscribers doesn't hurt
@@mo-hammadabunaser1367 and his dad is a business genius
I’m happy he is so happy with showing his business
not hard when your dad funds you
That electrical install is art.
I couldn't stop staring at the craftsmanship of that conduit work either. Borderline art. Great vid
Yes agreed
I absolutely LOVE the detail Matt put into that place. That sprinkler system is amazing, and must give exceptional peace-of-mind for owners. 😎
Its insane to see how far Matt and Larry have come. I havent spoken to them in quite some time but i was one of the early members of there NYMC and took Matt with me on Bullrun lol. He drove my M6 from Canada to Key West while i drove my F430 Spider. Only recently i stumbled upon him and Larry again and its great to see both of them so successful. I just picked up a 458 and bought a ton of Ammo stuff this week to clean everything myself lol
Is it weird to say but I just like Matt giving tours of things that he has some knowledge of, he's got the right pace and attitude for me to go right along with him.
Anyone in any type of construction trade can appreciate the quality of work that has gone into building a facility like this.
When an owner brings their passion into their business you see this level of magic and detail. So awesome and well done!
This is awesome I always wanted a tour of Matts shop. Great video Larry
The guy in the back of the first shot, who just knew to back outta the shot is my hero
I can respect the amount of thought and engineering that went into this. Wh am I kidding, Matt called it, I’m a nerd who absolutely loved this tour!
that 996 is so clean. gorgeous facility.
One of my favourite videos so far.
Good God that electrical work so clean and nice
The Nerd Tour is everything i have ever wanted to see. Shout out to skilled trades, too.
What an awesome documentary of Matts facility!! It is Top-Tier!!! 👍✅
Thanks for the tour! Matt has always struck me as a funny, kind and nice person. I greatly admire the two of you and enjoy seeing this content. Continued good luck for you two guys.
Go watch the video where he reviews Ammo NYC porsche. And skip to the end where Matt Farah tells his viewers how he really feels about them. "If you're watching this on youtube you can't afford ammoNYC detail services. Also the guy disrespected a well known member of the Porsche community after he passed away from covid. The guy is a piece of garbage.
Damn this was a cool tour, the most in depth look into this facility I’ve seen and I loved every moment. So many cool nerdy details. Thank you Larry!!
I always thought this facility was a bit small for purpose but perfect otherwise. Glad to hear Matt is expanding. May his success continue, this sort of business saves cars for future generations as well as serving current owners, so it has cultural importance as well as logistical. If I ever am around LA I'll be sure to pop in and drop off some Madeira wine for the booze lockers!
In general space is at a premium anywhere in LA. The fact he was able to build something this large in the location he did is extremely impressive (and lucky).
Matt is crushin it!! Unbelievable facility. Thanks for bringing us.
13:37 especially if someone/something was under that door;)
This place is PERFECTION * Chefs kiss *
Props to both of you and especially Matt. People don't realize how difficult it is to build something, let alone with city regulations and the overall scope of that project. Add to the fact it's a successful and now expanding business model is truly a feat to behold. It's clear Matt (and his team) have put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes and his father's entrepreneurial nature has clearly rubbed off on him. That folks is truly livin the drean.
That is such an attractive way to store these vehicles. Big kudos to Matt for pushing such a project to reality. 👍😎👍
LOL the guy in the background was like "nahhh" at 00:29 seconds
I’ve seen all the tours Matt has done with different RUclipsrs (& for his own channel) and it never gets old seeing this building and the cars inside.
What and incredible facility! And to think I've been watching both TST and AmmoNYC for a decade! It's so heartwarming to see your icons do something that is bigger than just them, and to watch their businesses thrive is just the icing on the cake.
As an electrician, I can too say great conduit work, and it’s very impressive you run that facility on a 400amp service. My house has a 320 amp service.
It's probably 3 phase. Residential most people probably don't even peak beyond 150A usage in the summer assuming a worst case of running AC, oven, dryer, etc and the only real advantage to having 200A service is circuit breaker space. 300A a waste but it's not like it really costs much more to put in a bigger panel with a bunch of blanks.
From Matt early videos to now I can truly say I am happy for him. You own a business and you just didn't just buy a building; you know everything about it, and run it like a responsible business owner. I can say I truly enjoyed the video tour. The amount of organization is stunning. God bless you and your new venture
Matt's looking good. I can tell he's been taking care of his health. Stay awesome buddy!
It’s great to see old friends supporting each other.
The more I see of this building the more in absolute awe I am in. The attention to detail in literally every part of this building is phenomenal
So awesome to see Matt doing well! Thanks for giving us a Tour!
Congratulations Matt! What you built there is freaking awesome ! It’s like a Garage/Storage built with Art !
Matt's attention to detail is incredible. its so overwhelming to make sure everything is going to plan but to put his touch on anything and everything is on another level. i've been a listener of the smoking tire for easily 10 years now and he's the only youtuber i've been committed to all the years. Zach was such a great addition to the name as well.
Matt had nothing to do with it . This is all daddy farahs money .
This is one of your best non-detail videos! I had to screenshot the conduit & equipment to show my contractor how I want mine to look. Truly impressive & well thought through-I can see why you are friends!
Amazing facility ! From the perfect conduits and up, totally top tier ! 🤩
So epic. So much thought went into the build. Matt is a legend and truly loves cars.
What a Cool Place! I could spend hours of just looking at all the different vehicles!
Matt has his own way to be..........but I wouldn't doubt it if he took a couple notes when he visited Jay's garage.......nicely done Matt.........
This dude killed it
I could see Matt opening these around the country, especially in cities with tight space. Great job here by everyone involved. Super clean.
28 outta 10 “Nerd Tour”. Thanks for the vid Larry; phenomenal job to Matt & Team
Been waiting for this video for so long thanks Larry
The quality of your videos is always enjoyable to watch. On par with the best out there.
Such a great facility. Surreal to see that amount of cars stacked up! Another brilliant video.
This project has been on a crazy scale for Matt.. I have no idea how he makes any of it work but good for him, glad to see his vision finally alive and kicking.
Dude i love this massive car collection you have. Utterly gigantic. It's a veritable cornucopia of cars.
Wow. He really did it, what a crazy sob! Congrats on opening up location 2.0!
Absolutely incredible facility, Matt Farah is a legend.
Smash Mouth, DMB and Korn... that's awesome!!! LOL As a kid from the same generation, that's too funny.
Lol that backwards walk out the door
I've been waiting for this episode for years
Cool to see again. Always wicked to see what new cars are in town.
I love this!
Everything is just simply amazing! 👌🏻🤩👍🏻
The cars are really cool - but the conduit work really is a work of art! Amazing!
Beautiful!!!
That was an amazing place. Thanks to you both!!
I miss his driving videos on RUclips but Im glad for him. Finally stopped doing charity work and is now making some serious income doing something he clearly loves.
What kind of track car dors he have now?
Love the Smart car in lower level lol such a fun and quirky car. What an amazing place Matt has built!
Fascinating comprehensive tour of the absolutely superb complex.
Fantastic video! Love the setup and all the details in the facility. Awesome place!
Wow this is absolutely amazing 🤩🤩
Very much appreciate Matt's attention to detail.
I loved this video!
Reminds me of the Ghostbusters containment unit with all those electrical boxes on his walls
lol
"this is the wow shot"
immediately says "wow"
Congrats Matt!!
This is a proper tour!!
Thanks for showing off the tour ,this was awesome. Love it.
YESS! Every since Matt opened up, I’ve been waiting for you to go visit & make a video
Oh man that conduit work is sexy. I like how Matt obsesses over little details like how smooth the elevator is. He definitely doesn't half-ass anything.
The change in sound when he walks in the studio is crazy!! 😮
Unbelievable details and $$$$$$$$!
I almost skipped this one as I’ve seen multiple vids of the bldg. But you got into the details of the bldg which was awesome
Larry, Matt, Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Larry, thank you for taking us through this wonderful and well thought-out facility. Soooo many ideas for my own garage. Geek-out session: completed
Glad you enjoyed it :)
this is so cool! thanks for sharing!
I am beyond ecstatic to see this business is booming for matt.
Wonderful to see someone passionate about their work
Fantastic set-up. 😎
I love this dude. Feels like a regular old buddy you’ve grown up with
What a place. Thank you.
Well Done Matt and Thank You Larry.
I was hoping one of you would explain how many cars have to be moved to get to the cars at the back or the top
Never seen a car lift system like that. That’s amazing Matt.
It looks great until a big SoCal earthquake rolls through town.
I went to visit the site in 2019 - on holiday from Australia - unfortunately it wasn’t finished and no one was there, but it was still awesome to see the progress - congrats Matt
Simply a amazing facility Matt!
Really enjoyed this vid.
Amazing place and great video! Thank you very much!
That was dope
Forget the Porsches and Ferraris, I just want that sexy RS6 with the top box! 🔥🔥🔥
And I really enjoyed this video. You and Matt separately are great but it's always good to hear/see you guys interact as well.
What a sound guy & a fantastic place.
Pure passion right there 👌
Enjoyed seeing Matt Farah garage tour.
Wow! I didn’t even know he had this business. Super awesome.
what an awesome building, great job matt! looks very good.
Love that you guys been best buds forever
