Dashy had so many nutty SnD plays and clutches I’ve legitimately never witnessed anything like that the way he played Sunday in SnD might be one of the best performances by a single player ever in a tournament. For Marky B to say Ultra should’ve won the event is absolute insanity. Optic came out and proved they were better. I don’t care how great ultra played in the GF, they weren’t beating optic a second time. Optic is 4-1 vs ultra this year. Optic isn’t phased by them. Optic showed the world yesterday that they’re just as good as faze, if not better. Now they just need to show consistent greatness and win more than 1 event.

Faze biggest issues in the SnD was them constantly flanking double, even triple. Biggest example was the R11 vs Tor. They gave that whole front side to Ultra and gave them time to regain

OpTic fan here. Saying this tourny was an embarrassment to Faze is Crazy. They lost map 5 round 11 to Ultra and Map 5 to OpTic. Still would consider them the best team, I just don't think it's by a margin that Podcasts like the Reverse Sweep and the Flank like to proclaim. I'm just glad that OpTic finally put everything together on Sunday so that at least these guys have to put them in the conversation in the future.
21:23 NY this year reminds me alot of ghosts optic @ champs. If scump (hydra) goes beserk they can win respawns, they have immense prep for SnD and can technically beat the best teams, but so many dominoes need to fall correctly in their current form to have them actually pull off a win against the teams who are estimated to be better than them

Optic losing to Toronto might have been the best thing that happen to them. The momentum you get from a losers match and playing that 1 extra series helps soo much coz they played NYSL who are shaky at best and literally got the momentum they needed, they got that map 5 snd rep in and literally from that series Shottzy went on a legacy run and fried faze and Toronto.

This New York team reminds me of optic last season. Everyone had them in the top convo but they never could get to that top echelon.
Honestly think that Thieves should blow up their roster completely. Drop everyone except Ghosty and poach Gwinn, pick up Wrecks, and another cracked flex/AR. Feel like that team would benefit from a turret like Owakening that can deal damage and soak hill.
I feel like this entire season Faze has been feeding off the Drazah experience which when you're winning it's great because he's supremely confident and also a perfect heel. He is a lightning rod so none of the other guys really take any of the criticism and he relishes the villain role.
Faze obviously isn't going anywhere and they should be the betting favorite going forward but they have proven they can be shaken and the way they responded would definitely make me a little nervous if I was a fan

Since Cold War, faze have won 2 events only. And have been in like 8 finals. They struggle in finals and in big matches on LAN. Doesn’t matter the 3rd teammate, something about the trio struggles in big moments together
Cod is a day to day game, if play it you know sometimes you fry and other times you just aren’t. It’s dumb to expect them to win every single final just because they make it, when there are teams that don’t even sniff winners finals or loser finals. Cold War really fucked up everyone’s expectations for them because of the way they dominated. The other top 4 teams don’t have nearly the level of consistency to make finals like faze yet everyone is saying faze is the team with a mental block of coming through when it matters. If you use that logic, literally every team has that then, especially optic. Optic has had a t2 roster in terms of roster for at least the past 3 titles and has Jack shit to show for it yet you don’t hear anyone pushing the narrative they don’t clutch up when it matters. Same thing goes for ultra and nysl too, they get shit on consistently for a few stages then get hot for one and all of a sudden their struggles to even make finals is simply forgotten but faze make finals consistently and lose a few and it’s an issue. Weird double standard people have for faze.

They had one bad half a season in WW2 and split after only 2 champs together and winning one. When you’re that good you’re expected to win not make finals only. I swear it looks like optic was hiding strats and not playing the way they knew would get them the dub until they played faze and then used their real game plan to secure the chip. Like they knew they were better than the other teams and figured they would just do whatever and still end up in the finals and then once they got to faze they started really using their game plan and then in the finals played the way they’ve practiced to play
I could be wrong but at champs when surge had pred, Sib, Lamar, Mack they played faze and lost game 5 round 11 when simp had that crazy 2 piece. Then surge went and lost the next match against I don’t know

It’s so frustrating watching god damn Boston Vs. Minnesota online and other shitty matches and it looks like COD is dead and boring. Then we get LAN Sundays like this and get to enjoy the most exciting esport in the world. These top 4 matchups on LAN are a completely different game than when the bottom 8 teams play, respectfully.
NYSL are all really good, but watching POVs it seems like Skys isn’t in the gunfights w his teammates enough & tries to play like cell, then when he does get in the play he’s getting cooked. These guys out slay team & lose by 40 and feel like everyone is waiting for kismet to make a play and he gets baited alot.

I think we are undermining how close the optic vs faze matches were. Yes, it was still 6-0 but they were usually close maps and came down to Faze playing flawless, optic trolling some rounds, and Faze clutching up. It seems like Optic did this and now everyone is brushing that off. Faze is amazing, but Optic is not a league behind like people make it seem. It’ll be a great rest of the year going to Champs with multiple teams catching form💯

I don't think the trio from NYSL wanted to drop Priestah. I think it genuinely came from contract negotiations falling through, and I guarantee they could've been great if they kept the same roster. Priestah knows how to win, Sib is compromised, he only played well in one specific system with Lamar and Pred. He was never supposed to be on NYSL so he's got massive pressure on him.
