- As part of its mission to bring the arts to all communities throughout our region, The Exchange has hosted a monthly Blues/Americana/Roots Listening Room in our storefront art gallery on Main Street in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, since the summer of 2017.
The concert on April 24th, 2024, featured DUSTIN DOUGLAS & THE ELECTRIC GENTLEMEN, a little unplugged.
A Blues-Rock icon in this part of the world, DUSTIN DOUGLAS brings his guitarist/singer/songwriter chops AND his back-up band to The Exchange in a rare semi-acoustic set.
“All I’m trying to do is continue the tradition of The Stones, Zeppelin, and The Faces,” says Dustin. “Take the traditional Blues spirit, mix it with some heavy Rock ’n’ Roll, and play it for a new generation.
But it ain’t your poppa’s Blues,” he adds. “I listen to Rage Against the Machine as much as I listen to Muddy Waters. That blend of influences is what makes it unique.”
Fronted by the transcendent lead guitarist/singer/songwriter Dustin Douglas, The Electric Gentlemen - rounded out by drummer Tommy Smallcomb and bassist Matt "The Dane" Gabriel - command the stage with virtuosic musicianship and Classic-Rock spirit mixed with Punk Rock attitude that leaves even the most discerning music fans falling in love with their style at the end of any live show.
Sound and lighting for this concert by William Jay; roadie help by Roget Tapp; video camera by Robyn Madara Jay; introduction, still photos, and video editing by Exchange executive director Oren B. Helbok.

On the last Wednesday of almost every month, and occasionally on other days, beginning at 7 p.m., musicians perform in our intimate space in the Exchange Gallery at 24 East Main Street, up close and personal. We feature a range of acts - solo artists and small bands, acoustic and electric - in an atmosphere conducive to enjoying and experiencing the music: just a few dozen concertgoers, the musician(s), and the music.
We have uploaded dozens of videos of Listening Room and Coffeehouse Series concerts; find links here on RUclips and at ExchangeArts.org/listening-room and ExchangeArts.org/coffeehouse-series.
