Wow, I never realized how great Final Draft is -- my coauthor and I have just begun using it and we already love it. Can I ask a couple of questions? We've tested out the collaboration feature, and it seems to basically work but it also seems that when we're both joined through a collaboration session, we can't seem to use the Undo function -- the Undo button icon is grayed out or "ghosted" or whatever, and Control + Z for Windows and Command + Z for Mac doesn't work when we do something like create a new beat board and then try to undo the action. When I'm just on Final Draft alone before I invite my coauthor to collaborate, Control + Z on my Windows machine works fine. I've also noticed this problem with the Save feature, but your video here might address that in how it's saying that after a collaboration has ended, each user can save a copy to their own hard drive and only their own, because there's not cloud storage functionality. So I don't understand the Undo problem we're having while in collaboration mode, but the problem with the Save feature while in collaboration mode might make some sense to me (except for the fact that I'd like us to save as we go?) --- Anyway, thanks for fielding my questions here if possible!
Yes, you can collaborate with Final Draft 11, they just don't have the feature where you can both edit on the beat board and you don't have the ability to suggest changes on Final Draft 11 where you can track suggestions like a google doc and chose to accept or reject. But you can both edit the Script at the same time which should be all you need if you already have it outlined. You would probably just want to talk on the phone with your friend while you're writing. Hope that helps
Hi Soha, collaborators do need to be using the same version of Final Draft in order to use collaboration mode. Our tech support team will be happy to answer further questions! They are standing by M-F 8:30-5:30 PT: www.finaldraft.com/contact/contact-technical-support/
Can two writers work on the same script not in real time but like one person in the morning and one person at night without emailing the file back and forth (using the session)?
Hi there! You can host the script in a folder on a cloud-based storage system like iCloud and give yourselves both access to the script and work on it that way.
Feature suggestion: Option to enable a cloud mode on the document. It would create a session when you are working on it and if someone else starts to work on it then they can be prompted to join the session. If someone else edited it then you join their session to review the changes.
Hi Guys I wanted to ask you if I purchased the app on my Ipad will I be able to use the same purchase for my laptop ?? and I also have an apple macbook along with another windows laptop will I be able to use it on all devices at the same time or do I have to purchase it for every device ??
I'm looking to join a session but can't. Do the host and the person joining have to be at their computers at the same time in order for them to accept?

It truly sucks that collaboration can't work between different versions. I bought FD because the company excitedly told me to, then they upgraded to FD13 only one month later. You guys need better communication - look how many people are asking questions and zero staff have replied. It feels like FD takes our money, gives us the program, then disappears.
Actually that's not true. At least not for me. I contacted FD-Support over their webpage and they almost immedeately replied! They even offered a Zoom-call to fix the problem! So, contact support, not RUclips.

"How to have two or more writers work on a document at different times", would be a great tutorial!

This is exactly what I want, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way. I've shifted to Arc Studio Pro because of this.
In FD 11, where is the "tracking" toggle?
Does this only work on FD 12?
It really sucks how badly Final Draft communicates. They've been terrible so far. They want to sell to you but won't answer questions.
Can i use the iPad version to live collaborate with someone using final draft on their laptop?
Sadly I don't think so. They aren't integrated that well.
I've used this feature before but now I keep getting error messages. Where is the troubleshooting video?

I'll be writing on my rough draft this evening .
Sure you did

Final Draft 13 Outline Editor is noting more than AI. Are you sure you want to send human imagination to the bin?
