Loving the new update so far! Not sure if it was there before, but noticing I can scroll left and right in the beat board on a windows just by holding shift and using my mouse scroll wheel. Very nice!
The beat board is great, but we just discovered that if you load 10 or more megs on it , it crashes in collaboration mode. We were storyboarding on it, putting up all kinds of pictures, but it just isn’t built for that. Which was super annoying btw. Fingers crossed they increase the capacity of the collaboration session ASAP
I love the beat board, and have ever since it arrived ( I think in the 11th edition). However, I'm wondering if there is a way to write in the beat board without a card? I know I've sent it in as a suggestion before. I think that's the only thing that I know I'm missing. Because it would be nice to be able to write headlines or notes without a card, so it would be like a whiteboard basically. Thanks for an amazing software!
What I'd love to have is a text box in the "Character" section of the Navigator, so I could add a short biography to each characters. All I can do is add or change "Traits", but there's no room for text boxes to add more than a simple keyword. Yes, I can do that in the Beat Board itself - but I'd like to have the relevant info and analysis on a character all in one place. I would also like to use the Styles-box in the toolbar to edit the text boxes in the Beat Board - to underline, resize or format the text without using the keyboard shortcuts. Sadly, this only seems to work in the script itself.
Hi there, thanks for reaching out! We'll pass this information along to our product team ASAP. If there are other features you would like to see added, feel free to submit them here: www.finaldraft.com/final-draft-feedback/
When I copy/paste text from my word doc into the beat board, it's formatted in Italics and the margins are too narrow. Changing the alignment doesn't get rid of the narrow margins. And the card won't change color when I right click.
Hi Carey, thanks for your question! The Beat Board is currently only available on desktop, but we will forward your suggestion to our product development team!
Good info, but slow going. I recently bought version 12, but the tool bar in the video looks nothing like the tool bar in my program. Lots of rewinding to figure how to translate.
Hi Roger, that should do the trick! Go to File > Export > Beat Board to create a PDF file of the entire Beat Board. If you're not seeing this option, our tech support team will be happy to help! They are standing by M-F 8:30-5:30 PT: www.finaldraft.com/contact/contact-technical-support/

A year or two ago I sent feedback to final draft asking for the flow lines feature. I'm very pleased to see they added it into 12!!

The video fails to show how to begin the original structure of "Teaser", Act1, Act2, etc...and structure from there.
Great video. Clear, concise, and helpful. Thank you.

Does the beat board work with iPad? That would make so much sense.

Can somebody suggest an alternative please?

How to delete beat?
How do you print a beat board? FD's site says File -- Export. But there's no place to convert to pdf.

I mean, image insertion is great for writer-reference, but I didn't think having images in a script was acceptable, still.
Does anyone know how to delete a beat? That's the one thing I can't figure out how to do.
Select it. Press DEL (sometimes called SUPR)
@@JohanAdrian thank you!
Thanks 👍👍
It's killing me that balloon is misspelled
The very short loop of the same inane electronic music on tight repeat is mindnumbing and distracting.
I cannot export the beat board in PDF, it even appears that it is saving, but this does not happen and the PDF file is not generated, can you help me?
No, they can not help you.
HI I see it is so better and I try slowly to know it.
Shame on Final Draft for having commercials in the middle of their tutorials.
Take some pride, man.
What are beats - where does this word come from
it refers to how we writers have to beat our screenplays into submission until they're passable
спасибо
Ok
Why in the name of Jesus would anyone even think of adding a picture to a script?
