  • The Viltrox, 16mm, f1.8 lens, is possibly the best budget lens you can get for shooting real estate video. In this video I show you some examples I have shot and take through why I think this a fantastic lens to own.

Great video ! I just got the zve1 which I use with my 16-35 f4 and it’s fantastic. This 16mm lens sound really good 😊 are you filming in slog3 for interiors ? Love the results

Glad you are enjoying the ZV-E1 as much as I am.
Yes, I shoot in S-Log 3. I am going to make a video about my process of shooting and editing in S-Log soon. I avoided it for ages thinking it is was too tricky, but it’s really nothing to be scared of once you you understand it.
I always shoot with the gamma assist display turned on. That’s one of my biggest tips to help nail the exposure.
      Thanks for watching

I always wondered how this lens would do for interiors. With the ZVE-1 I presume you are shooting full frame and not crop mode in these examples. What is surprising is the IQ of the ZVE-1 for interiors! But this makes sense, as you can plan your shots at little better than in other genres, so you don't need 50mp to be able to crop in like in wildlife photography, or to get subject isolation out of fast-framed shots taken at fast-paced events such as weddings. Thanks for the review!

The ZV-E1 is basically a stripped back FX3, so the image quality is fantastic. The 12MP, full frame sensor makes it ideal for shooting interiors as it’s great in low light. Combine that with the f1.8 on the Viltrox 16mm lens, and you have a great combo for shooting property videos.
As you say, this is a full frame lens, so no need to shoot on crop mode. You can make full use of the sensor.
I use clear image zoom sometimes on the ZV-E1 with this lens if I want a tighter shot and there’s very little loss of image quality.
Thanks for watching and taking your time to comment.

How would this be for real estate pictures?

You would get great results using this for photography. The only reason I don’t use it for that is that I prefer to use a zoom lens when shooting my photos. So something like a 16-35 or 14-24 is idea I find.
If your happy with a prime lens and one focal length, this would be a great choice for the price.
