A very cool detail in the anime is that we could see Yamamoto’s lieutenant fighting with him against Yhwach, even as a brief moment as a flashback at 7:30.
The strongest sternreitters haven't even appeared :). This gets insane. They cut this, but in the manga Yamamoto thought they couldn't steal Ichigo's bankai because he had just recently acquired it so they didn't understand it yet. He thought that under that logic, his real bankai was safe.

A detail I love about this episode is when it starts raining after Yamamoto stops his bankai. Not only it's a logic thing to happen (all the water that evaporated is now coming back), but in case you didn't notice, rain always means despair in Bleach, as such, when it starts raining you just know things aren't gonna be alright. Also, SPOILER in case them don't explain it in the next episode: The Sternritter Y is actually 2 people, the twins Loyd and Royd. Them both have the ability to impersonate people but in a different way. Loyd (the one Kenpachi killed) copies the powers of the one he impersonate, while Royd (the on who fought Yamamoto) copies the memories and personality of the ones he impersonate.
Dope animation and really like that they capture the scenes nicely from the manga happily that everyone knowing that making this final arc really great
If I recall correctly, Sternritter 'Y' is a set of identical twins. One of them, Loyd, had the ability to replicate the physical appearance and spiritual pressure of another person, he was one of the three Sternritter Kenpachi killed. The other, Royd, has the ability to replicate the physical appearance, memories, and personality of another person.
You just saw how powerful Yama is.. the ONLY logical way to defeat him would be to outsmart him. Sure it’s lame that he faught a “fodder” enemy, but it makes sense for Yhwach to do what he did.
He wasn't a fodder at all. Bazz-B, As Nodt, Nanana and sternritter O go one shooted by base/shikai Yamamoto, while he put up a "little" fight against Bankai Yamamoto (Even though he couldn't do anything, he still was stronger then other 4).

@@codebreak1884 I’m not calling him fodder. That’s literally what home boy in the video called him. “Cannon fodder” My comment was in response to his criticism at the end of the video.
You can go back to episode 5 and see that Kenpachi beat another stern Ritter Y, named Loyd LLoyd. The other one who disguised as Yhwach here was Royd LLoyd, hence the “R”.
Ngl, this has to be the best animation studio pierrot has ever produced since the likes of naruto vs sasuke and naruto and sasuke vs momoshiki, the animation in this bleach episode was crazy, and its only episode 6.
There was cut content but it was explained in the Manga that the Loyd twins had the ability to copy other people. L of the Loyd twins "Loyd Loyd" can copy the power and appearance of others. He is the one that fought Kenpachi and died. R of the Loyd twins "Royd Loyd" can copy the personality and appearance of others. He turned into Yhwach with all his memories and fought Yamamoto.
The REAL thousand years blood war starts now 🔥 Btw, the "R" Stands for 'Royd Lloyd' which is the Stern ritter. also if you dont remember, there is another one that can copy abilities which kenpachi faced and defeated.
Yamamotos bankai is the most strongest zanpakuto of the soul society because of his special abilities. His bankai resembles a compass based on his the techniques of his bankai. His bankai is almost the same temperature as the sun itself but hotter. It is said that yamamotos bankai is to be a powerful zanpakuto because of how he first used his bankai against yhwach 1000 years ago. That was my theory as a Manga fan.
This was cut off from the anime so i will explain. Loid Loid and Roid Loid are two different persons, they are twins who were born with similar abilities. Loid, the one zaraki kills, can copy someone's appearance and strenght, and Roid, the one yhwach kills, can copy someone's appearance and memories. So Roid was already a pretty strong dude to be able to beat zaraki no diff and fight toe to toe with yama
there were 2 stenritters with "Y", both were twins - one took shape and abilities of their foe - and that one was killed by Kenpachi, his twins brother, had ability to take shape and memories of person they are imitating - that one was wounded by Yamamoto and finished by Yhwach

Y - The Yourself was _Royd Lloyd_ , the impostor guy who actually fought. Kenpachi also fought and killed the other Sternritter Y, Loyd Lloyd, Royd's brother. Royd was pretty damn strong actually and Yamamoto wasted a lot of power on him. He was mentally broke and raging. Yamamoto got weakened in mind already so he went all in and got Uno reversed in an instant. Great stuff!
The Y “Yourself” are twins Royd Lloyd (fought Kenpachi and Yamamoto) and Loyd Lloyd (killed by Kenpachi) alongside Bernice “The Question” and Jerome “The Roar”.
Btw one of the 3 sterriters that jump on Yamamoto is sterriter f, the one who annihilated byakuya. See the difference between head captain and a captain lol 😆
The "Y - Yourself" is the ability of Royd Lloyd and he copies ones appereance, personality and memories. That's the reason why Royd was so convincing and fooled Yamamoto, because he had the personality and memories of Yhwach. He is actually really strong, considering how he was able to stand against Yama's Bankai for so long. It was also his own Power that beat Zaraki. His Twin Loyd Lloyd was the one Kenpachi fought and died in Ep5
There were two Sternritter Y 'Yourself', they were originaly simblings. One was defeated by Kenpachi, other took impersonation of Ywach and part of his powers. But he didn't just took that, he also can take memories and the way of thinking/acting. So the way Y was acting in fight against Yamamoto is how the real Ywach would act if he was weaker and couldn't steal bankai. And as far as I remember Ywach is absorbing the power and knowledge of his dead quincies.
About Stern Ritter Y, basically there are 2 of them. The first one fought against Kenpachi (the one mimics Kenpachi) and died. The second is this one mimics the Quincy King.
Its been over 10 years waiting for these manga chapters to come to life..although ik what the end is like but seeing old man Yami use his bankai was like wow I long for this..especially few other bankai to come 😅
The twin who could mimic the appearance and strength was the one that Kenpachi killed The one Yamamoto was fighting could only replicate someone’s appearance and memories meaning that guy was just THAT strong to body Kenpachi with ease. Which should tell you exactly how much more powerful Yhwach is
the yourself is an ability that copies the memories and strength of the person. so basically yama was fighting yuha bakh. then i believe yama's bankai is one of those bankais who u can't use twice in a row cuz its either so exosting or it needs to be recharged. long story short nobody would face yamamoto on a fair 1 vs 1 cuz it's too risky and probably he would kick their asses. RIP yamamoto
The way Yamamoto pronounces Yhwach is one of the reasons it was harder to transliterate/translate at first. Japanese dislikes ending on consonants, so even if a character's name is, say, the Western name Judith, it'd be "Judithuh" or some other similar version.
it's not just about ending in consonants, other than "n" pretty much all their consonants are followed by a vowel all the time so they have a hard time pronouncing any words that lack a vowel after a consonant. even with the letter x for example they pronounce it something like "ecusu". if you look up japanese words borrowed from english you'll notice this much more: SUpun-SPoon, weBUSaito- weBSite, teSUto-teST, sanGUrasu-sunGLasses
Yeah. Yhwach is basically a really jacked spelling of the Tetragrammaton, JHVH. They pronounce Yhwach basically the way a Japanese person would pronounce JHVH, since the letter V becomes a B. Basically, what Bleach is trying to say, is that Yhwach is named after Jesus.
@@ASNS117Zero This is so hilariously a mix of correct and wrong. The Tetragrammaton is YHVH. Yud, hay, vuv, hay (Hebrew letters). It's what remains of the "real" name for God from the Jewish temple in Israel. Hebrew is a language of mostly consonants and the exact pronunciation is lost. Though he is based on Jesus in some aspects due to [SPOILERS], the Y as a J is a Romanization of the original consonant, which is a Y. Hebrew has no Js. The fact his name is derived from the Tetragrammaton is not an indication he is based on Jesus.
@@goldenthyme13 It depends on the religion and the translation in question. There are a LOT of Christians that use JHVH instead of YHWH or YHVH. Given that it's a translation, that is, Hebrew to Greek to English I believe is the most direct path most translations took, though Aramiac and Egyption may have been in there too at some point or another if I'm not mistaken. I'm not currently up to snuff about the language course the Christian bible took over the past 2000 years, but the point is, neither is really more correct than the other unless we're specifically talking about the version used in hebrew, which we're not, given that both of us are using English, and there's no real reason to immediately think about the hebrew version for almost all people thinking about it since Yhwach and the Quincy are obviously based on Christianity and not Judaism. (Anyone reading this conversation that isn't a manga reader, for the love of cake stop now) . . . I'm pretty confident given all the allegorical connections Yhwach makes to Jesus throughout TYBW, what with the whole son of god metaphor (Son of the Soul King), the worship of the quincy for him as their god, his story literally starting from him being a sacred child, the near CONSTANT use of crucifix imagery in the Quincy in general and on Yhwach himself, that he's at least an expy for Christ in the narrative. Not sure why Kubo didn't just go all the way and say Yhwach was Christ, he might as well have, guess he didn't have the stomach for it. It's not like Japan cares about that, but by the time TYBW was being written, Bleach *was* pretty big overseas, so maybe some author self-censorship was at play. Or maybe not, who knows? Might have been another thing like the number 69 and Kubo wanting to mess with the parents of the kids who read his manga.
@@ASNS117Zero Media mixes the Abrahamic religions into each other all thr time. We have no more proof that his name is based on a bastardized version of YHVH than we have proof that Kubo didn't just mix Judaism and Christianity. I couldn't care less what Christians use because it is not their term. It is YHVH, and JHVH is not something I've known anyone to use, outside of Jehovah Witnesses. Y is commonly Romanized as J (see Yakov --> Jacob). The term is YHVH.
Loyd Loyd takes on other people's powers. Royd Loyd takes on their memories and personality. Royd beat Kenpachi with his own power. They're twin brothers, both of them with a different variation of the same schrift.
To clear up the confusion with stern Ritter Y: Y was two people, identical twins, Loyd and Royd. Loyd could copy appearances and power while Royd could copy appearances and memories. I'm assuming the anime skipped this to animate the meeting with Aizen, since it's never shown in the manga
This will probably be explained next episode, maybe not, but there were two Sternritter "Y"s. Twins to be exact. They both can copy someone's appearance, but Lloyd, the one who fought Kenpachi, can copy someone's abilities while Royd, the one impersonating Yhwach, can copy someone's memories and personality.
The animation literally rivaled the the current trend animation studios like mappa, ufotable etc. Thank you studio periot for going all out!!! In fact bleach is doing cour breaks, meaning the future seasons going to be even more crazier!!!! Holy what a movie quality episode
I can imagine real Aizen siting on a sofa in the middle of battle eating chips and pulling those ' reverse bankai' on each other's . It s all part of Aizen plan .
Man Yamamoto is my favourite character and when Kubo did him dirty like that in the manga I was really pissed off, but to see it AGAIN in the anime hurts even more. But on the other side it is understandable because this is a war and what I like about Bleach is that the characters try to fight in a clever way not letting the opponents use there special abilities. But we learned one thing here, Yamamoto would have smoked Ywatch if he did not steal his bankai for sure, dude is literally a cheat code, you know that one character in a game who is SO FUCKING OP that the game is not even fun to play. Fellow Bleach fans Let your tears down Let your heart BURN Let your heart SCREAM But not in sadness but to honour him and let the world know the name of the one and unique YAMAMOTO GENRYUSAI
Lloyd Royd are twins, both being a Sternritter "Y". Kenpachi first fought the "L" (Lloyd) Sternritter "Y" and defeated him, but the "R" (Royd) Sternritter "Y" had been copying Ywach the entire time. Their ability is to become as strong as the person they copied (as is shown in Kenpachi's fight), but they have a limit (which is why he can't steal Yamamoto's Bankai or defeat Yamamoto).

That Bankai shot and smoke coming out ouf the blade was so cold
🥶🥶❄❄
A very cool detail in the anime is that we could see Yamamoto’s lieutenant fighting with him against Yhwach, even as a brief moment as a flashback at 7:30.
I have waited so many years for this. I never thought it'd happen. It did not disappoint, that animation was literally fire.
The strongest sternreitters haven't even appeared :). This gets insane.
They cut this, but in the manga Yamamoto thought they couldn't steal Ichigo's bankai because he had just recently acquired it so they didn't understand it yet. He thought that under that logic, his real bankai was safe.
The Balance has been in multiple scenes, and he's top 4.
@@theprogressivecynic2407 he means The Miracle i guess.. for me Strongest is The V and The M
@@RiLLentless V is actually objectively the strongest (even stronger then Yhwach before his awakening), but the user sucks ass, which balances him out heavily.

I like that you guys noted out that Unohana doesn’t seem affected by Zanka no Tachi. Well remember that and keep a lookout for her.
Yeah, and THAT training fight is coming up in a pretty short time.
@@theprogressivecynic2407 That's boutta be fire as well.
It's not that she wasn't affected by it, she's just one of the few characters who even knew what was happening. Most of the shinigami had never seen yamamotos bankai, they had no clue why all the moisture was instantly removed from the air.
As anime only this adaptation has been fantastic, it gets better after every episode
How do you know the adaptation is fantastic when you do not know the source matterial(the manga)?....
Yamamoto is the goat man, you telling me we waited ten years and were only 6 episodes away from craziness like this? Wow.
The quality of a good anime is to take something good in manga form and make it even better...Everything about Yamamoto's bankai in manga form was amazing, the anime made it legendary !! Well done studio, it was glorious animation !! At least we got to see it in action...
The crazy part is Aizen not only knew Yhwach's name but he also knew of the Wandenreich too... bro was really 3 steps ahead of everyone before he got in his own way
This is only a crumb of what's to come for Tybw, 7 more eps for this cour with 3 more cours to go😭😭plus... Ep 9 will slap way harder 👀.
What do you think Ep 9 will cover? Those "5 guys" perhaps?
@@matheusbecker2351 Kenpachi Vs Kenpachi. Best sword fight in Bleach honestly between two beasts. I feel like Yoshihiro Kanno and Satoshi Sakai will work on ep 9 together... Shit would be dope ngl.
@@philipcarey3213 oh shit that's so soon that's gonna be good
@@philipcarey3213 ain't no way it's so soon. It's gonna be insane
Respectfully hell yea lmao that fight is much better than Yama Vs Clone Yuha Baha. Yama's fight was more of a one sided flex rather than an actual fight but EPISODE 9 IS REAL FCKING COMBAT😭😭. Hopefully Kanno and Sakai pair up for that ep.
Also, SPOILER in case them don't explain it in the next episode:
The Sternritter Y is actually 2 people, the twins Loyd and Royd. Them both have the ability to impersonate people but in a different way. Loyd (the one Kenpachi killed) copies the powers of the one he impersonate, while Royd (the on who fought Yamamoto) copies the memories and personality of the ones he impersonate.
I’ve been saying this plenty of times, Pierrot is rly up there with Mappa and Ufotable, when given a proper amount of time
I don't know if you've noticed in the brief flashback when Yhwach was holding his arrow, you can see Chojiro standing in the back.
the imposter reacting surprised to what yama is doing, yet having the memories of seeing it, Kubo foreshadows different.
Yama’s bankai takes “just the tip” to a whole other level fr 👀😅😭😂🔥 lmao
You just saw how powerful Yama is.. the ONLY logical way to defeat him would be to outsmart him. Sure it’s lame that he faught a “fodder” enemy, but it makes sense for Yhwach to do what he did.
Royd is not fodder at all.Since I can only see 4 people beating him at this point
He wasn't a fodder at all.
Bazz-B, As Nodt, Nanana and sternritter O go one shooted by base/shikai Yamamoto, while he put up a "little" fight against Bankai Yamamoto (Even though he couldn't do anything, he still was stronger then other 4).
@@codebreak1884 People seem to think anyone who's beat is fodder...like you cant have a story if done that way. Dude could copy fight memory and 100s of years of experience...how is he fodder. He stood around in the flames...he's up there with those two that were willing to hold back yama back in soul society arc...he's powerful. Everyone looks weak around a demon.
@@nichescenes true
I mean, they also did some fight in Black Clover after that, like the Yami and Asta vs Dante
And it's not finish , you gonna learn so many things and see so many amazing fights !! they did a really good job for the animation.
*It feels so good to hear Aizen Sosuke voice, even not in the action yet. The lines i’ve been waiting from him is “Yokoso”*
Yamamoto is a whole other League
The REAL thousand years blood war starts now 🔥
Btw, the "R" Stands for 'Royd Lloyd' which is the Stern ritter. also if you dont remember, there is another one that can copy abilities which kenpachi faced and defeated.
Yamamoto really out here going “just the tip sweetheart I promise”
Thanks for reacting to my favorite anime you guys are awesome I got to cry for a second time rip old man head captain Yama
*Aizen after the quincy king asks him to join him **12:52**: "What the hell.. ain't no way bro"*
Looking back at the end of the series, this battle will seem almost tame in comparison.
No this is definitely up there In most intense
Might be, but it will never be forgotten.
Love you guys reactions . You guys strap in because the fights to come are even more insane🔥🔥
I was refreshing my feed over and over for you guy’s reaction! Finally!
there were 2 stenritters with "Y", both were twins - one took shape and abilities of their foe - and that one was killed by Kenpachi, his twins brother, had ability to take shape and memories of person they are imitating - that one was wounded by Yamamoto and finished by Yhwach
Bro I read the manga and was still left speechless by this amazing episode! Yamamoto is that guy!
The despair in this season so far is very real
Great review guys Kubo came prepared and the turn of events in this episode was just amazing.

Bleach is a masterpiece, ANIME OF THE YEARRRR
This animation is movie tier!! We all know yama was gonna get smoked but his send off was epic
You might want to remember that Kenpachi killed Sternritter Y Loyd Lloyd last week...
When you realize Zaraki got packed by a clone, damn
😂
It's a bit confusing with their names and powers, hopefully this clears up some misunderstandings
ITS A PRANK YAMAMOTO 🤣 FAREWELL YOU DID A GOOD JOB TO FIGHT THE FAKE. There's alot suprise in this anime a roller coaster ride
Yamamoto's bankai is definetely my favorite one
FYI: Yamamoto’s line of being enveloped by the sun was not an exaggeration 15 million degrees Celsius is around the heat of the sun’s core
Aizen actually said "I can't stand to see a Quincy king follow a soul reaper." , dude is insane lol.
Is aizen actually saying that he is gonna make yhawch follow him
"I can't stand to see a Quincy king following a soul reaper steps" as in *SPOILER*
YHWACH goal to become the new soul king
There were two Sternritter Y 'Yourself', they were originaly simblings. One was defeated by Kenpachi, other took impersonation of Ywach and part of his powers. But he didn't just took that, he also can take memories and the way of thinking/acting. So the way Y was acting in fight against Yamamoto is how the real Ywach would act if he was weaker and couldn't steal bankai.
And as far as I remember Ywach is absorbing the power and knowledge of his dead quincies.
You can only get Yamamoto by sealing his powers.
About Stern Ritter Y, basically there are 2 of them. The first one fought against Kenpachi (the one mimics Kenpachi) and died. The second is this one mimics the Quincy King.
Its been over 10 years waiting for these manga chapters to come to life..although ik what the end is like but seeing old man Yami use his bankai was like wow I long for this..especially few other bankai to come 😅
16:02 Loyd is Royd (Stern Ritter Y) twin brother that Kenpachi killed.
@espada9000 I'm confused kenpachi beat "you"/ y

@espada9000 I wasn't criticizing you I was lost about what happened but I understand now. My bad g
@@viciousvigilante4985 It's all good.
btw i think 15 million celsius is 27 million fahrenheit
The twin who could mimic the appearance and strength was the one that Kenpachi killed
The one Yamamoto was fighting could only replicate someone’s appearance and memories meaning that guy was just THAT strong to body Kenpachi with ease. Which should tell you exactly how much more powerful Yhwach is
The part my guy slipped up saying Sternritter "Y" and said "Stern Witter Why?" Was the highlight for me. It's is pretty tricky saying that fast tho.
the yourself is an ability that copies the memories and strength of the person. so basically yama was fighting yuha bakh. then i believe yama's bankai is one of those bankais who u can't use twice in a row cuz its either so exosting or it needs to be recharged. long story short nobody would face yamamoto on a fair 1 vs 1 cuz it's too risky and probably he would kick their asses. RIP yamamoto
The guy Yamamoto fought was Ryod his ability is called the Yourself he has a twin Lyod who Kenpachi killed last episode same ability
(Anyone reading this conversation that isn't a manga reader, for the love of cake stop now)
.
.
I'm assuming the anime skipped this to animate the meeting with Aizen, since it's never shown in the manga
the worst part isn't that yhwach has yama's bankai, but that he can now USE it. think about that for a moment.
"Aizen, come work for me."
"No."
Absolute Chad.
Ok so the anime cut out a few things, sternritter Y and R are twins one fought kenpachi that he killed and the other is who fought Yamamoto
Y’all’s Aizen Reaction was was priceless 😂
Yhwach really thought Aizen of all people would be willing to follow him? But worth a shot asking him lol. Aizen is his own boss.
Aizen is weaker than yhwatch tho which you will see soon , yhwatch is the strongest and can’t be beaten in a 1v1 so they gang up on him
@@tajaemartin2251 Spoilers:

You both do such an amazing job
This will probably be explained next episode, maybe not, but there were two Sternritter "Y"s. Twins to be exact. They both can copy someone's appearance, but Lloyd, the one who fought Kenpachi, can copy someone's abilities while Royd, the one impersonating Yhwach, can copy someone's memories and personality.
you dont stay the head captain for that long without having such insane power
