Aizen is such a boss. I love that Kubo kept him relevant and didn’t let the new big bad completely overshadow Aizen. Aizen is a whole other problem on his own. And as we just found out, he can use Kyoka Suigetsu without openly activating it.. He’s really fused with his Zanpakuto like he said he did before he got sealed. Freakin crazy.
It's fair to say that at this point Aizen was still stronger than Yhwach. The powerscaling got too crazy later on that even bigger hacks than KS were needed.
When Yhwach says the Gotei 13 died with them 1000 years ago he means the hardcore, savage, get the job done by any means or sacrifice attitude employed by the first generation is the true version of soul society's protectors. They were the ones worth fear and respect. He is implying that the years of peace, morals, and kindness made the Gotei 13 soft and weak and not worth worrying about
This episode was so damn hype. Idk what it is about Ichigo, but he plays the hero best like none other and it doesn’t even feel forced, it’s just how he is. ICHIGO IS HIM.
It's because most shounen characters only fight because "it's the right thing to do" not because they really want to save that person specifically. And that's fine, being a good person and all. But when you have an mc like Ichigo who genuinely knows the people he is protecting and considers them friends it makes for a much more powerful effect. Seeing an mc save a random person he never met is one thing but seeing Ichigo rush to the fight because he needs to save his friends and the people we the audience know and love is just another level.
We grow up knowing how Ichigo is, and the fact that it feels resonating how he feels and when put into his shoes we know a lot will feel the same. And the best thing about him is that even through hopeless situation he keeps moving forward, he keeps fighting.
Byakuya talking to Ichigo while his spiritual pressure was rising to the point where the rain was being turned in to stream with out even touching him gave me chills
The despair in Ichigo's face when his Zanpakuto was cut, actually saddened me. All he wanted was to protect his friends, and he failed. Had Aizen not disrupt Ywhach sense's, Ichigo probably would've died.

Man was this an emotional ride. This episode truly managed to make me cry a few times. Emotional masterpiece of an episode. Wow Chainsaw Man is 10/10, but Bleach is my favorite anime this season. And I honestly didn't expect that. It's just been incredible in both action and feels...

To compare CSM and Bleach is completely stupid considering CSM is at it's starting point while Bleach is in it's final arc. As OffDutyOfficial said, CSM has TONS going for it. The fact Bleach is a continuation of a long loved series definitely amps up the hype for it.
When Yhwach said the 13 Court Guard Squads died 1000 years ago with the first Quincies, he meant it metaphorically as Yamamoto would grow "weak" in his eyes. After the first Quincy Shinigami war, Yamamoto and the 13 squads would become dedicated to peace and justice which, in Yhwach's eyes, is weakness. Yamamoto in his younger years was a monster like Yhwach said, not in terms of power level but just how ruthless he was. It was the same for his first generation 13 squad captains from 1000 years ago, all of them were bloodthirsty killers of their era, not honorable captains like in modern times. Unohana, one of the original captains from that time period, will have her backstory explained in a few episodes and you'll see her true self.
The first big twist of several in that arc...Ichigo and his relation with the Quincy...I really love how they show the Blunt vene in anime form, it's way more interresting than the manga form ! Also that first Gotei 13 squad looks amazing !!

That moment between Ichigo and Byakuya was both wonderful and gut-wrenching because that’s pretty much the end of their relationship. Byakuya once saw Ichigo as a despicable invader, who spat on the traditions of the Soul Society. And now, he sees him as a fellow combatant and a friend. That is the reason why Byakuya has the best character development in all of Bleach, and will always be my favorite character.

if u remember in his fight with ichigo he transcended shinigami and fused with his zanpakuto. he IS kyoka suigetsu. all u have to do is look at his body for its abilities to be in effect
@@cappzap ALL shinigami are their zanpakuto's. When they first receive their swords, they're a blank slate with no name, personality or powers of its own. Over time, as they continue to pour their energy into the sword and train with it, they forge the sword's personality. That's why the sword can't just immediately reveal its name to them, because it technically doesn't have one yet.
Ichigo actually used blut vene in earlier episodes like when he fought kenpachi and “got revived” or when he fought renji the first time and when he was about to lose his wounds closed up and he felt no pain from them
Naruto fans won't kidding, the person that did the storyboarding for this episode, is known for the most legendary moments in naruto and his name is toshiyuki tsuru, thank you for this peak episode of bleach, it was also his first time working on bleach for those who don't know🙌
In case you are not aware, the original Gotei 13 did not appear in the manga. That scene at the beginning was very cool. I am editing my reaction right now. Bleach episodes keep getting better and better. I am hoping to see more new information and scenes similar to the original Gotei 13. Hopefully some more insane battles that did not happen in the manga.
I won't be surprised if bleach wins best score/music in the anime awards, shiro sagisu is going hard with these OSTs, and its definitely on par and can rival the likes of hiroyuki sawano and yuki kajiura
As much as I'm enjoying the other anime in the fall, Bleach TYBW is in a different league at the moment the 10 year wait was worth it, the animation quality, the story, music, directing/pacing and voice acting are all god tier

5:20 he didn't meant that the original 13 captains died LITERALLY with the Quincies a 1000 years ago, obviously yamamoto was still alive until now. He just gave a whole speach about how during the war the 13 captains were a bunch of savage killers BUT when they won the war they became soft, peace loving and they had more things to protect now aka the savage nature of the captains "died" with the Quincies in Juha Bach (Yhwach) eyes. Just like he said about yama that a 1000 years ago in yama's eyes everyone was just like ash to him but now he refuses to let a human to heal his arm. So he meant that their savage killing nature and strength died that day, just like a soldier who already gave up on the war before it even began in a sense he already died(but is still alive). Or when u see something funny and while you're laughing you say "I'm dead" but you're still alive right? (At least i hope so). Nice video tho🙌🏾🔥
This was a monumental moment in the manga reading this 8 years ago, ive seemed to have forgotten the majority of it so watching the show is even more enjoyable this show never seems to disappoint with story telling. Amazing. This show is so fire. If only every old anime could be re-animated in new tech. Bleach is goat. The show will only continue to get epic
This might be long, but it will give you more context/clarification without spoilers. So to give some clarifications, what we saw at the beginning was the original/first 13 captains, as mentioned they were ALL blood thirsty killers posed as good guys (picture current Zaraki Kenpachi but dialed somewhere between 11-20 out of 10 when it comes battle junkies/killers) . But over the years the head captain took a more peaceful approach and 13 captains and role of soul society became more about honor, justice, duty, etc (also the original 4 familes including yoruichi ancestor is part of the original 13 captains, along with ichigo dad's bloodline, and byakuya ~ last two are speculated). Anyways when he says the original 13 captains died with the Quincy 1000 years ago, he means their strength and ability to do anything (implies they arnt rutheless/blood thirsty enough/strong to do anything about it). He currently see the 13 as bunch of weaklings/cosplayers, and only a few ppl a threat aka the special weapons. Back to original 13, kubo dropped a color picture of them last week i'll attach a twitter link in the replies but if it doesnt work you can ask someone in discord to link it, it made the rounds for all the manga ppl. Also there's a potential for a sequel arc, but you won't see it in anime form anytime soon. Kubo dropped like a 50 page one-shot last year pretty much setting up a premise of a sequel story lines x-years past this current arc (leaving the number out to not be spoilery). Essentially it will involve Hell (like the movie). The reason why Hell is significant that when captains "die" they cant be put back into the cycle of soul society then go to earth and vice versa. They have to much spiritual pressure they will break the balance that they protect. So captains get sent to Hell when they die, and since the potential (un-written arc) involves Hell, ppl are speculating we will see the original captains at the minimum. if kubo decides to expand on the one-shot, which he might.

Back in one of the earlier episodes, probably episode 5, right before that Stern Ritter sealed away Ichigo, Kiske was saying something alluding to his(Ichigo's) bloodline/powers but he got cut off when the Stern Ritter got back up and attacked them from behind. They're have been hints to this secret since the new season started.
5:22 it was a metaphorical saying, Yhawch said that the Gotei 13 “died” with the Quinces a thousand years ago in the way that they had just gotten weaker after the Quincy Extermination war, the original captains who founded the 13 squads were said to be the strongest gen of the Gotei 13 because at the time, they were made up of the most vicious, bloodthirsty and psychotic criminals soul society had ever known and they were so violent that they managed to annihilate the previous army of Yhwach easy, but after the war, the captains basically mellowed out and became less vicious as they were replaced with less violent replacements, that while a good thing, started weakening the organization as the standards of the captains began leaning towards peacekeeping rather than fighters….. In Yhawch’s perspective, this was the “death” of the gotei 13 as they slowly got “weaker” being tied down by morals, kindness and peacetime that begun to slowly drain their “strength” as the strongest group of soul reapers…..
basically the old gotei 13 was 100% comprised of kenpachis. BUT. The first kenpachi, was the most brutal(I mean to be a kenpachi in THAT era you HAVE to). Not going to spoil anything. But get excited.
If you think about it, most kings think of their subjects as their children which the line "my son" comes in place and "born in the dark" meaning Ichigo not knowing his own background
I remember that in chapter 296 of the anime when Aizen was telling ichigo that it was all part of his plan, he mentions that he is human and... That's when ichigo's father arrives and interrupts him, so with this chapter we confirm that Aizen was going to tell him that he was a Quincy or part Quincy because because of his father he is shinigami and he became half vizard/arrancar/holow/vastolorde so Let's see what else is missing. (The aforementioned does not count as a spoiler because I have not said anything that has not already been seen).
What yhawch meant by saying “they died with us” is that the old 13 captains were stronger and that this current group is nothing even close so when he says they died with us he meant that the soul reapers got soft since they last fought so in his eyes they died
Something that a commenter pointed out is that when Ichigo disappeared after arriving. It was because he didn't use a flash step/shunpo like a Shinigami but it was a Sonido!!! Something only the Hollows use!!!
So when Yhwach says to Yamamoto that the 13 Court Guard died with them 1000 years ago, I think it's more in a metaphorical sense rather than literal. Kinda like, the old ruthless Gotei 13 I knew died a long time ago and the one that remains (Yama included) is a lot different and kinder than the previous one was.
When Yhwach said that the Gotei 13 died alongside the Quincys 1000 years ago, he was basically referring to how soft Yamamoto is, and how his old, bloodthirsty and savage ways died after he killed off the Quincy and how he became a shell of his former self. I hope we get more screen time of the OG Gotei 13, their zanpakuto designs were insane!
Remember when Aizen and Ichigo first started fighting in the fake town, and Aizen was interrupted by Isshin when he started to say "because you are the son of a shinigami and..."? You can take a pretty good guess at what he was about to say there. Also, no Yhwach doesn't want Ichigo dead. If you were him and were able to choose between killing Ichigo and getting him on your side, which would you pick? He's a walking nuke, who just casually killed a Sternritter in this episode. Not to mention that Ichigo just got more than twice as hard to injure from last episode to this episode--he's now protected by both Heirro and Blut, to the point that he can tank the sword that cut Yamamoto in half with a single strike.
Yhwach is the father of all Quincies. "My son... Born in the dark" was just saying Ichigo was kept in the dark about his quincy blood. I can't wait till yall see Jugram(blonde guy) fight he is scary strong.

What Yuwach meant by "The 13 squads died with us a 1000 years ago" is the new 13 squad took on a different upbringing than the ruthless nature of the old squad. So their barbaric ways have significantly toned down and changed therefore the traditional way of the sword died after the war 1000 years ago.
So many emotions in this episode I don't know how I feel the only feelings I can express in this episode is shocked awe and just terrifying fear because these quincies I don't even think they showed us what they can truly do just yet
They died with us is a metaphor for how yamamoto changed his way. There were no more reasons to fight so he got lax etc and focused on other things like the future of young shinigami etc
Might be an unpopular opinion but I love that Yamamoto was killed like this instead of a fair fight, because it shows this story is no longer a shonen "fight with honor","power of frienship" bullsh*t, it's war.
It's such a different experience for those who have read the manga and know what's new and extended scenes in this anime. The entire intro was new and amazing. The part where Ichigo gets out of the jail and attacks that Quincy was from a secondary source material iirc. The beginning of the fight with Yhwach and Ichigo was new. It's so crazy to get all this new stuff.
As a reader of the Manga, i was amazed since now of the quality of the animation. This episode was so good and believe me it's just the beginning and so many dope battle gonna happen and with this animation...OMG this arc gonna be the best one. You know...go back and watch the Hueco Muncdo invasion arc and the way Ishida kept saying "you need to fear the Quincy" after seeing how they get down, it hits differently. Also for fun notice everytime Gin Ichimaru was on the screen, and how he was trying to undermine Aizen from the beginning

Kubo foreshadowed Ichigo being a Quincy in the very first episode of Bleach, theres a scene where Ichigo is laying on his bed and his bed sheets have a giant Quincy cross on them, also remember when Rukia was trying to give Ichigo her powers at the start of Bleach but Ichigo "took" all of them...well Quincies can absorb Reishi....Aizen knew Ichigo was half Quincy that's why he told Ichigo before Isshin interrupted him"You're half human and half-", theres much much more little foreshadow moments through tout Bleach but some havent been revealed yet so I wont say them

well bro usally fans service in animes is all about add the scenes the fans want even when it's not in the original story but in bleach things don't work this way kubo is adding those things because he rushed events in the manga because of his sickness and the things didn't go the way he planned so he promised to fixed this in anime version so they are not adding something (out side the original story or should i say outside the story kubo planned in the first place).. so i wouldn't call it fan service if i were you bro .

@@Pant10 Part of the reason Bleach has as much hype as it does because it's a continuation of a series that hasn't been touched in almost 10 years. To compare CSM and Bleach is completely stupid considering CSM is at it's starting point while Bleach is in it's final arc. As OffDutyOfficial said, CSM has TONS going for it. The fact Bleach is a continuation of a long loved series definitely amps up the hype for it.
When Yhwach said the 13 Court Guard Squads died 1000 years ago with the first Quincies, he meant it metaphorically as Yamamoto would grow "weak" in his eyes. After the first Quincy Shinigami war, Yamamoto and the 13 squads would become dedicated to peace and justice which, in Yhwach's eyes, is weakness. Yamamoto in his younger years was a monster like Yhwach said, not in terms of power level but just how ruthless he was. It was the same for his first generation 13 squad captains from 1000 years ago, all of them were bloodthirsty killers of their era, not honorable captains like in modern times. Unohana, one of the original captains from that time period, will have her backstory explained in a few episodes and you'll see her true self.
Byakuya's voice actor did an amazing job with his scene.
The first big twist of several in that arc...Ichigo and his relation with the Quincy...I really love how they show the Blunt vene in anime form, it's way more interresting than the manga form ! Also that first Gotei 13 squad looks amazing !!

That moment between Ichigo and Byakuya was both wonderful and gut-wrenching because that’s pretty much the end of their relationship. Byakuya once saw Ichigo as a despicable invader, who spat on the traditions of the Soul Society. And now, he sees him as a fellow combatant and a friend. That is the reason why Byakuya has the best character development in all of Bleach, and will always be my favorite character.

They all have a significant impact in the second part of the arc especially since Byakuya is a key player in fighting Gerard Valkyrie

He is only partially sealed. A few of the seals were released in a secondary source material
if u remember in his fight with ichigo he transcended shinigami and fused with his zanpakuto. he IS kyoka suigetsu. all u have to do is look at his body for its abilities to be in effect
@@cappzap ALL shinigami are their zanpakuto's. When they first receive their swords, they're a blank slate with no name, personality or powers of its own. Over time, as they continue to pour their energy into the sword and train with it, they forge the sword's personality. That's why the sword can't just immediately reveal its name to them, because it technically doesn't have one yet.

Ichigo actually used blut vene in earlier episodes like when he fought kenpachi and “got revived” or when he fought renji the first time and when he was about to lose his wounds closed up and he felt no pain from them

In case you are not aware, the original Gotei 13 did not appear in the manga. That scene at the beginning was very cool. I am editing my reaction right now. Bleach episodes keep getting better and better. I am hoping to see more new information and scenes similar to the original Gotei 13. Hopefully some more insane battles that did not happen in the manga.
There were multiple scenes that didn't happen in the manga in this episode alone and plenty in the previous episode as well.
I won't be surprised if bleach wins best score/music in the anime awards, shiro sagisu is going hard with these OSTs, and its definitely on par and can rival the likes of hiroyuki sawano and yuki kajiura

As much as I'm enjoying the other anime in the fall, Bleach TYBW is in a different league at the moment the 10 year wait was worth it, the animation quality, the story, music, directing/pacing and voice acting are all god tier

5:20 he didn't meant that the original 13 captains died LITERALLY with the Quincies a 1000 years ago, obviously yamamoto was still alive until now. He just gave a whole speach about how during the war the 13 captains were a bunch of savage killers BUT when they won the war they became soft, peace loving and they had more things to protect now aka the savage nature of the captains "died" with the Quincies in Juha Bach (Yhwach) eyes. Just like he said about yama that a 1000 years ago in yama's eyes everyone was just like ash to him but now he refuses to let a human to heal his arm. So he meant that their savage killing nature and strength died that day, just like a soldier who already gave up on the war before it even began in a sense he already died(but is still alive). Or when u see something funny and while you're laughing you say "I'm dead" but you're still alive right? (At least i hope so). Nice video tho🙌🏾🔥

This was a monumental moment in the manga reading this 8 years ago, ive seemed to have forgotten the majority of it so watching the show is even more enjoyable this show never seems to disappoint with story telling. Amazing. This show is so fire. If only every old anime could be re-animated in new tech. Bleach is goat. The show will only continue to get epic

This might be long, but it will give you more context/clarification without spoilers.
So to give some clarifications, what we saw at the beginning was the original/first 13 captains, as mentioned they were ALL blood thirsty killers posed as good guys (picture current Zaraki Kenpachi but dialed somewhere between 11-20 out of 10 when it comes battle junkies/killers) . But over the years the head captain took a more peaceful approach and 13 captains and role of soul society became more about honor, justice, duty, etc (also the original 4 familes including yoruichi ancestor is part of the original 13 captains, along with ichigo dad's bloodline, and byakuya ~ last two are speculated).
Anyways when he says the original 13 captains died with the Quincy 1000 years ago, he means their strength and ability to do anything (implies they arnt rutheless/blood thirsty enough/strong to do anything about it). He currently see the 13 as bunch of weaklings/cosplayers, and only a few ppl a threat aka the special weapons.
Back to original 13, kubo dropped a color picture of them last week i'll attach a twitter link in the replies but if it doesnt work you can ask someone in discord to link it, it made the rounds for all the manga ppl. Also there's a potential for a sequel arc, but you won't see it in anime form anytime soon. Kubo dropped like a 50 page one-shot last year pretty much setting up a premise of a sequel story lines x-years past this current arc (leaving the number out to not be spoilery). Essentially it will involve Hell (like the movie). The reason why Hell is significant that when captains "die" they cant be put back into the cycle of soul society then go to earth and vice versa. They have to much spiritual pressure they will break the balance that they protect. So captains get sent to Hell when they die, and since the potential (un-written arc) involves Hell, ppl are speculating we will see the original captains at the minimum. if kubo decides to expand on the one-shot, which he might.
Watching all the reactions for this episode is stressing me out bigtime. Totally worth it

It's not literal "the thirteen court gaurd squads died with us 1000yrs ago" he just means the current 13 are nothing compared to the originals because if they were they wouldn't be in the situation they are in
Also "My son born in the dark" means Ichigo is a quincy born without any other quincy knowing he was born
Back in one of the earlier episodes, probably episode 5, right before that Stern Ritter sealed away Ichigo, Kiske was saying something alluding to his(Ichigo's) bloodline/powers but he got cut off when the Stern Ritter got back up and attacked them from behind. They're have been hints to this secret since the new season started.

5:22 it was a metaphorical saying, Yhawch said that the Gotei 13 “died” with the Quinces a thousand years ago in the way that they had just gotten weaker after the Quincy Extermination war, the original captains who founded the 13 squads were said to be the strongest gen of the Gotei 13 because at the time, they were made up of the most vicious, bloodthirsty and psychotic criminals soul society had ever known and they were so violent that they managed to annihilate the previous army of Yhwach easy, but after the war, the captains basically mellowed out and became less vicious as they were replaced with less violent replacements, that while a good thing, started weakening the organization as the standards of the captains began leaning towards peacekeeping rather than fighters….. In Yhawch’s perspective, this was the “death” of the gotei 13 as they slowly got “weaker” being tied down by morals, kindness and peacetime that begun to slowly drain their “strength” as the strongest group of soul reapers…..

basically the old gotei 13 was 100% comprised of kenpachis. BUT. The first kenpachi, was the most brutal(I mean to be a kenpachi in THAT era you HAVE to). Not going to spoil anything. But get excited.

The OG Gotei 13 was just brutal massacering the Quincies. And the Quincies returned the favour in this episode really came full circle.

If you think about it, most kings think of their subjects as their children which the line "my son" comes in place and "born in the dark" meaning Ichigo not knowing his own background
I remember that in chapter 296 of the anime when Aizen was telling ichigo that it was all part of his plan, he mentions that he is human and...
That's when ichigo's father arrives and interrupts him, so with this chapter we confirm that Aizen was going to tell him that he was a Quincy or part Quincy because because of his father he is shinigami and he became half vizard/arrancar/holow/vastolorde so Let's see what else is missing. (The aforementioned does not count as a spoiler because I have not said anything that has not already been seen).
Yuhabach calls all the quincies his sons.
What yhawch meant by saying “they died with us” is that the old 13 captains were stronger and that this current group is nothing even close so when he says they died with us he meant that the soul reapers got soft since they last fought so in his eyes they died
Something that a commenter pointed out is that when Ichigo disappeared after arriving. It was because he didn't use a flash step/shunpo like a Shinigami but it was a Sonido!!! Something only the Hollows use!!!
So when Yhwach says to Yamamoto that the 13 Court Guard died with them 1000 years ago, I think it's more in a metaphorical sense rather than literal. Kinda like, the old ruthless Gotei 13 I knew died a long time ago and the one that remains (Yama included) is a lot different and kinder than the previous one was.
When Yhwach said that the Gotei 13 died alongside the Quincys 1000 years ago, he was basically referring to how soft Yamamoto is, and how his old, bloodthirsty and savage ways died after he killed off the Quincy and how he became a shell of his former self. I hope we get more screen time of the OG Gotei 13, their zanpakuto designs were insane!
Remember when Aizen and Ichigo first started fighting in the fake town, and Aizen was interrupted by Isshin when he started to say "because you are the son of a shinigami and..."? You can take a pretty good guess at what he was about to say there.
Also, no Yhwach doesn't want Ichigo dead. If you were him and were able to choose between killing Ichigo and getting him on your side, which would you pick? He's a walking nuke, who just casually killed a Sternritter in this episode. Not to mention that Ichigo just got more than twice as hard to injure from last episode to this episode--he's now protected by both Heirro and Blut, to the point that he can tank the sword that cut Yamamoto in half with a single strike.
At the end is symbolism with the candle going out, the flame being extinguished.
Yhwach is the father of all Quincies. "My son... Born in the dark" was just saying Ichigo was kept in the dark about his quincy blood. I can't wait till yall see Jugram(blonde guy) fight he is scary strong.

What Yuwach meant by "The 13 squads died with us a 1000 years ago" is the new 13 squad took on a different upbringing than the ruthless nature of the old squad. So their barbaric ways have significantly toned down and changed therefore the traditional way of the sword died after the war 1000 years ago.
So many emotions in this episode I don't know how I feel the only feelings I can express in this episode is shocked awe and just terrifying fear because these quincies I don't even think they showed us what they can truly do just yet

Might be an unpopular opinion but I love that Yamamoto was killed like this instead of a fair fight, because it shows this story is no longer a shonen "fight with honor","power of frienship" bullsh*t, it's war.
It's such a different experience for those who have read the manga and know what's new and extended scenes in this anime. The entire intro was new and amazing. The part where Ichigo gets out of the jail and attacks that Quincy was from a secondary source material iirc. The beginning of the fight with Yhwach and Ichigo was new. It's so crazy to get all this new stuff.

As a reader of the Manga, i was amazed since now of the quality of the animation. This episode was so good and believe me it's just the beginning and so many dope battle gonna happen and with this animation...OMG this arc gonna be the best one. Huhu. When I was in highschool, everyone was asking me why I watch bleach. They all were watching one piece and Naruto. Now, Im glad more people are liking bleach too. Im so glad, Im crying.
You know...go back and watch the Hueco Muncdo invasion arc and the way Ishida kept saying "you need to fear the Quincy" after seeing how they get down, it hits differently. Also for fun notice everytime Gin Ichimaru was on the screen, and how he was trying to undermine Aizen from the beginning
