    Just for added context on Nvidia's support limitation for older cards: Nvidia dropped support overall for cards older than the 900 series a couple years ago. So when you look at it, Reflex is supported on ALL cards that still get driver support from Nvidia.
    Which makes AMD's strict limitation to only 7000 series cards even stranger. Surely it can't be a hardware issue if 10 year old nvidia cards have no problem handling something like this, right?

    i’m a little confused with your point. From what I understand, Anti-Lag + is a driver level implementation. Drivers are owned by the hardware. For anti-cheat to deem it as a hack, it means anti-cheat is overextending into a realm of authority it doesn’t necessarily own. While its ok to try to prevent hacks that use this method, it’s more likely Anti-Cheat developers fault for causing this issue. If it were a dll-hook it would be a different story. You ask how did AMD not catch this by working with developers?, thats a question of convenience that is stupid when you think of the logistics. Thats like saying whenever they make new features they have to test them with every PC game ever which doesn’t scale. Not as easy as you made it sound.

    • @rarespetrusamartean5433
      @rarespetrusamartean5433 7 месяцев назад +7

      it's not a driver level implementation. He mentioned in the video that executable code is injected into the game engines. That's not driver level.

    • @AosZ
      @AosZ 7 месяцев назад +7

      @@rarespetrusamartean5433 look up Anti Lag+ its a driver implementation. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. DLL injection requires knowing memory locations. You couldn’t make an implementation that works with everything and at the same time hook your code with a boot loader. Also, that requires a different level of privilege on the system.

    • @AosZ
      @AosZ 7 месяцев назад +4

      @@osku388 i just looked it up. It totally doesn't say that. Detouring dll functions doesn't mean dll hooking/injections. Instead it means some function of the driver allowed it to bypass some processing of CS2's dll. Again, driver behavior belongs to the Hardware manufacturer. It's within their realm of authority. You can't write software that hooks onto any binary without knowing things about the binary. Binaries also change from build to build. Drivers reside behind the hardware abstraction layer and are transparent to software applications. In the case of games, there are direct integrations that bypass the HAL for hardware acceleration. That doesn't change the fact that driver development is owned by the hardware manufacturer.

    • @AosZ
      @AosZ 7 месяцев назад +3

      @@osku388 that rationale is poor man. As a hardware vendor you have to be able to make drivers for your product. Its always good to coordinate with other partners, but your logic is flawed. What you are effectively saying is that if you made a product, a random company that only has to do with a fraction of your business dictates a core aspect of your product development. Remember GPU's fulfill other functions for consumers such as video editing, transcoding, bitcoin mining and other general purpose use ontop of games. Drivers allow for the system to communicate with your hardware product. Thats why you see drivers being created by AMD and Nvidia. Not by game makers. Your perspective is narrow-minded Valve arbitrarily decided to use a particular behavior to detect cheating. If a graphics driver decides to NOP an operation or detour API calls its within their domain.

    • @AosZ
      @AosZ 7 месяцев назад +5

      @@osku388 Also making the statement that they need authority over drivers or they are useless is far from a reasonable statement. There are many ways to detect cheats. Thats like saying the Police need to have jurisdiction over your home without a warrant or they are effectively useless.

    I have to agree that the AMD Software is very much disappointing. Less than a year ago I switched from my old 980 Ti to 7900XTX and I have been repeatedly annoyed and/or disappointed with the software since. In the months since I have made the switch I have only been hearing about or directly experiencing major flaws in the applications from AMD.
