Hi Amelia I am in Australia and purchased a remnant of the fabric you bought for your sons, and made t shits for my grandsons. I was a lovely fabricate sew with and washed beautifully. Liik forward to your creations.
Oh how lovely! I hope they loved their t-shirts. It is so good to hear the quality is so good - it certainly feels lovely and I am looking forward to sewing with it.
How lovely to hear someone else talk about Spotlight. They always seem to have a sale but various discounts. I hope you get a great result with you fabrics. ❤
Happy New Year, Amelia! Nice to have a chatty video with you today! I am so glad you spent all that lovely time with your fam in NZ. I think NZ seems like a pretty special place! I just love your Friday Pattern skirt set! That's a real winner. And I love that you made those shorts and dresses for all the children. What a wonderful idea!
Thank you so much Diane and Happy New Year to you too! It was such a special Christmas with my family, we had a lovely time! It was so special to see all the grandchildren in their matching shorts and dresses too.
It’s great to have you back, you were missed but everyone needs a break. Christmas in the sun must be so much fun, glad you had a wonderful time with your family. x
Thank you! I haven't sewn with Liberty corduroy before but it is an absolute dream. I think I am going to have to find some more as it is so soft and beautiful to wear too. 😊
I think it would nice to make the wrap top from a medium color chambray fabric to wear over swim wear, your new cord shirt and any bottom piece. Happy New Year to you and your family. I’ve missed you and have been watching for you🥰
That is such a great idea! I love the idea of the Saturday Skirt set top in a chambray - thanks for the suggestion Nathalie! Thank you for watching too - it is great to be back sharing with you all. 😊
Hi glad you had a nice rest Love watching sew a long as u always make sewing look easy N your life bits are great As most of us fit sewing in between life Thru watching you I now look outside the main 4 pattern companies so more of that please Thankz Caroline
Thank you! I will try to do a few more sew alongs this year. I will share some different pattern companies too as I always enjoy discovering new pattern designers! Thanks for watching, Caroline.
@@sewamelia thank you Really missed you over holidays but glad you with family So I have watched old shows Thankz I am a granma but only now again to do I knit for granddaughter Using sew me something patterns at moment But going to buy a printer as semi house bound then do pdf patterns Take care
Great catch up! I was back home in Australia for Xmas and paid a few visits to Spotlight to take advantage of the sale. There were so many brilliant options that was hard to narrow down. I wasn't as restrained as you; I bought three fabrics when I was there. I could easily have done even more damage though - Spotlight is killing it at the moment!
Welcome back!😁 I would check every Saturday morning to see if you had posted anything yet. You are one of my favorite sewing vloggers. You are an inspiration! Glad to hear about the Little Lizard King shorts pattern. I have 3 grandsons that I might have to get that pattern for. So wonderful that you were able to spend Christmas with your family and enjoy some time of relaxing. Again, welcome back! Looking forward to seeing what beautiful garments you sew up in 2023.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, and for watching today! I hope you had a lovely Christmas too. The Little Lizard King shorts turned out so, so well. I hope you enjoy making them too!
Loved listening to your podcast as always. I am normally not a big fan of that type of skirt but your version of that Burda skirt is absolutely gorgeous 😍😍😍 and the matching buttons are going to look really lovely on it ! I am definitely keeping Brindille & Twig in my head now as love patterns that are well explained and really want to sew more for the little one 🥰 looking forward to your 2023 sewing plans now :)! I am definitely trying to get out of my comfort zone this year although it's not a huge one as only been sewing for a year 😅
Thank you so much! I am not usually a mini skirt fan, but I have really enjoyed making and wearing this one so far! I hope you enjoy sewing for your little one. I always find it so fun to sew for my children!
that RTW gingham dress is lovely and i agree with you--those bell sleeves would drive me absolutely batty! i made the myosotis with the bell sleeves but those don't bother me b/c they are 3/4 length so they don't get in the way.
I'm glad it isn't just me driven mad by floaty sleeve cuffs! 😂 I do love the shorter length bell sleeves on the Myosotis - I need to think carefully about which sleeves I will choose to attach to the dress - I really love the TATB Marnie sleeves so thinking I might hack those onto the Myosotis.
I'm looking forward to your video on lining the skirt. That is something I haven't done yet. I am currently working on some twirly knit t-shirt dresses for two of my granddaughters. Happy new year!
Thank you Tammy! I am enjoying sharing about lining the skirt in my makes video soon. I bet your grand daughters will love twirling in their new dresses - so special!
I found elastic waists/waistbands to be so helpful! I could make the clothes and then adjust the elastic to fit once I saw the children in person. I hope your grandchildren enjoy their matching clothes!
Hi Jan! Yes, the top does seem to sit in a really nice place on my and works well with the skirt. I think I do have a short torso though! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Lovely to see you! Glad you had a great Christmas with your family. Red definitely suits you. I love your patina/davenport hack that fabric is beautiful 💗
Glad you had a lovely Christmas, it was great to see the sunshine! Can’t wait for your Make 9 for this year. I love all your makes, especially the skirt set, I didn’t realise it didn’t have to have a bare midriff. A set is so versatile with other separates. I watched the sewalong for it and it did look straightforward.
Thank you so much Mary. I am looking forward to sharing my sewing plans for 2023. I'm feeling quite excited about this year's plans! I hope you had a lovely Christmas too. ❤️
Hi lovely to hear from you again so nice to hear you enjoyed a warm break in N/Z - I haven’t made any sewing plans yet as still recovering from my 3 grown up children and their families all staying with us over the Christmas break ! Really inspired to get going on some sewing plans now especially now after watching you today - so off now to make a list ! - there is a question I’d like to ask and that is I noticed the labels you sew in to your garments and thought you might tell me where you got them from - thanks for a lovely up beat inspiring video today best wishes from Jenny - ( from a very cold and windy Norfolk uk)
Thank you for the video, I always enjoy seeing what you have made. 1 question I would like to ask, have you ever made dresses with a princess seam in the hips (butux ). I am really puzzled by it.
Thank you Theresa, I am so glad you enjoyed the video! I don't think I have ever made something with princess seams over the lower half - the closest I have come to that is the Camden pinafore, but the princess seams on the bodice don't extend to the skirt.
Question. Where can I find a kid pattern for simple casual pull on pants for woven fabric. I want to make some simple play clothes for my kids size 12 and 16 children’s size (American sizes )
Hi! I am not sure exactly as I haven't sewn older children/teens patterns yet. But I think Style Arc have a few great patterns for children and teenagers.
Better red for 😃 sure. Nice size check.
Nice to have you back! Happy you were able to get together with your family for the holidays.
Thank you for watching Lynn. It was a very special family holiday.
Hi Amelia; nice to see you back again, glad you had a lovely break with your family: looking forward to what you will bring us this year ❤x
Thank you so much Lorraine! I am so looking forward to sharing my sewing journey with you all this year.
Hey, great to see you!!!
Your daughter's dress is adorable. Love the fabric. Blue Dot Patterns No-Zip skirt might be a great option for you as well.😉
Thank you, Noemi! I will have a look at that pattern. 😊
Lovely to see you again Amelia! How special to have Christmas in New Zealand with your family - all your makes are beautiful, as always.
Thank you so much Sarah, it was very special to be back home for a summery Kiwi Christmas!

Ohooo - loving the corduroy fabric. The fabric in your daughter’s dress looks like a Liberty Tana Lawn Print I made a dress from. Love it!

Thank you Claudia. It was such a treat to have a family Christmas at home in New Zealand. I do always enjoy making and wearing skirts!
I’ve got both the shorts patterns on your recommendation from another of your videos. I’m about to make the mendoza shorts on chambray..
