[A Library Battle Simulation]
Library of Ruina is a game that uses the concept of a “Library Battle Simulation”.
You will invite guests to the Library and engage in combat with them to gain 'Books' with their stories.
Battles are played with the 'Librarians' and the 'Guests' using cards and dice.
You can plan against the guests’ moves by looking at the cards they will use and select the most optimal card to oppose them.
When combat begins, how the dice from your chosen card fall will determine victory or defeat in the struggle.
However, the outcome of the dice is not simply determined by pure luck.
Certain effects and variables will shift the outcome of the dice for and against your favor.
Be sure to carefully choose which cards you utilize to win the battle with your guests.
Behold the outcome of your choices and how luck unfolds as your librarians and guests skirmish.
You can go through an exhilarating experience, putting it all on the line with thrills just like betting.
[Conflicts that Build Emotion]
Confrontation in the Library is not just about killing your enemies, it is about heightening emotions.
The emotions of the librarians and guests rise as the battle progresses, and as it grows fiercer and comes to a head, they will surge.
Depending on your librarian's feelings, positive outcomes or powerful effects with penalties can occur.
In addition, as the emotional tension of the guests grows, the difficulty of combat increases, yet at the same time, rarer books can be acquired.
Furthermore, dialogue can appear depending on the situation of the battle and will make one’s viewing experience of the match unfolding even more enjoyable.
[Books Can Be Anything]
A guest who dies in the Library will turn into a book.
These books can be a librarian's body, materials to grow the Library, or new cards for battle.
You can also use books as the parts of an invitation to bring forth another guest.
Invite different guests to acquire various books, then utilize them accordingly.
How you make use of your collection to grow the Library is up to you.
Obviously I'm still not playing as efficiently or optimally as many would like
Come tell me about it in the Discord
I'll totally listen, probably, maybe: discord.gg/yG3bqx6xAm
Playing plenty well enough foreman, I can almost guarantee that everyone who is going on about playing more effectively is also someone who played without most of the thinking.
The fact that you’re grinding off cam and practicing means you’re doing better than 99% of people that played for the first time.

In this episode, we find out that the Rats were, in fact, heroes that prevented a Thousand Needle massacre when they harvested that one dude's guts.
If only they had gained supernatural powers from it. Then Pete could make his dream of becoming a Gang-star real....wait a minute, that sounds familiar.

Rhinos who will destroy LobCorp if they are hired, Reindeers will give irreparable damage to the manager's mind, thus the Rabbits are the one who are in charge of being deployed in L Corp's facility and Nest
I don't think Myo says this during Lobcorp.

Dawn Office is where the game really starts expecting you to read passives and build your tactics around them. Most people see Salvador's speed dice and Crack of Dawn and decide to focus fire him before either of his subordinates, but then you read Philip's passives and you realise that you need to burst him down ASAP before he starts gaining emotion, and you can't leave Yuna for last either. So counterintuitively, you're actually better off leaving Salvador for last.
and it would allow you to get more Salvador books
But then you spam Combat Preparation and kill all three without ever really interacting with their gimmicks and this somhow works for the next tier too.
@@anothenblue2630 oh combat preparation spam... it can pretty much be super good at any stage of the game so long as you have the right set up
@@scruffles3838 and then they give you Hod with literally all the block support she needs + free 2 power on anything (which on its own gives E-Endure 5-6 Power and that's a Canard page with like 4 as max roll) as her first abno. God, LoR balancing can be such a mess.

Do you remember what combination of events it takes to make an abnormality? First of all, a catalyst, such as cogito. Second of all, a stressed mind that is vulnerable to the Well. Not just any normal amount of stress, anything less resulted in someone dissolving. It takes an incredibly large amount of stress. Now consider exactly what Lobotomy Corporation did to create the White Nights and Dark Days, imagine what kind of catalyst Light would be.
Third is wine
Abnormality page color:
Green and Red represent their draw condition
-Green abno. page are drawn if you won more clashes and gained more positive emotion
-Red abno. page are drawn if you're experiencing a life in the backstreet
If you want to purposefully draw red abno. pages, a lot more calculations are needed to be done (by losing clashes or having allies killed)
Some of the most broken Abno pages are red cardo^^
All abnos actually have their own requirements too. Obsession requires A LOT of negative coins while Look of the Day needs only some. It can be frustrating with some of them.
@@anothenblue2630wait so i'm just playing trash? cus i get obsession everytime 😭
@ yes. Or you're somehow minroling way too much, but winning even half of clashes would negate that.
After talking about fixer grades from the art book last time, I thought it might be fun to continue with the dawn office. In addition I'll add a few more character details. So... enjoy!
Phillip: 24 years old, likes listening to music, is quick on the uptake and of course is a grade 5 fixer.
Yuna: 34 years old, likes mahjong, has good grip strength, and is a grade 4 fixer.
Salvador: 54 years old, likes knitting during small breaks, has great discernment, and is a grade 3 fixer.
Welcome to Hod's Literature Club! It's a nice place to hang around in!
To make it even better, there are four slots for librarians and four DDLC characters. You can actually make it work and I made head sprites for them.
Some general deckbuilding advice for if you want it, don't mind me!
1) You've got a good grasp of balancing the costs in your deck, which is very good. It's all about balance. Lots of 2+ cost cards? Balance it with plenty of 0 cost light regen. Lots of
Oh, I forgor to mention stuff.
Keeping in Stride (Zwei Sec.6 Fixer passive) is one of the best in the game, as it's some of the only health regen you can get access to for passives.
And, the dice rolls on most card draw/light regen cards doesnt really matter, as theyre usually quite low, so you want to one-sided with them rather than take clashes with them, especially ones like Loosen Up and Rules of the Backstreets, which only provide their effects on-hit, which means if they lose the clash, you dont get any regen or draw.
Interesting Interaction you might want to consider: Brawl can be used on Liwei's Page in order to keep ranged pages from exhausting.
Just be mindful that it is still Melee, however it can be used in order to use those big single dice attacks from Full Stop Office which are still great even without the ranged benefit.
Honestly, even after completing the Game and going through it a second time, I never bothered with Brawl.
Brawl builds are wierd.
@@plinfan6541 you rarely want only dice from a page, On Use effects tend to be far more important. Brawl is also just way too random to work with it unless you have very few cards, at which point you're in trouble.
Guess my break only lasted a single video, time to post the flavour texts again!

"Your head will soon be filled with happiness."
Happy:
"Just a little taste of heaven won’t hurt, right?"
"I pity those fools who don’t know this happiness~"
"Once you’ve had a taste of this sweetness, you can’t quit."
"Sure, I’ll bend down for you~ Feel free to pet me."

Evasion/defensive builds have one of the most satisfying effectiveness inclines I've seen in a game. The more you get that works, the more you're gonna want one on every team, specifically because encounters can get *very* mean, but a well-built evasion/defense character can get even meaner.
If you REALLY don't want to lose a fight, you can Alt+F4 just before loss screen and reset to the moment just before the reception. A bit cheesy, but might be useful later on.
single-copy regenerating book like distortion, such a pain...
I do have to say, most of the dawn office cards are really good, and that paralysis can be pretty useful, as a reduction of dice power can be useful in some fights like the dawn office cards and some solo anomalies fights early game.
I dunno about you guys but the Gaze office has DRIP
(Dalloc in particular, LOVE the jacket)
Also you were cracked out when you fought spiderbud, but you can unlock it pretty early. I did, and without the speed die and other benefits of a cracked out squad, spider bud absolutely destroyed people on their first couple encounters. The main abno's attack does a 100% guaranteed stagger. If you don't have the DPS to match and you don't go out of your way to make sure that one of your squad *doesn't* kill any of the four spiders, it can wipe your squad.
Philip Joestar and his secret family technique.
Ah, the dawn office. that one actually took me 2 tries, that's the real start of the difficulty spike. Their cards are also just really nice, and it starts one of my favorite storylines. Also really dont get too attatched to certain nugget page setups, you'll be swapping them almost every fight.
Also, _take pulsation, be baller._ Actually underated page though, that unconditional power is really nice. At least until it kills you. One if my favorites, i never regret taking it unless it's like, the start of the fight.
I either never get it or it's a multi-act fight and almost everyone loses 25% just because there's only one enemy left and they are one good hit away from death. I hate the latter the most, why does it still proc?
imo the start of the difficulty spike is love town and even that is pretty easy
more of a focus on defence for Yesod...heh
That IS funny.
To be fair, that's how I ran Yesod for a while though that's less on Yesod working well with it and more on Combat Preparation being Fair and Balanced.

One thing, you can hover your cursors over the enemy simbol on the emotion gauge at the top to see what books you will get if you end the fight there.
Thanks for allowing the patron librarians appearances to change!
Ah interesting thing.
The left hand side of all enemy die is the ones that go first.
As long as they have the most speed.
It doesn't really matter If a librarian has the same speed as them.
The opponent goes first.
And this can lead to some interesting, or bad situations later on.
Laughing powder and dalloc! Laughing powder is great, its a 60%+ stagger resist increase for all allies at minimum, and consistent to get at boot.
I gave netzach dalloc's appearance fora a while so he would be comfy.
You're gonna love Philip.
The time these release are realy keeping me on my toes huh? Keep having to take a double take when I see a new episode pop up so soon. This is good

You showed some good progress this video Foreman. Using this time to experiment is fantastic especially since you're still in tutorial mode - after all, we're only on the upper layer (or bottom, in this case). It's the best time for such practice, before any particular challenges that I am sure you are expecting the game to throw at you, and that are definitely-not-bosses. Before you know it, the infamous PM "vertical difficulty" meme will begin, along with a few new mechanics that'll make the ole noggin work overtime. Have fun! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Spoilers, please remove the boss part
Yay, Philip, my beloved! 😊
Very good
Whoop whoop I made it in thank you foreman
Ah yes Dawn Office and our beloved Philip
Yuna passive that always used as Solo play on every floor and every reception is the most favorite when it's come to Yolo play (1 librarian v many guests) use it with Carnival passive "Rememberance" if you want to play sacrifice in preparing Solo battle strat with Yuna passive and here you go, free 5 strenght for the rest of act 😂
And that Hanafuda deck is great with Olga discard play deck just pick the card that have effect when got discard and spam play Great Decision
1:04:20 why "Laughing Powder" is red? Because it's is required to get your librarian a hit for the effect kicks in, it's is will green (on our mind) if you receive stagger damage less than 4 but it's still gonna red when enemy does a big hit (it's like slightly stalling time for you to get staggered)
The best one is when you receive 0 stagger dmg, you still got recovery stagger effect
Yeah, actually it's only on perception for player to think it's red or green abno card for "Laughing Powder"
Run boy run
Hello, Urban Plague Abnormalities!
*Porccubus*
Thorns is...okay? You're more likely to have it as an option than not due to how abnormality pages work, so it's a good idea to have a librarian specialising in Pierce on Netzach's Floor.
Elation isn't good. You'll only get access to it while you're losing, and -50% stagger resist is antisynergistic to Netzach's Floor. +1 Power is nice, but it's not as good on a Floor that doesn't really specialise in power stacking.
Laughing Powder though...like Thorns, you're almost guaranteed to have it as an option on your first two emotion levels, and it is easily the best level one page on Netzach's Floor. Effectively increasing the Stagger resist of *all* librarians is incredibly good, and it's arguably the centerpiece of Netzach's strategy.
*Spider Bud*
Cocoon gives a very good trio of debuffs and it's hilariously good with 2-range dice that makes it a 50-50 chance to inflict the debuffs.
Meal gives Hod's Floor some much needed sustain, and it has a very high chance of appearing once you hit emotion level 2. It's not the best healing page, but with no downside, it's quite nice.
Alertness is a great second option after Meal. It's effectively +1 Power, and you have a chance to inflict some pretty nasty debuffs as well. Great for Power-stacking Hod strats.
Elation is just a worse version of that Teardrop, which at least hurts enemies on death (and your librarians, but you have sustain, your enemies don't). Now, Elation is Tier 1 while Teardrop is Tier 2, but it's still way worse, you never want the former while you might still consider the latter.
Both are still super random on Art.
Thorns just synergizes well with Netzach as his is the Pierce floor. And the faster you stagger an enemy, the less damage you take and the more damage they take.
@@archmagemc3561 the problem with Thorns is that it takes three pierce attacks to trigger, but more importantly, Laughing Powder and Tentacle are on same tier. There's no reason to ever pick Thorns over Tentacle and Laughing Powder is too good for sustain to trade it for a single ally effect.
bro was so mad at the bremen musicians ☠
*sees Philip* Oooohhhh Lord..... Oh good Lord.... Welp, my favourite guest is here now. Never skips leg day.
Yeah red abnormality pages can also not have negative effects but require you to do things like take damage for the effect to appear, but you usually don't want to dmg yourself right?
I'd like to take the time to say that I hope that my comments haven't come across as backseaty. I've noticed you seem to be getting annoyed that people are telling you how to play, and I feel like maybe my comments are contributing to that a bit. For the record, I just wanted to talk about LoR, but didn't want to spoil anything, so I settled on explaining game mechanics and how they work as my middle ground. Your honestly doing way better than most do when they get this far, and you seem to be getting the hang of most of the major mechanics by now too. There are many ways to play "Optimally" in LoR, and I've noticed you've struck a good balance.
Good luck on the rest of Urban Plague!

Wait, you can change clashes?!
...the next time I try to play this game fairly, I'm going to do so much better than I did before. Had no idea about how General Invitations worked, Clash changing...
Given life-death scenario, its strange that there are not that much people attempted to escape even for those screamed not wanting to die at their last moment (See Lulu, San, Philip able to escape through conventional fashion seemly)
Side note, uh I don't think technology would work exactly if it doesn't make sense. Sure, the outsider don't necessarily need to understand the mechanism and the design behind a specific technology but the mechanism behind it has to make sense to be designed and for it to function the way it is.
There is a trick for Malkuth floor: Happy Memories. Since it discount ALL the copies of the current most expensive card in your hand, it serve as a way to circumvent the need of light recovery essentially.
The Library only lets people escape if their escape leads to further growing and benefitting the Library.
Singularities are tech that doesnt make sense. They use them, but the understanding of how they function and the mechanics behind their operation is, for the most part, lost. We are in a sort of technological dark age, not unlike the Imperium of Man in 40k.
@@xXTheKingEmothXx My problem with the "the escape problem" is:
1) Noone even attempted to establish that is literally the case despite life or death situation you would think more people would tried to run to comment how The Library being inescapable or some shit.
Library of Ruina spoilers :-
2) People change their mind like all the time. Even if The Library or more precisely, a particular someone is that omniscient to be able to predict event to such an extent, how is everything not being manipulated towards it's favor? (True End)
PS: why is that particular someone ended up doing the exact opposite of it's original goal.
@@xXTheKingEmothXx My interpretation that Singularity are being called the way they are is that they are the technology that become literal cultural singularity for The cityfolk, that they almost becoming an item of worship, given how people flock for The Wings, not "technology makes no sense". Even if it makes no sense, it's only to the user not the technology and the mechanism/logic itself. Hell even E.G.O has a throughline and mechanism behind it how it works in LC. (Which only partially carried through LoR)
Efficiency of The Wings practice and the technology on the other hand, they are a whole another problem of its own given that they are under apparent energy crisis established in Lobotomy Corp.
@@loading0901 Unfortunately that interpretation is broken by some things we know about. Angela is a Singularity, but no one worships it. Cogito is a Singularity, but no one knows the process that power is created in Lobcorp. We have had Singularities defined multiple times by various characters as technology that surpasses understanding. We also see no evidence of them being 'worshipped'.
@@xXTheKingEmothXx To refute your statement that Angela apparently being a 'Singularity' don't you think it is rather odd that when she was asked of Lobotomy Corp's singularity, she clearly gave a different answer for that.
When I mention 'worship' obviously I don't mean it in a literal sense but technologies has been highly valued in The City, so much that the old human value has been abandoned.
And as far as I know, the game has been very vague why Singularities are being named that way, which means it is up to interpretations. Now I have a question, where is your reference to support your theory.
