The newly published Nurburgring Nordschleife 24H track for Assetto Corsa Competizione is deservedly turning many heads in the sim racing community, but a modded Assetto Corsa is equally deserving of praise. In this video I am comparing the two side-by-side.

Honestly, ACC adds a few more details in the background but the original AC is doing great, especially for a game 10 years older. I even prefer the sound on original AC.
The sound is modded though, not a fair comparison, but it does sound great indeed!

@@Emir_de_Passy It is just a question of who wrote the code. For mods, the community probably had more time (although it is likely ACC development started shortly after AC release as well)but the community had to adapt to the modding framework put in place by AC devs which is a pretty big constraint. I definitely wouldn't say that the modded result is less of a feat because "it's modded".
I am impressed that you were able to string together two nearly identical laps in two different games.
Haha I was just thinking about this, it's not like he can just load the demo into the other game right? Perhaps it is a recording of an AI at equal difficulty? That would produces very similar times in both games I presume

Drive simultaneously, one wheel, two sims
This video really sums up how crazy obsessed the modders are, and how much better work modders can produce than the actual companies, like literally original AC is almost 11 years old, but looks like and feels like it got just recently released.
Not to mention the amazing modded rain graphics in AC, which are hands down the best looking rain particles in any racing game, they look soo good and realistic, something that no other actual company seems to be able to pull of yet.

same but ACC’s Nordschleife is just too good. They made it feel true to life. I just can’t wait for AC Evo, and hopefully they can just use this version of Nords on the new game.
I think AC is just brilliant thanks to modders. If you had used Pure sunblinding it would have even matched that part of Acc as well
nords in acc looks amazing. from track details, to lighting like the god rays pouring through the trees, to the vegetation... modded ac certainly looks impressive for a 10 year old game, but still lacks a bit of details around the tracks. i can also spot some really low-res mountain textures in the bg

AC with mods is hard to beat. Biggest difference is the FFB and car handling is better than ACC.
Acc has made a big step forward, did not play it for a long time because i found the ffb a bit flat. But know i am surprised how good it feld

ACC looks like early spring or autumn, judging by the washed out colors. AC looks more natural and alive. Maybe is not gaining in sound, but AC is beautiful hands down
I play this a ton on ACC and AC with mods, and my ACC just doesn’t look like what’s shown here. It seems like they have turned down saturation quite a bit. Probably to make AC look better in comparison. The lighting almost looks like it’s overcast but you can see shadows so I’m not sure why theirs looks so gray.

Ah okay i was very curious about this, looks like a touched up AC Scan is being used, some new kerbs in some places, but mostly the same bumps and dips. Great video thanks Mike
It’s a complete rescan. The reason they look so similar is because it’s the same place you doofus
@@potatoglizzy3212 i highly doubt that, its said iRacing spent 300k+ USD to scan everything at the ring, especially if Kunos already had the AC one, at most i could see them re-scanning some of the newley resurfaced areas, but id be shocked if they got a team out and re-did the whole Nords

I did the same first thing, the AC version is surprisingly good! I honestly thought the difference would be bigger (it still is quite a bit better), but that isn't a knock for ACC, it's just that modded AC is so freaking unbelievably good to begin with

Both look stunning and an absolute blast to race! I don't know which is more "realistic", but I actually prefer the mod version's sounds slightly better than the ACC version. Can't wait for it to arrive on console. God bless and race on 🏁
Ok more mods to download, and yes I did buy Sebring for rFactor 2 last night and yes it was a great track to race on.
I've driven over 700 hours in AC and only 30 in ACC.
I think that says it all for my perspective.
To each their own, I am 600 in AC but 2700 in ACC.

I tried Nordschleife first on GT Sport after watching Guy Martin use a PS3 to practice for his attempt at the fastest van on the track.
Did it once and never again.
Have played a bit more sim racing since then and now I can at least appreciate the Nordschleife even if I'm still not great at it.
Have tried it on AC/Project Cars 1, Project Cars 2/GT7.
The more I drive it the more familiar I get with it and the more I enjoy it.
ACC the greenery looks like it's been painted, AC looks & sounds more natural.
Lots of details are missing in the sound in AC, there is 0 body noise. You can ACC to a better color palette using the in-game settings as well, it looks pretty saturated in Mike's settings. But obviously, with shader patch there is so much mroe you can do to adjust the colors to the exact eye candy that you fancy most.
This is why I thought on the 1st that it wasn't out yet and that you'd faked the whole ACC Nordschleife thing using AC and a custom dashboard for Simhub :D
Awesome video comparison, Mr SimRacing604. The thing that struck me the most - if you take away the fact that ACC's version would naturally look a bit better. Is just how little graffiti is in the ACC version. I have always associated graffiti with the Nordshcleife, but I have to assume that the ACC version is laser-scanned, so maybe it just doesn't have as much graffiti these days???
The tarmac was in the middle of a do-over in 2023 when Kunos went over and just finished recently, there might be even less graffiti now.
ACC is the obvious winner but AC still holds it's own and is overall just a better sim for most people. Can't wait for AC2!
ACC Nords is for sure great, and I love racing it. Though AC (with these mods) looks more like how I perceive driving the track in reality.
AC it's beautiful, they will have to work to make the EVO better
to be completely honest. It looks so similar. The lighting in ACC is better but i've seen reshades that gives ACC a run for its money. So im more impressed with AC(Mod) on how close they can get to a much more updated game like ACC

@potatoglizzy3212 just seen website links and other videos. The website reporting that it was an ACE landing page in the QR codes said there was only one QR code to see at the Schumacher S section, but they are all over the track.

In AC, the direction of the shadow is sometimes wrong. Opposite

ACC version has flattened Flugplatz and Schwedenkreuz like the real track after being rebuilt last year, which is the biggest difference.

I love both of the it think the ac version has a bit more immersion and for me i think the colors and shadows are so much better as the acc one
Ill take ACC Green Hell and the AC mods sounds ok great
just wish that Assetto Corsa modders could look into modding new crowds and fill up the stands.. it sucks driving an epic F1 race with no one in the stands.. takes away the realism for me..

I bought the DLC, fired up ACC for the first time in years. Now I have a 4090 the VR experience is somewhat better, but the AA still looks like trash compared to AC.
The ACC version is probably the definitive Nord imo, looks great. But after a couple of hours dialling in my wheel, motion & haptics, ACC still falls way short on the driving for me.
I jumped in a URD Darche in AC and put them back to back & AC is still miles better in force feedback and drivability. Far less time spent on the ABS, much more detail in the wheel.
Love ACC's multiplayer and matchmaking by comparison, you can get a decent race there much easier for sure. But for driving, AC is still king to me, with rFactor being very close.

i love AC but i kind off prefer the way ffb feels on ACC on gt3 cars the road cars are awesome on AC though

The classic ac is just better even the warmth is better. Much more of that resl life warmth vibe to it.
Love the small detaill on AC with the vibration on the car inside frame.
To me, I think both games do a great job of graphically showing this track. Same with the sounds of the games. Each game does something a little different with the graphics and sounds while driving around the track. AC 1 shows us more shadows and ACC seems to show more sunlight glare. There are a few more details along the track in ACC, but who cares when we are racing at top speeds AC 1 with all the mods has done a great job to compete with the newer ACC game

It kind of all boils down to car handling to me. You have to actually drive around this track to see which game you like the best for car physics. This video can't show us that, you have to actually feel how the car drives in each game.
I wonder how Assectto Corsa EVO is going to even be as good as these two games. I don't give a hoot that is if they do a career mode as thir big selling point in EVO, they don't interest me at all. Just give the car, the track, and go do some racing. This career stuff in games are a waste of time for me.

With CSP + Pure Assetto is more beautifull than Competizione (i use to play those 2 games) yes it needs one ssd for Assetto mods but the results are amazing for eyes.
i hope AC Evo will be greater to become the best simu game

People who claim that ac1 looks better clearly havent played both sims at high quality settings as video on youtube at 1080p masks a lot of detail, yes ac1 still looks decent and presentable with current mods in 2024 but the model quality is significantly worse than in acc. I also find the car pneumatic transmission sound a bit too common, if you listen to onboard footages it never works at every downshift.
It really does though. Maybe not in this specific video but in general with people who know how to adjust their filters and get everything running right AC is the most beautiful car game I've ever seen. I own all the sim games and every console. GT7 and AC have the best graphics of them all. This video yea ACC looks a bit better though for sure.
Can run acc on max settings on 65inch triples and it looks like dog shit ac looks much better, you notice everything on screens that size
I love both sims but ACC’s vr is actually dog shit and when modded right AC does look better on a monitor. If I could port ACCs nords into AC I’d be a very happy manchild
One drives more like a video game and the other one drives more like a sim. Everyone knows what I'm talking about. The car is so detached, it's not even funny
ACC's version is great, but there's way too little graffiti compared to the original version in AC. I wish they kept the original road texture

@@kleanish I'm aware of that, but it's going to get covered in graffiti again in no-time, so keeping the original graffiti decals would've been better in my opinion
I play both in vr. And is sad but ac with mods looks much better and performs MUCH beter than acc...

Modded AC honestly looks better and that’s not a knock on ACC, that’s just years of refinement by the modders! I still prefer the ACC sound though.
I agree. But if you want a better sounding AC, just install ViPER4Windows with these settings: Surround: Largest Room; ViPer XBass: 15.10dB; ViPER XClarity: X-HiFi (this one is optional). You will be amazed with the difference it makes. I now also prefer AC sound to ACC thanks to this.
The issue is that the ACC one os shot around noon or early afternoon, while the AC's is shot in the golden hour before sunset.
Everything shot in the golden hours always looks better than something at or around noon, as the sheer ammount of light around noon will make things look washed out, unless you really know what to do.

@@fups1 Ok overlooked that, I based my asessment mainly on the light colour and the shadows.
As in the ACC shot the light is at a very low angle with the slightly golde-redfish hue of the beginning (or end, if it's morning) of the Golden hour.
however there are a few more variables, like the day, season of year.
If those aren't the same or within a few days of each other the light will vary, sometimes widely vary widely depending on the season and month.
If the lower is 8AM, it looks like later winter to very early spring snd the upper more like high summer.
Sorry hobbyist photographer speaking, and if both are the same day (month year, season), time and westher, one of the is seriously doing it wrong.
@@LupusAries Yeah, you're totally right actually. Especially since AC lets you set the date and the sunset/sunrise time changes, whereas in ACC the date is always static and each track has its own sunrise/sunset time. Most of these racing game comparison videos have the same issue and it's difficult to get a true 1:1 comparison.
Who's gonna pay for a track that is already on Ac and ams2? 😂
I did, and the ams2 track is very good but only the variation.
You have to pay for it in ams2 and ams2 is a game not a simulation
Looks better in ACC. But looks great in AC too...the big problem is the mod-"shit"-show. I useed to use them all, SOL, CSP, I don´t know the other new name...PREY? PURE? Somethink like that. It was getting better and better, but in the End, I collected round about 100GB in MODS, free and payed ones...I am done with it now. You can have the same stuff in better graphics and in my opinion with better physics, more stable and more intense in it´s feeling in ACC. Just buy it, install it and drive it. ...1h with a bad internet. In AC you need to look after the mods, downloads take more time, because of blocked traffic, some times, mods are a kind of stupid work bla bla bla...in the end, AC is still great, if you have time to collect all the good stuff, do it! If you like to buy and drive, take ACC.
