14:30. When I saw these armature rings, I immediately remembered how we used to throw shaped transformer plates in childhood. They were in the form of the Russian letter "Ш", or "E". 😄
I love this, the voltage convertion was a master piece, It would be nicer a more elaborated adaptation to the battery and a cover for the exposed wires, consider 3d printing 👌
Other than perhaps a bit better cable management from the handle to the battery, you've done an excellent job. I'd have sleeved the wires into one flex, grommeted the hole they emerge from or, indeed, routed them out of the smaller hole @ 28:38 and blanked off the large aperture at the bottom. Still, definitely a 9.5/10.
Thank you for great video bro. 21:20 I need your help. I use RS 775 and its wires broken high voltages. What did use this liquid glue for secure wires? I find a glue, Permabond 920 but is it very expensive.
so scary powertools with full metal expose like that with no rubber coating, and its electric AC to, you bassicaly play with your life using a tools like this, convert it to dc will be safer from electric shock
Q: Do you have to tamper with the motor in order for it to work with a battery, I have added a battery to my corded Strimmer to make it cordless, however, it doesn't give the same power?
Thats a lot of work. I have a drill very similar i found it in a dumpster i dont that i will power it from the mains i think it s dangerous beacause of the metal body maybe i wil something steampunk from it... i have one guestion what that that one cluch do?
@@gear_show the drill is designed with 100V so maybe your initial test with 200V+ AC broke it? these vintage makita hammer drills are surprisingly durable and ppl are still using them practically today.
nice but you should not use plastic to "Insulate" the windings.. you should use insulating paper that is designed for it you run the risk of it heating up and melting and sticking causing a short with prolonged use.
Interesting project. But was it worth? I mean, there is really lot of work you did. Anyway when you testing drill on different materials like wood there is no question. When you drill concrete, I see a low performance in this case. And there is not showing drilling metal plates. Good job anyway. Good luck!
The battery can be used with the original power tool, so It can't count into this project cost. I do this project for learning and showing. The vintage mechanic structure is designed not so good, that why it performs not so well. Anyway thank you!
You're supposed to melt that plastic pole. The one that came through nickle plate. It's there to lock the metal in place. I used low temperature solder with old tips.
It looks like the spot labeled '12v' on the circuit board wasn't soldered down like the rest. You can see it at 3:47
also didnt add a grommet where the power cables go into the (metal) body
always one to pick a fault
People who spot potential problems are much better at their job than those that just sit in awe.
I`m one of your biggest fans! Every video is a masterpiece. Really grateful you`ve inspired me to do a lot of my own projects.

Great job as usual but the motor seems to be not powerful enough for this drill?
Yes, it is less power than original.
Another great video and i like the sound! 👍

What was the blue component marked as z08, a bridge rectifier ?
Which part of the video? Could you please point it
How will you stop the drill for draining the battery cells all the way?
Wow! Your job is amazing.... I need to know... how did you remove the rust and the grease?! that must be difficult
The motor laminations will produce eddy currents because each lamination wasn't isolated electrically with varnish etc. But overall great work!
very good

Did you input 100V in the beginning?
What is the current or power of the new motor?
I didn't test with 100V in the beginning, I know the original power by the label.
My multimeter can't measure the current of the new motor.

Have you ever done the math to see how much more powerful your mods have made tools like this one?
When I was studying physics, I knew how to calculate its force.
I would like the rotor winding diagram for this motor please
You can find more detail from the broken motorbike starter
can you restoration for electric die grinder? or mod it into battery
