What if Squirrelflight has to kill him? That would be GREAT. To see Squirrelflight grow during the arc to become even more involved with her clan as Bramblestar becomes more and more rabid and sick. And just as he’s about to bite some main cat then Squirrelflight kills him. That would be a great story. But then that would mean Bramblestar doesn’t just drop dead.

Just imagine this, bramblestar is on the great oak, with the other leaders, and all of sudden, as he is talking, he drops dead and falls off the oak, limp, and the all of the cat's jaws drop open and start freaking out. Especially bramble's family. Like, if something happens close to that I'm going to actually freak out while reading. Not only would it be a scary an d has dropping scene but it would be a new death. (Sorry for making "a new death" sound right ;-;)

I personally dislike Bramblestar, I mean at first it was sorta cool but he got really boring. Although I like Squirrelflight, I still wish not all leaders after Firestar were either his or Tigerstar's kin.
Edit: I was thinking, since he might have rabies, what if he maybe bites someone like Jayfeather or Squirrelflight?
yes we shall let Squirrelflight die. I also think in here should be the best time to finally let the 'senior' warriors rest. Cloudtail and Brightheart have 3 generations beneath their paws, and are super old! They should be retired by now.

Hey Erin Hunter, where's the Reedwhisker super edition, I've been waiting on it since all the deputies of the other four clans got their own super edition.

I think one night at a gathering Bramblestar should go crazy and kill Mistystar, I love Mistystar all, but we really need to move on, I mean she's been alive for an extremely long time, really any cat that lived in the old forest needs to die, especially if they were a senior apprentice and up. I'd really like to see the clans be full of fresh cats, but of course not so fresh that we barely know anyone. Also I hope this darkness that comes helps get Thunderclan's population under control, seriously get rid of the meaningless cats that little to no one cares about ans is rarely seen in books and rarely does anything important.

I personally think the "beloved clan leader" they're speaking about is Mistystar. She's incredibly old (older than Graystripe, mind you), and since she was one of Bluestar's kits, we definitely have a bond with her.
That's what I think, it's very reasonable to kill her off I will miss her dearly. But she's like 11 years old! I know cats can live a lot longer than that but she's the oldest Warrior Cat in the history of Warrior Cats!

If Bramblestar accidentally bites Squirrelflight and she doesn’t show signs or hides from the clan that she was bitten, she becomes leader, appoints Ivypool as deputy, starts showing the symptoms of rabies.... we just might get Ivystar!
But I read somewhere that the Erin Hunter team didn’t want to kill off the majority of the clan, since they’d have to bring in more to the books. Though I’m curious to see who all gets bit- and how long it’s gonna take the clan to figure out something’s up.

People before they knew bramblestar was an impostor: HE HAS RABIES.
I’ve always wanted Warriors to implement rabies, and I think it’s irony that Bramblestar, Tigerstar’s son, will honestly become aggressive and perhaps some sort of ‘evil’ presence, but it wouldn’t be his fault. Such a disease would probably make the cats stray from Starclan itself.
SquirrelFlight being leader? That would be really interesting! And I don't exactly like BrambleStar because he is just....unexciting and normal. His Warrior life and Apprentice life was good, though.

Yea Bramblestar is honestly a very boring leader, and while warrior and apprentice life was very developed, relatable, and just plain good, Bramble*star* will never be as honerable or remembered as the other exciting leaders (ex., Bluestar, Crookedstar, Tallstar, and yes, Firestar)

I imagine that Bramblestar will have gotten it from a rogue cat or a fox, and loses a life. Rabies might spread through the Clan, and come back to Bramblestar and slowly take his lives, until the probably dramatic scene of sudden death, at a gathering in front of everyone and just falls out of the tree and dies. I am obsessed with this theory and I have no idea why lol

My add-on to this theory: Bramblestar will become so crazy with this rabies, that he'll start to attack and kill other cats and even clan leaders. He'll end the reign of Leafstar and Mistystar, and, if Sol is in this book, Sol will take another one of Bramblestar's lives somehow and Bramblestar will kill him. Squirrelflight's Hipe will also have a subplot regarding Bramblestar, and maybe quarantine him until his death.
If Squirrelflight does become leader, then I hope she'll make Ivypool deputy.
Edit: I realized that Juniperclaw wasn't proven to be dead. Still, if you just replace Sol with Juniperclaw, my headcanon/AU still works. And yes, this is now my AU/headcanon.

If Bramblestar does end up with rabies, perhaps he ends up infecting the other leaders, this would be a pretty interesting way to cause the cats to have to choose between loyalty to their clans and their now extremely aggressive and odd behaving leaders, or the code, as well as introduce a way for the authors to kill off all of the current leaders and replace them with their deputies.

This theory actually scared me. I've actually been thinking recently: Why are there no cases of rabies in the wild? Like they are fighting foxes, and even the raccoons from Hawkwing's Journey. This theory seems so plausible at the moment and it actually shocks and scares me.
Also one of the Erins said that Squirrelflight wouldn't become leader. So maybe Bramblestar gets rabies and Squirrelflight tries to help him, only to get bitten and die. With both authority figures dead or going crazy the Clan would fall into chaos. Maybe that's why they say that loyalties would be shifted, because ThunderClan can't do anything because of the warrior code about who becomes deputy, so they must break it to get a new leader.
Anyway a rabid Bramblestar is absolutely terrifying to me.

Or perhaps the senior warriors would sacrifice themselves to kill Bramblestar. It would be a way to "get rid" of really old characters from series 1. However, rabies spread from animal to animal if the rabid animal comes in contact (biting and I think clawing?). I think it would spread to the other warriors too.

Hold up, if bramblestar gets rabies, on his second life, with eight lives left, then wouldn’t he still live? Or will rabies continue to effect him after he loses a life, will he go insane and kill cats? Will he be disbanded from being leader? Will it take all of his lives? And also, the picture of Bramblestar with rabies is going to haunt me for life

To be fair, rabies is an unfamiliar disease to the cats, and we’ve already had a leader lose all their lives at once, so Bramblestar’s rabies could possibly be bad enough to take all his lives at once. Knowing how severe rabies can be, it isn’t implausible.
I really like the idea of the sickness remaining in his body, slowly taking lives, as he becomes more and more destructive, to the point where he becomes a Cujo-like tank that spreads the rabies everywhere
Mabey the reason that the next super addition is gonna be about Squirrelflight seeing theres something wrong with Bramblestar and will be concerned about his well being and mabey she talks to someone like Midnight because that can bring her back into play. And Squirrelflight can say she saw this white fluffy stuff coming out of Bramblestar throat. Then Midnigt will name this illness called rabies and how it can kill cats and it can spread like wild fire. Then Squirrelflight warns the cats to make sure then keep a close eye on Bramblestar. Then she will warn the other clans and the Maybe at the end of Squailflight hope she will walk into Bramblestar den to see why he isn't out not remember rabies can kill cats she walks in and sees him dead so she pushes him out try to get rabies and he joins Starclan. This is what i think i think it is responsible tell me if you think the same

As much as it is interesting that Squirrelflight might be leader, the Hunters have said they want the next leader to be Cinderheart. I've seen this all over the place, and I have seen them say it
I saw so many comments about the Bramblestar with rabies picture so I kept watching and when I saw that it made me want to yeet my device across the room
I do love this theory! But, it was confirmed that in 2020 there will be a Alderheart Super Edition, breaking the chain of books based on deputy’s.

Hate to be the ruiner of theories, but Bramblestar hasn't ever lost a life in-book, right? So, unless he lost some lives between books, he still has all nine. I'm not sure about how leaders with diseases work, but doesn't the sickness go away after they lose that life? If not, then I guess this idea is plausible, but if so, then he's still got a while to go before he's gone for good.
Or maybe I'm desperately trying to keep my favorite leader from dying and being replaced with someone who I don't find interesting in the slightest.
EDIT: I did some research on rabies. It only affects the nervous system, which includes the spine and brain. I believe that Bramblestar will lose 2-3 lives MAX from it, and at least one for the brain.
If a leader dies from a disease, he/she will come back clear of disease but might wanna keep out of the contaminated areas depending on the disease unless he/she wanna die again.
So Bramblestar will only lose a single life to rabies as for how the leaders died from greencough, another deadly disease, they are usually cleared of the disease on the next life. This also applies to many other diseases. The only way a leader gets killed by the same disease twice is if he/she is stupid enough to stay in the contaminated areas.
So do not worry, your precious Bramblestar will not lose all his lives to rabies!

@katya Spooner I think if he had rabies after getting killed, then that means the animal that infected him killed him first and then when he loses the life and comes back the rabies actually takes affect. It's interesting, but a bit convoluted. Maybe when he does become aggressive and start attacking clanmates, the survivors exile him from the clan. It would be a good way to get him out of the leadership position *and* widdle down Thunderclan's population, considering it's more than any other clan.
If Bramblestar does get rabies, I think the four main cats he will bite to pass on the sickness will be Leafpool, Leafstar, Mistystar and Reedwhisker. Leafpool because we need to get rid of a ThunderClan medicine cat and it will make the book much more interesting, with Squirrelflight having to deal with the sudden death of her mate and leader along with her beloved sister and having to now lead ThunderClan through this dark time. Leafstar because like you said, it's very obvious that Hawkwing will be SkyClan's next leader, so Leafstar needs to die. Mistystar and Reedwhisker because right now, no one knows who will get the RiverClan super edition and become the next leader. Reedwhisker has nothing interesting or important going for him right now, and Mistystar is probably going to die some way in this series. If the leader and Depudy of RiverClan are dead, then who will eventually lead the clan will have a troublesome time holding their clan together, and RiverClan will most likely fall out like ShadowClan did. This also brings in your Sol will return theory, RiverClan is losing hope fast and this is when Sol comes in. He will take over the leadership of RiverClan. SkyClan and ShadowClan are, despite earlier fighting, in agreement that Sol needs to go once and for all. They band together to get him out of RiverClan when they find that RiverClan is treating him like a real leader, and they will fight to the death for him. So Leafstar and Tigerstar agree that they need to fight the weak RiverClan to get Sol out. Hawkwing and Tree know this is wrong and try to talk to Leafstar. This is when they notice her drastic change in behaviour. Mothwing will also hold a very important role in this book, RiverClan thinks StarClan has abandoned them but because of Mothwing's lack of faith she will hold hope in RiverClan. These are just a few random ideas I thought of on the spot, so their not very good.

But.. I thought cats were cured of the disease that takes a life. That's why Firestar could stay with the cats with greencough that one time.
Looking back at this video, I realized that even if Bramblestar got rabies and suddenly died, he'd loose a life. Once a leader dies all sickness is cleansed from their bodies, so he'd only loose one life.

So here is some interesting fact: (its kinda a theory of mine)
In the last book from the prophecies begin(when scourge died) Firestar wondered where scourges soul will go to, and it can't be Starclan or the dark forest because he didn't believe in those two, and moons later one of the kitty pets (im sorry idk his name, the one who was once daisys mate i think) said that he saw dead kitty pets return to their housefolks as "ghosts"

After Bramblestar lost one of his nine lives Ashfur possesed him and traped him in the dark forest thats why “Bramblestar” will be acting odly because it’s Ashfur in Bramblestars body. Sorry if i wrote something wrong English isn’t my mother tongue (i just searched that on google translator😂) so i hope i helped

....That, instead of getting possessed by Ashfur, Bramblestar got rabies, because that would be *FAR* more interesting, even though him getting possessed still was interesting.
Unless Bramble is on his last life he won't die from Rabies. When they die from an wound or illness they get cured from it, thus his rabies would be gone after dying / loosing a life
When I read the new description, I thought that bramblestar had the mange. Mange is where a cat for example, comes in contact with infected fox fecies. It can cause behavioural changes and loss of fur. Its highly contagious and most infected animals are put down. Sorry for the medical rant.

In the real version of The Broken Code arc, the bad thing that happens to Bramblestar is actually that he dies and gets possessed... Specifically, he gets possessed by Ashfur.
Because this theory - made before the books came out and this plot point was revealed - speculated that the bad thing would be Bramble getting Rabies, but really he got possessed by Ash, I'm joking that Rabies = Ashfur.

If Sleekwhisker does show up in Squirrelflight's Hope and enters battle with her rogue gang, there is a possibility she will be killed. Having a main antagonist dealt with but still bearing wounds from the attack, ThunderClan would be vulnerable to both the harsh weather AND a rabid creature's attack.
Sleekwhisker may be restless in the Dark Forest and return as the ghost SkyClan and ShadowClan encounter. She turns the Clans against each other, effecting the Clans as a whole.
This is just a theory, though! I have no clue what's gonna happen, so I'll try and stay tuned for more information. :)

I've been waiting for this video for a while, so thanks. Also, Mistystar is also a beloved leader too, and the Erins can't ignore her forever. Didn't she get rescued by ThunderClan at the end of Darkest Night? RIverClan did have some sort of sickness going through it before they were burnt out of their camp. Mothwing and Willowshine were using watermint to help with bellyache and vomiting, both of which can lead to a loss of appetite. In The Raging Storm, Puddleshine gets sick in ThunderClan camp as well, and he has a seizure. These did happen in River of Fire and the beginning of The Raging Storm, however, so who knows how relevant they still are. Also, it might be interesting to see if Alderheart thinks about becoming a kittypet during the leafbare, remembering how his friend Velvet was so well-fed and probably cozy with her twolegs. Maybe he goes and visits more often, eating kittypet food like Cloudpaw did.
