Well for me personaly I've never used a disc in my whole time with the ps5 and about the low prices , that's just not an option because there are no discs in my country, yes neither amazon or other online stores ship here
Disk has the best of both worlds. A PS5 these days is an investment. I like having a broader range in how I play my games. My whole library is physical. They're mine to have and hold FOREVER.
That's not the case for modern consoles anymore. Disc games takes as much space as digital versions now, because the games are fully installed to your consoles hard drive regardless and the disc becomes nothing more than a "key" to access your games basically.
Yeah I realised that after posting that comment, turns out that only applies to Switch as physical games in that take up less storage than a digital game. One advantage of owning a Disc version of a console is that you get the best of both worlds
I purchased the Digital PS5. Like so many people, i haven't used a disc game in years. Some worry about space, just purchase a SSD for the PS5. Very easy to install. PlayStation Network gives a lot of discounts for games to be downloaded. I havent used a DVD in several years cause i put all my current DVDs on my phone so i dont need a disc drive.
Ppl will have their personal preference. I stop buying physical games since 2016 and went all digital ever since. I forgot what putting disc is like XD
Your wifi usage will be insane when you download games. Whenever I plan a purchase, i make sure I have a few days during that pay period where I either barely use wifi or just a little so that I can save my data for gaming and downloading
Disc version is way better. You can buy the games physical then whenever you're done with them you can just sell em. Cant do that with digital games. I usually only buy physical games for that reason. If you buy digital you could never get any money back from it
A big reason for disk is when your parents or grandparents or whoever, buy you a game they usually buy it as disk and disk is some times cheaper than digital games
Well, just today I bought a physical game for about 15 euros. The same it's still fully priced today, and the lowest it ever had digitally was 25 euros. I definitely don't regret purchasing the disk reader version.
I may be wrong here, but I’m pretty sure if you buy a disc drive and ps5 slim plastics, you can make it disc version so if any other case I’d say never buy a digital unless really can’t afford it, but in this case I don’t think you’ll regret it at all knowing you can change it.
Its a big burn to buy the digital version. You cant play cheap used games from gamestop. Or borrow a game from a friend. This is Sony overreaching so they could nickle and dime us to death. The fact that they don’t even offering, and external disk expansion is very telling. They want you to buy two of them if you made the mistake of buying the digital fuck that.
Having disc option is important, unless you're that rich kid who can afford to blow money away. Without digital media, Sony will make you it's bitch by controlling the price of games, not having full ownership, not being able to trade, share or rent them out. I urge all Americans to protest if Sony ever decides to stop physical media.
Ps 5 disc swapping has been a thing in social media other than selling them when not needed. Digital is exclusive ownership while the disc versions presents more options.
I downloaded Monster Hunter U for the Wii U some years ago. When it's time to get rid of the console, there's no way to resell the downloaded games you purchased. So, it's kinda up to the person if they wish to make some money back from the games they no longer play when they decide to sell the game(s) and console.
A lot of my PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 discs have gone up in value a huge amount! And now some of my PS5 discs are also going up in value too. That never happens with digital (except maybe once - consoles with PT installed)...
I haven’t bought a disc since the early ps4 years and all of them have the biggest disc problem… scratches 😑. Imma just go all digital now anyway, this is an absolute money saving win.
Please I do not have a console. Do you have a ps4 console you no longer make use of ?? I’ll appreciate if you can give it out. I can’t afford one and I’ll sincerely appreciate if you can give me any Ps console you’re not making use of. 🙏
Ppl who get the disk one more so should be kids in my opinion, give them that experience of going to buy & look at games.. it’s a different type of feel as a kid. Now as an adult (I’m 27).. I often times don’t have the time in a day to go to game stores & look & buy games. I work, have responsibilities as well. I have to go digital because I can’t buy games in stores because when I’m off or have time they’re closed or I’m tired 😂😂
I say buy discs for games you play 24/7, preferably offline but could also be something like rainbow six seige or Cod i guess. As for digital, just get ps plus extra. You get a whole bunch of games that you can download, most of which you aren't going to be playing very long unless its something really good. (1 year deal ofc)
No one’s worry about if they will game in the future. And If they are So be it. People are worrying about gaming now, and how their experience will be.
That's dependant on the type of game, PS2 and it's games can still run today because it's all local, other games today like cod won't because it's all done through online processing and if they take support for their game away then yeah you're right but it's still playable offline
I bought the digital version because it was the only one available at that time. I don’t regret it, I slapped a 2TB SSD on it and it’s perfect for me especially as a minimalist.
I’m a collector, like most, I have concerns about Sony being able to take digital games away in the future, but most disc games now won’t run without an update so the only reason to have discs now is for collectors
You don't have to, the physical disc PS5 still lets you play digital games. The physical disc PS5 lets you play both physical and digital games (not only physical games), while the digital PS5 limits you to only digital games. I play both physical and digital games on my physical disc PS5.
There is benefits in digital edition bcoz in future digital gaming will be more than physical and also in future will struggle to find our favourite disc games like we face today for ps3 and ps2 lovers.
Discs are a joke and are outdated and just boring and ridiculous they get scratches they can easily break The digital design is slimmer and looks cooler than the disk one If someone wanted to annoy someone they could just snap their disc and boom they gotta spend $50 for another disc to play the game again and people have trouble downloading DLC’s for MK11 on PS5 because their disc is from another region Digital is where it’s at if you delete the game you can reinstall for free If your disks are taken what are you gonna play? My whole life before getting the PS5 I was physical and digital with the Xbox one s and Series X I had, I really don’t regret going digital as it saves you heaps of time having to find the disc., but it in the PS5, and wait for it to read the disc, whereas if the game is digital, all I have to do is launch it as soon as I boot up the PS5. Going digital was a way better choice instead of going physical and digital
Not sure if it's regrettable if you prefer the digital edition as you are consistent of playing digital games. I got the disc edition and so far I'm good at it.
Ive had every PS5 model that has come out. Originally I bought the same Original Playstation 5 Digital Version you have in the video, however I ended up selling it to my dad because my girlfriend scratched it up. Soon after I purchased the Playstation 5 Slim Disc Edition since there were literally no more new OG PS5s available to purchase new from any store and I don't buy refurbished or used consoles so I just went with the Slim. Ive also just pre-ordered the Playstation 5 Pro as well.
I intended to go digital because my collection is digital, but funnily enough I actually had a reverse situation in which I went disc because the digital one was unavailable. Not at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, not even via PlayStation's own website. With the holiday season coming (October when I got the system) I am basically assuming it's not going to be available for a while and I had already impulsively pre-ordered Spider-Man 2 (Digital Deluxe Edition, of course), sooooo🤣 I guess I'm in that very small subset of people who bought a disc PlayStation with no intention of purchasing any discs
I almost bought a digital ps5 cuz I never buy discs, but then I realized I’ll never be able to play my PS4 games on it. So I got the disc one and now I get physical copies of the games
I purchased the disk version a while back. I was afraid of the fact that my “digital” games would delete due to software issues and I would have no way of getting it back. So atleast I would have a disk to prevent that
Yes but digital you take a risk , it’s a monopoly it’s like renting a house place or car , your leasing a game renting it you don’t ever physically own it , if they take it off the store then u lose your money and games

Well, just today I bought a physical game for about 15 euros. The same it's still fully priced today, and the lowest it ever had digitally was 25 euros. I definitely don't regret purchasing the disk reader version.
I’m still Waiting to hear why it’s a mistake. Lmao all
He did was like “it’s a mistake so
I got the disk one”
I urge all Americans to protest if Sony ever decides to stop physical media.
ps5 disc benefits : u can buy digital games and disc both
it gives benefits of both
topic ended
I believe that with the Slim version of the PlayStation 5, you can buy the digital version still and actually get an add-on disc drive for it.
Yeah idk ive been using digital games on my ps4 the past few years so ill probably buy the digital
Ps 5 disc swapping has been a thing in social media other than selling them when not needed. Digital is exclusive ownership while the disc versions presents more options.
Disc Version Is Way Better❤
Can u still watch Netflix and all that I just got the disc one today
@@KushGang-mv4zc yes. Both versions can do the same features they have apart from disc related things
Ive had mine for almost a year now and i still love it
Fuck discs. Not gonna sell the games I will buy and don’t play many games.
Having the disc edition is like having both the worlds in hands
Bro just called us broke in 99 different languages
I downloaded Monster Hunter U for the Wii U some years ago. When it's time to get rid of the console, there's no way to resell the downloaded games you purchased. So, it's kinda up to the person if they wish to make some money back from the games they no longer play when they decide to sell the game(s) and console.
You don't own digital games. With digital games, we have less control over our games.
No control not less control
A lot of my PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 discs have gone up in value a huge amount! And now some of my PS5 discs are also going up in value too. That never happens with digital (except maybe once - consoles with PT installed)...
good point!
I haven’t bought a disc since the early ps4 years and all of them have the biggest disc problem… scratches 😑. Imma just go all digital now anyway, this is an absolute money saving win.
Not really maybe not just be a lazy asshole
Please I do not have a console. Do you have a ps4 console you no longer make use of ?? I’ll appreciate if you can give it out. I can’t afford one and I’ll sincerely appreciate if you can give me any Ps console you’re not making use of. 🙏
Been going digital since the ps4 and don’t regret it.
I play on pc and ps5. I really only stick to the console simply because I like to go to GameStop and buy disc versions of games sometimes
In the long run the games in physical form will be easier to store or keep as collection
Ok but think about the money u waste on online stores
Dude where do you work ?
I say buy discs for games you play 24/7, preferably offline but could also be something like rainbow six seige or Cod i guess.
As for digital, just get ps plus extra. You get a whole bunch of games that you can download, most of which you aren't going to be playing very long unless its something really good. (1 year deal ofc)
The issue with digital version is in maybe 10 to 20 years you aren’t gonna be playing anything
No one’s worry about if they will game in the future. And If they are So be it. People are worrying about gaming now, and how their experience will be.
You must be high on crack rocks !!! People love the vintage video games and they are valued more than ever
Dude in 10-20 years, we'll have a ps6 or ps7 lol
That's dependant on the type of game, PS2 and it's games can still run today because it's all local, other games today like cod won't because it's all done through online processing and if they take support for their game away then yeah you're right but it's still playable offline
@@lavyuna I meant, once the store closes down and if you don’t have what your want on your storage you don’t get to play it with the digital version.
I bought the digital version because it was the only one available at that time. I don’t regret it, I slapped a 2TB SSD on it and it’s perfect for me especially as a minimalist.
I haven’t bought disk games in long time so I’m good with the digital version
I’m a collector, like most, I have concerns about Sony being able to take digital games away in the future, but most disc games now won’t run without an update so the only reason to have discs now is for collectors
I don’t use disks so I got the digital
To each their own. I personally havent used disks in years and have been downloading all of my games. I like it and thats why I got the digital.
I mean if you get the disc version you have to carry games around😅😅😅
Isnt a problem
Atleast we have the option to resell or get a refund. I guess some people like to limit themselves 🤣
You don't have to, the physical disc PS5 still lets you play digital games. The physical disc PS5 lets you play both physical and digital games (not only physical games), while the digital PS5 limits you to only digital games. I play both physical and digital games on my physical disc PS5.
There is benefits in digital edition bcoz in future digital gaming will be more than physical and also in future will struggle to find our favourite disc games like we face today for ps3 and ps2 lovers.
there’s no such thing as a ‘PROPER’ ps5 😭 it’s the same system it’s just that one takes disks and one doesn’t
Discs are a joke and are outdated and just boring and ridiculous they get scratches they can easily break
The digital design is slimmer and looks cooler than the disk one
If someone wanted to annoy someone they could just snap their disc and boom they gotta spend $50 for another disc to play the game again and people have trouble downloading DLC’s for MK11 on PS5 because their disc is from another region
Digital is where it’s at if you delete the game you can reinstall for free
If your disks are taken what are you gonna play?
Discs era is gone leave that bullshit at Blockbuster oh wait….
@@Sparkingzeroo very great points not to mention you got 30days to refund your digital for full price back unlike disc where u go to GameStop and get robbed.
@@Xerrian Exactly
@DARKK Discs don't get scratched so it's made of Blu-ray and I think the Digital looks ugly
@DARKK Discs don't get scratched so it's made of Blu-ray and I think the Digital looks ugly
I dont regret so much there is a service where u can borrow accounts and play the game on ur account using shareplay but i miss the disk vibe. Its very very difficult for middle class to afford
Its worth it after years mark my words❤
Disks are dead
Digital is a scam
After completing a game I sell them 😂 then
@@vilgax4011 what if you want to play again in the future?
@@mza5307 I mean if you're still using the same psn account any of your purchases are yours to download again
U should give it too someon3 whis tryna save up for one😊
Sell the disc version 😂
Why? The digital PS5 can only play digital games, while the physical disc PS5 can play both digital games and physical games. Isn't more choice always a good thing?
Bro💀💀 i just bought a digital ps5 and i see this video💀💀💀
Literally 2 weeks ago😂😂😂
I went digital with the PS5 (Slim model) I got.
I love discs because me and my friends like trade games for a 1 week then return them back it’s really fun to play diffrent games that my friends have
You could have just bought a disc tray that adds onto the digital version for £100 and it’s genuine and works absolutely fine
With the holiday season coming (October when I got the system) I am basically assuming it's not going to be available for a while and I had already impulsively pre-ordered Spider-Man 2 (Digital Deluxe Edition, of course), sooooo🤣
I guess I'm in that very small subset of people who bought a disc PlayStation with no intention of purchasing any discs
The birthday boy seeing the last PS5 being sold to a man who already has a PS5:
Ahaha, i do have a twin brother who I can now play with because we both have PS5’s now!
@@DavisFangTechoh dang my comment is pointless now 😭
THINGS THAT ASCEND OUR COMPREHENSION OF _IT_
Where I live In Canada I got the disc cause we get better deals on disc games I just picked up Ratchet and clank rift apart for $35 half the price!
At least with digital you can play any game you want on the portal and not limited to just one having to have the disc in the console.
You know now you can add the disc drive onto it without having to buy a new ps5 now
Imagine still buying discs and then having to take it out and put a new one in whenever you wanna play a new game 💀💀
Imagine clowning on physical media and people who actually own things they pay for 💀💀
weird flex
Imagine being so daft you celebrate stupidity.
Imagine being that lazy
The only problem I have with physical is for a single console. A ton of disks get overwhelming at some point.
With a physical you have choice!
I almost bought a digital ps5 cuz I never buy discs, but then I realized I’ll never be able to play my PS4 games on it. So I got the disc one and now I get physical copies of the games
as a person who hasnt used disc for games for around 6 years, i bought the disc version of the ps5.
I purchased the disk version a while back. I was afraid of the fact that my “digital” games would delete due to software issues and I would have no way of getting it back. So atleast I would have a disk to prevent that
Sony itself is the software issue. Digital only gamers will surely lose all their games it's just a matter of time.
I'll say just keep the other one for a back up in case one doesn't work you got a spare one to use
Does the disc version do digital? Because I’m looking to buy one but only if it does both
Yes but digital you take a risk , it’s a monopoly it’s like renting a house place or car , your leasing a game renting it you don’t ever physically own it , if they take it off the store then u lose your money and games
Of course it does. Just cause it has a disk drive doesn't mean you can't purchase digital games from the ps store
I return the risks to the cex store in the mall and I get about 80 percent value worth credit...or about 70 percent worth cash...now do u people agree that a disk edition is better??
I got a digital slim ps5 super cool and fast. I don't need to go anywhere to buy disc and wait for them to scratch up and take space in my desk
I’m old school so I bought the disc but I still ended up buying games through the store😂. BUT I check the prices first because sometimes the store over charges! So that’s the only plus side when it comes to the disc
What's the problem with digital? PC's have long abandoned disks.
I always keep my opinions open I bought 3 full consoles one for myself and the other 2 as Christmas Presents ps4 games are awesome on it
I got the ps5 slil digital edition so I can always upgrade by buying a disk reader for the ps5
my only issue is with digital games pricing,. it's almost double than that of disc
massive mistake is the Sony Error code... got to play for 2 days since then it's been "temp services unavailable" for a year, makes a grown man cry
if you have a super fast internet, then it ok, but if you don't well, disc can be handy
Reasons I bought a digital:
1: cheaper option
2: haven’t played a disc game sense 2018 😬
3: No friends so no game sharing
For example, I own Transformers Devastation. On disc. Worth good money. Glad I bought it, cause you can’t find it on the PlayStation store and it’s still a banger.
I sold my digital on mercari for like 380$ with 2 controllers and then recently got a slim disc version
