During the installation process of Windows 11, you will be forced to sign up to a Microsoft account, but what if I told you that its possible to bypass the Microsoft account and use a offline limited account instead.
Type: SHIFT + F10 to open command prompt.
    Now type: CD OOBE
    Now type: BypassNRO.cmd

"Limited account" makes it sound like the local account is inferior to the microsoft account. Its not really limited in any way, if anything it is a bit better when it comes to your privacy and control.

said local account at the beginning and mixed my words near the end and called it limited account. But you already know that.

Good to know!! In my humble opinion.. Microsoft will or is slowing losing users.

I'm using Linux (at home.. work is another thing) from before the Win11 controversy so even if I could I don't wanna go back on Windows. It would be so hard. That's why I can imagine someone who is not IT savvy to just switch to Linux. Although honestly, it is all the same thing for most users, Linux has come a long way, the UX is completely different. I also have a Win11 on ext SSD just in case I want to use Photoshop (damn Gimp, I'm trying, trying, but...) with full throttle. Great content B. Thx

I did this on my PC, but a different way. It was a few years ago I don’t even remember, I just recall not being connected to the Internet during the set up process, and I had the option.

    • @goddessoftruth

Microsoft has changed the way it used to be done to set up local accounts. The installation process used to have an option offered for local vs. MS accounts but it no longer offers any option. The other method is to make up a fictitious email account and let the activation for Windows fail to authenticate to that fictitious email. Once it fails to authenticate then it puts you immediately into the creation of a local account.

Or if you're okay with waiting for your internet to come back up, unplug your modem/router until you get passed that step.
