Hey Gene, I know this video was posted a long time ago but hopefully you will see this and can help me with my question. After the wire harness has been disconnected can I just unscrew the torx screws and have full access behind the panel? Another technician told me that the "plug part" will fall into the door. If those screws are removed does it give full access behild the panel like a standard rubber boot type harness? Much thanks.

@@1bigpea if I remember right that’s how I accessed the dent. Pretty sure you’ll end up with full access. If you’re worried about the end falling in, use tape or a wire to hold it.

I am trying to get the same harness off and can’t tell exactly where you are pushing and where you are pulling from the video. Are you pulling from the side or front ? Thanks for posting the video

At the bottom where we put the arrows on the video there is a little bump/nipple that holds the clip handle on. You’re prying the handle downwards off of the nipple then when it releases the handle pulls out towards the front of the vehicle (on the back door) or would pull backwards on the front door. Hope that makes sense

I wonder if you can point me in the right direction. I have a 2018 GLE 350 4Matic. I am installing a rear dash cam. I want to run the wire from the D pillar up to the wiring boot, through the wiring boot and out the rear trim at the top of the rear windshield. There is a lot of trim on the rear hatch. It looks like it can be popped off at the top (hoping so) without too much trouble). The ends of that boot are buried under that trim. I don't know how difficult or easy it will be to release the boot on both ends so that I can then feed my wire through and then out the trim around the window. I saw one video on the GLK which appeared to require removal of all the trim starting at the bottom in order to get the top trim removed. Sure hoping I don't need to go that far. I just want to remove enough trim and the boot to run my wire to the top of the rear windshield. Any help, videos, pics, etc. would be most appreciated. Thanks.

It's difficult to try and film and remove the clips at the same time! We are sorry that you felt it was a waste.
